Yes, they capacitate over the course of hours/days (there are always some that are "sleeping" and some that are ready to fertilize an egg) up inside your reproductive tract. There are a couple places they hang out while this happens, the cervical crypts and in the Fallopian tubes. Your Fallopian tubes grow special cells around ovulation that make a kind of goo that helps sperm to stay alive in them long enough to find the egg.
