When checking your cervix...I am great with position and firmness...but struggle with deciding if it is open or closed. After having so many babies it always feels slightly open, except with I get pregnant....all so confusing!!

After a routine smear test I was told that mine sits at 2-3 cm open, and is common after having a brood. I always worry about the risk of incompetent cervix because of it, but so far the last ones have all been slightly overdue, so she must be holding up well!! I never really checked it myself during a cycle so i wouldn't know the difference, apart from it feeling softer on occasion?
Mine is always open too - though when I O it's so open that I often feel my finger's going to go straight up through! Have you looked at the 'my beautiful cervix' website? It shows the difference in shape after you've had children too, it gets kind of longer!
I find it's easier to go off texture rather than openness at this point - does it feel like your earlobe or the tip of your nose??
The Beautiful Cervix page is very helpful, great idea Zana! Here's a link to the pics of a mom who's had 4 vag births (it's not me LOL!) http://www.beautifulcervix.com/cervi...aginal-births/
Mine is always a little open, too, but more open as I get closer to O. When mine is closed, it feels like the funny end of a chayote squash, if you know what that is.

When it is open, I can fit my finger tip inside. It is kind of a gross feeling.
mine is slightly open to all the time, but around O its seems to be open slightly more, but the softness of it is very noticeable, mine feels like a flat donut hole lol its more - line shaped
