Painful Ovulation....indicative of anything?

I'm not sure where to post this.... It's a TTC question but I'm already pregnant...so here it goes...

When I ovulated in July(month of my BFP) I had really painful O pains on my left side that lasted around 6 hours. I usually do get pain when I O but this was like debilitating, lay n the couch with a hot water bottle type pain. Plus this lasted 6x as long. Please tell me this would be the vitex......I am seriously terrified of twins. When a person releases 2 eggs it's usually from both sides right??? I guess I'm a teensy bit worried....my uterus is about 2 inches above my pubic bone and I'm 7 weeks. That's awfully high. Higher than it's ever been before at this point. I am on child #4 which is most likely why it's so high...but I just wanted some reassurance.

I totally think it's the vitex, because the same thing happened to me.

That having been said, the month I conceived DS 4 (while on vitex) I had MONDO O pains and then implantation cramping that you would not believe that lasted for like 10 days, and that WAS twins.

I had hardly any cramping until like 14dpo....and it hasn't been painful. Were the pains on one side or both? Thanks AS:)

I've had painful ovulation since I had my first baby, far more painful than any period I've had since! They do vary month on month though (far less cramping last month than this) and although I'll get my pains primarily on one side (left side last month and right side this) they do come from both sides overall.

So this is interesting for you DM - because you wouldn't know it was twins if you didn't have a scan would you? Although I suppose there'd come a point when you discovered two sets of limbs poking out!!

LOL! No kidding! If by 20w I'm measuring way above that and have lots of movement all over...I'll get a quick scan to take a look. I would want to know if they can see if they are in 2 different sacs(lower risk twins). If so, I would most likely still go ahead with my homebirth plans. I really hate birthing in the hospital so my main reason for being terrified of twins is the fact that I'd get harassed by others to do just that. I have no twin feeling at all...I'm just a bit nervous.I guess I have another 3 months til I have an idea.....sigh

I think lots of people worry about twins in the early days when they feel particularly sick or are especially big early - but the mums I know who really did/are having twins didn't have a clue until they went for their 12 week scan! FX for however healthy babies you have baking in there and for exactly the birth that you want :D

They were EVERYWHERE. Back, front, up, down, side to side, and my cervix was killing me (that was prob because my other baby was trying to implant there. :()It was kinda awful TBH.
