I know some of you will want to kick me for saying this now that I am expecting a girl but I'm a little sad I'm not going to be a boys only mom. I saw a mom with 3 boys today and she looked like she was in her bliss. It makes me so happy to see that as that's how it should be and not that we feel a little something is missing. Easier said than done like we all know.

I felt that way too and even felt a bit of relief at my u/s with DS 4 for that same reason.
Nothing in life is ever simple and clearcut and our feelings are always in conflict.

While I was obviously excited to have a girl...I mourned the loss of that "all boy" mom status as well. It felt like a club and most of my friends are in it. And now I am not. I adore little boys, there are so many wonderful things about them. (I wasn't quite ready to read the bit about facial hair....sigh). Beautiful article.
