I was pretty sure that she had dropped but i was on facebook on mommy sites and a woman was saying that her baby hadnt dropped and she had to get a C-section. Is it something they can see on an ultrasound? Im just confused now and wondering if baby has actually dropped
Usually the head will be fully engaged which can be felt at your appointment but a little sign I could tell was the space under my breasts :) usually I would fit nothing in the space between my breast & my bump but after baby dropped I could easily lay my whole hand against my ribs, if that makes sense.

You can feel baby's head in your pubic hair area if you know what to feel for. It drops in fifths. Your notes will say what your midwife last felt. Some babies don't drop (engage) until labour. It is not a sign of needing a section necessarily
She is misrepresenting what happened. Any doctor that did a section because a baby hadn't dropped should be sued for malpractice.
Some of them it's obvious, others it doesn't seem to be anything you can tell. WIth my first son, I was super high and even when he dropped, it looked like he didn't. With my last baby, I felt like she was practically walking out under her own power at my final dr. appointment and one of the nurses said "wow you're really carrying high!"
All my boys didn't drop much until labour started but this little one has been dropping last couple of weeks and I sometimes feel like she's trying to burst out lol x
The biggest thing to worry about is the babies positioning and that they have made the transition to being head down. When they do the heartbeat if the heartbeat is heard strongest on your lower then the baby is head down if its still up high then the baby is still breech. There are lots of stretches and very light almost yoga position exercises you can do to facilitate turning bubs in the right direction. My DS didnt turn until the week before I went into labor which is when I started doing the stretches because I still felt very low hard kicks instead of being kicked up high. They will continue to drop in their own due time especially with the early contractions. So as long as you have the head down position you are good!
