I just found out BEFORE I got my BFP that I am hypothyroid. I didn't start taking synthroid until after I got my BFP. Does being hypothyroid sway at all? I figure the meds might but I wasn't on them when I conceived this one. Thoughts?

I´m hypothyroid and have 2 boys.
My guess is that untreated hypothyroidism sways girl because it reduces fertility for sure.
But I think I have read thyroid issues sway blue
Ah and Mary J.Shomon has a baby girl. She has hypothyroidism and is the writer of Thyroid Guide to Fertility, Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Success, the popular 40-page mini-guide and The Thyroid Hormone Breakthrough: Overcoming Sexual and Hormonal Problems at Every Age
My sister is hypothyroid ( she has Hashimoto disease ) and she has :bigboy: But she was already on medications when he was conceived.
My friend has hypothyroidism. It was discovered during her first pregnancy. She has a girl, m/c, boy, twin girls.
Interesting!!! I also conceived the month after a chemical. So...who knows how it swayed. I'm thinking my progesterone had to be up because of the pg hormones and all. That sways girl. I guess we'll find out in 9 months! LOL!
My friend is as well and she just had a baby girl! good luck!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
OMG congrats! I take a FaceBreak for a couple months and WOW! I am so freaking happy right now!!!
LOL obviously not happy about your health but still happy!!! ;)
Thyroid issues are SO complex that I would hesitate to even say. They can affect both blood sugar and cholesterol/testosterone and I suspect it may make a big difference where you were in the disease process (because your body tries to compensate and keep all these things where it's "used" to, until it can't any more.)
I am not sure what all that means, but thank you! LOL!
yeah, that was about as clear as mud!!! :)
I mean to say, if your blood sugar and testosterone were higher because of the thyroid disease, it would sway blue, but if they were lower, it sways pink. The problem is that both hypo and hyper thyroid can affect those things and your body can try to counteract them and end up raising/lowering those things in response. So even if your thyroid disease tended to raise BS/T as a general rule, depending on how bad your thyroid actually is and how long it's been going on, your body can, in an attempt to counteract the effects of the thyroid condition, actually do the opposite for awhile until the thyroid situation runs amuck and your body can no longer compensate.
Yes it sways boy.
