May I vent briefly?
I took my two boys out for lunch today and a woman asked me how old they were. Five and two, I told her.
To which she replied, "5- and 2-year-old boys! I'd rather have 5- and 2-year-old girls."
She not only had the lack of tact to say that to me, she said it right in front of my kids. And since I'd just told her their ages, she should have known that a 5-year-old would be old enough to understand what she was saying.
I think some folks, like my husband and my mom, think my GD is somewhat in my head. But today's incident is just one of several that have happened to me, to say nothing about the anecdotes on sites like this.
Sorry ... I know this isn't sway-related. But you ladies are a good sounding board. I appreciate it!

OMG! How rude!! I can't believe people say things like that. Do they not think before they speak? xx
-
Oh what a stupid person she is! Big hugs to you and your boys! xx
-
It happens to me all the time too. So frustrating. It can really mess with your head.
-
That is so rude!!!!! And she obviously had not had 2 lovely, gorgeous boys and has no idea what it is like to raise them, more fool her!!!! There is definately a lot of people like that and it is not in your head, I wish people would keep their stupid opinions to themselves!
-
This is extremely rude, stupid and uncalled for! She is obviously not a very nice person. Sorry you had to sit through that!

What an ignorant and nasty woman. We mums of boys know that they can indeed be a handful but also how fun and loving they are and how lucky we are to have them. Your poor son too, how could she say that in front of him? The only comment I ever get is 'you've got your hands full' and I always respond with 'yes, they're great fun' before anybody can say anything else - and it's true too! Hugs x
-
Uh, I hate those comments! I too have 2 and 5 year old boys and it's great! Maybe she had multiple girls and doesn't know how great sons can be...or was secretly jealous.

What a witch!!!! Although sometimes I must admit I actually ~like~ the comments sometimes because it is proof positive that GD is not all in my head. For whatever reason, I prefer ignorant comments to feeling like I'm a nutty nutball for having GD!!! :p
