Question about BF, Vitex & PPAF

I am still nursing my son, he is 2 years, 3 months. I have not had a period since July of 2011 (before pregnancy) DS nurses approx 4 times a day. He cut back nursing sessions pretty recently, then a few weeks later I noticed a change in CM. I haven't had ANY CM since pregnancy, just very dry. I took the CM as a sign that AF may be ready to come. I took an OPK and got an unmistakable positive result (although I know this doesn't always mean ovulation has occurred) so now I'm just waiting for AF, which should be here around the 1st of the month if I actually ovulated. I'm worried if it doesn't show up then it was just my body gearing up but not actually producing an egg. I bought Vitex today & want to use it in order to enocurage PPAF & to also sway pink. I'd like to have one healthy period before TTC. When should I begin the Vitex? I have read several threads on it and it seems that the first day of what uses to be my normal cycle is a good day to start? Also, am I correct in understanding that I should use it for 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off? This is my first post on GD, so I apologize if this information is elsewhere. I did several searches & ready many threads over the past several days, but I can't seem to find this particular info.

Do not start the vitex till you're to the point where you'd expect AF.

Yes, I think it works best when you take it 2 w on, 2 w off, in a pattern that roughly corresponds to the calendar date of when your cycle occured before you got pregnant.
