Hi
This is probably a long shot but can't hurt asking. We are about to start TTC swaying for pink and DH has just started a course of Champix / Chantix medication to quit smoking (only telling me as he started the course!!) I can't find any information on whether or not it affects his general fertility and whether or not we should wait so hopefully someone knows but would like to also know whether or not it would affect a pink sway.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Chantix raises the PH of most people and if it throws his really high it COULD affect fertility if it just starts nuking sperm. The most noticeable change is when he stops taking it then it goes on one last upswing before leveling back to normal. Sperm prefer their midline PH while super low and super high just nuke them. It effects everyone's PH differently so no way to know how it affected his PH unless you had the before and after number. If you are having trouble and you think his swimmers might be the culprit check the sperm PH and see if they are getting nuked.
As far as good or bad for a particular sway Ill have to defer to someone else.
I don't have the hard data to say for sure, but as a general rule most medications do tend to sway pink when taken by DH. Smoking itself sways pink as well though (and is something with a fair bit of both data and our observations backing it up) so that may be a confounding factor there.
I would NOT NOT NOT wait, I would TTC as soon as possible to capitalize on any potential effects of the smoking still in his system.
But still support him quitting....smoking may sway pink but it just isn't good for anyone in any way for the long term.Quote:
