just ranting a bit
SOOO after doing the diet/supplements/etc...for months upon months...we had our first attempt and I am now (according to FF, 4 DPO) This morning before I got out of bed, I had about 10 minutes of really bad ovulation-type pains and it then went away. On a whim, I took an OPK and it was positive? My temp is still elevated at 98.38 after being at 97.3 on supposed Ovulation day. What the heck is going on...am I ovulating again even though my temp has been elevated since the first time? Any thoughts?

hi txmom! Did you get a clear positive OPK from days ago already? Like from 4 days ago that correlates to the FF calculations?
Because with OPK's it's the FIRST + one that counts. Depending on brand, manufacture, ink saturation, who knows what else sometimes it takes days for OPK's to fade out. Are you checking CM/CP too? Between OPK's and CM/CP you can usually lock down O pretty well even without temps.
FF's calculations aren't always accurate, and yes it's the most frustrating thing in the world when they change the crossbars later!
I don't know if you're trying to do O+12 timing but if you aren't, then go again tonight just to be sure. Otherwise go with the first +OPK being your O.

I got a pos OPK in the am on Saturday(Super dark lines) and DTD that evening...the next evening the OPK was negative...no line at all...then this morning(supposedly 4 DPO)...there's a positive...confused a bit :)

Ok that is confusing!! LOL!
Do you have a link to your FF? And do you chart your CM/CP?
I'm thinking Sat is possibly a false LH surge - it certainly happens. And today might be your body revving up again to pop out that egg. So, if timing isn't part of your sway, DTD tonight for sure.
IME FF can be really thrown by false surges. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's exactly what's going on.

I think sometimes your opk can pick up a corpus luteum surge. For that same reason some people get ewcm around that time also. I think.
Try not to stress:) sounds like you got your one attempt in;)
Good Luck!!

I guess it's confusing because temps dipped and I supposedly o'd at the normal time. Should I attempt again since it's been more than 4 days in case this is the "real" ovulation?
-
Yes - definitely go again tonight!! You don't want to miss the egg if you're ok with not doing O+12.
And FF is showing dotted lines anyways, which means even FF isn't really sure 100% in their prediction. Things might very well change in a few days with your chart and you don't want to miss the real O if today is it.

Thanks :) It's just so different than a normal "ovulation" THe pains this morning lasted ten minutes and have not returned...usually I'll be in pain a whole day and into the night. Also, TMI but when I wiped after going to the RR there were specks of what I am assuming was dried blood? I don't know what's going on...our bodies are so complicated. LoL Thanks for your input!

P.S. I guess we'll make another attempt?! Hoping that's the right thing :D

Since it's been over 4 days there's really no harm in another attempt, just to ease your mind.
I get random +opks all the time though and ovulation pain is in no way a good indicator of ovulation, as it can happen before, during, or days after O. If you took accurate bbt then it seems you have already O'ed. Only bbt can determine That O had passed, opks just detect leutenuzing hormone, suggesting you might O soon, but leutenuzing hormone is used by your body for many other things, even men can pee on a stick and get a positive OPK at times.
Your body might release 2 eggs in one cycle but they're always within 24 hours of each other, not days apart. Hope that helps!
