New, need help, time for intros later...

I will properly introduce myself very soon, I promise! I have been reading on here for about 4 months, but right now have a question that is in urgent need of an answer. I had a +opk over 2 weeks ago, but no obvious signs of O, went ahead and dtd anyway, have since had a bfn. I was expecting AF so haven't been using opks, and suddenly tonight, ewcm like crazy. It has been over a week since we last dtd, and since neither of us are spring chickens, I am hesitant to dtd since his, ahem, quality might be lacking at this point. But if we wait, we may miss a window. I normally only get about a day of ewcm, so it's not like I have time to waste here. What do I do? We have been trying, loosely for a few months, and then quite seriously since April. Help me, wise ones. TIA.

We decided to throw caution to the wind, since apparently nothing about this process is going to be straight forward this time around anyway. :) Very un-Martha of me, so maybe that is something.

When in doubt, DTD! esp if you've been trying for a while. Ya never know when the "Golden Egg" will show up.

I get the concern about the abstain but that's just one of those things while I don't want people doing it deliberately, it's just something that may raise risks a teeny amount. I would still have you go for it, with ONE attempt, and then leave it.

I don't know what is happening or what to do! After this initial post, yesterday, Saturday, I had no ewcm, which didn't surprise me. Took an opk yesterday, negative. Just out of curiosity this afternoon, I did another opk, and it was the most blazing positive I have had in months! Now it has only been 2 days since we bd'd, I am seeing ewcm again, and don't know if I should give it another go tonight... I know 1 attempt is best for ttc pink but I am a bit nervous that if I don't O for another day or 2, there may be nothing left to meet the egg since we had had a 9 or so day abstain (not on purpose) before our most recent attempt. I feel slightly like I could shoot myself in the foot either way. Thoughts?

I think that one attempt is still good. You did have the abstain but you had the ewcm which will help them survive a few days and there still would be some good spermies in amongst there. Fingers crossed you ovulate sooner rather than later. Good luck! Bumping up for AS anyway :)
