So just seeing what your drs say about tea & pregnancy? I LOVE chai tea & have been drinking it daily.... With caffeine & with out caffeine... Is chai safe? What about Chamomile Tea? & Rooibos tea? The nurse said it was all good but of
Course, looking online has scared me!! Thanks :)

My doc said no to Roobios and Chamomile, but the Chai (both varieties) were fine.

That's great news on the Chai! My fave :)

Occasional use of herb/spice tea now and then is fine. The issues arise when people drink gallons of the stuff all day every day.
I would not go nuts on the chai because of the spices in it. We honestly don't know. One a day isn't going to hurt anything IMO but I would just be sensible.
The one thing to be aware of is that green tea can block folic acid so that is why we take extra when drinking green tea. at 23 weeks you are past the point where a neural tube defect forms but for people in the first trimester it is important to take extra if drinking green tea in early pregnanncy

Thanks Atomic! I'm going to scale back on teas (sob) lol.... I've heard you say that about Green Tea before & completely stopped that one when I found out I was preggo! Now that it's getting cold, I just crave that warm drink! I've heard also that ladies are told by their dr to drink RLT every day starting in the 2nd Trimester.... What do you think about that?

I think it's wisest to hold off till pregnancy is viable before starting RRLT. 36 weeks is my recomendation on that. It can cause wicked cramps (did for me anyway) and it's just a good idea to wait til you're getting where baby has a very good chance of living on its own in case of premature labor
