Question regarding my situation
HI!!! I've got a question!
Just wondering what your take is on my situation- I am thinking of going to an RE, although I don't know how much one could help me since I could only afford maybe one IUI if I needed. I have an amazing doctor who only practices gyn at this point, but she has been sort of "watching" over me and helping me along in this journey.
So, I am 35 and my DH is 39. My daughters are from a previous husband, and I had no trouble getting pg or with the pregnancies at all. I was 26 and 29 when they were born. We've been ttc for over a year now, and have had 2 m/c, one at 5wks in January, and one at 10wks (empty sac) in May. I took 3 months off after that and then started 50mg of Clomid last month. I just had my 2nd round, and am thinking it didn't work again. I am 12dpo, but still having negative tests and I'm not feeling pg at all. My doctor knows I do ovulate, but she thought we'd try the lowest dose of Clomid to see if it helped a more mature egg come out.
I've had FSH (7), progesterone, thyroid, prolactin, and the clotting panel done, and all checked out great. I am thinking that I should have my DH do the SA at this point, even though he's gotten me pg a couple of times now. He is a ballet dancer and wears restrictive clothing, which is not my favorite thing, but does take steps to cool himself down like boxers, etc. Also, he had a testicular tortion about 10 years ago from lifting a heavy ballerina, but the doctor told him it would not affect his fertility. He has quit smoking about 2 months ago, thankfully. I have had him on a slew of supplements that are supposedly good for sperm: folic, zinc, L-Arginine, L-Cartinine, Antioxidants, pumpkin seed oil, vitamin E, vitamin D....a multivitamin also.
What are your thoughts at this juncture? I REALLY appreciate your help, and am so glad you are here! Thank you!
