Preparing for sway and ovulation is now irregular

I am planning on attempting a girl sway in june 15. From all my research my timing idea would be abstain 7-10 and one release with a 2 day cutoff or so.trying to do the opposite of when we had our son which was an every other day release and most likely conceived day of pos Opk.

I am trying not to eat carbs for weight loss so as far as diet is concerned I am supplementing with "good" foods and just getting rid of the no foods...
In prep I have been tracking ovulation for the past 2 cycles .
In March i had a longer than what I thought cycle pos Opk on cd18 but using digital and had 5-6 h fertile days prior to positive.
This cycle I started using digital Opk on cycle day 10 ... Got a negative followed by 2 positives and today positive Opk ... Which is 3 days earlier than expected ... Assuming i o 24 hours after positive , when should be our 1 shot? I have one more cycle to track and it is possible that month one was long bc of diet changes ... Should I use non digital Opk as well to give me a clearer idea of when I o? Just nervous I am going to wait for my abstain release and then have no cutoff ( i know it shouldn't sway but want to do opposite of when had ds) ...
If my next cycle is irregular as well do I forgo the abstain and do a frequent release ... We are a young , healthy and fertile couple so I thought this was best for our first month ?

I recommend, instead of "doing the opposite", that you do what has worked for lots of other people. IT's fine to change things around, but don't get so caught up in "doing the opposite" that you end up putting too much emphasis onto that instead of doing what works.

THe thing with timing is, it doesn't work, and one of the main reasons for that is because cycles change dramatically from month to month just as yours did, and so there is NO guarantee with aiming for a cutoff that you will even be able to hit it. That is one of the main reasons we gave up on cutoffs - they were just too tough to do because one person would O early and then another O late and it just made everyone crazy.

Personally, I think it's easiest to to one shot at positive OPK. Don't worry that you did this with your son. Timing does not work and has been totally debunked. 50-50 boys and girls conceived every day means you can get a boy on that day last time, and a girl this time. You are still doing things very different by abstaining and sticking to one attempt. The one attempt is what really sways!
