Breakfast alternatives to oatmeal
(xposted to TTC forum too)
Ok ladies I need some help with breakfast ideas!
I am a total creature of habit and especially with breakfast I always have the same thing everyday. It's just easier with the craziness of mornings with getting the kids off to school, etc.
I love my warm bowl of hot cereal everyday. It's usually about 1/3 cup oatmeal and 1/3 cup Red River cereal (whole wheat, rye and flax), microwaved, and then I mix a bit of 1% milk, a very tiny bit of brown sugar and a handful of blueberries. It's comforting and filling and I don't get hungry again an hour later.
But if we're going back to swaying I need to avoid the oatmeal, so I'd like some ideas for alternatives! I don't like cold breakfasts at all. Regular cereal + milk is a no no as it's too high sugar and high glycemic carbs and just makes me hungry. I do have PCOS tendencies and I'm on Metformin already for that.
I sometimes have an egg + a slice of toast with butter as an alternative, but I read on Atomic's posts about swaying with PCOS that I shouldn't have too many eggs either.
So, I would really really appreciate some suggestions of something I can have for breakfast everyday that won't get tiresome. I love a warm brekky, so I don't know if there is an easy alternate out there I can just switch out for the oatmeal?
Thanks everyone!!
Breakfast alternatives to oatmeal
I had two fried egg whites for breakfast and a cup of coffee. It certainly wasn't as filling as say two pieces of toast or a bowl of cereal. But did curb the hunger and for me was better than nothing.
Cottage cheese is the protein and fruit is the carbs- Atomic suggests only one or the other for breakfast I think? :)
