So I just ovulated and am officially within a month of our first try. :-)
My question is... Should dh only release every 4 days? Release frequently but inside of me every 4 days or just abstain and have the one attempt?
I'm sure this has been asked a million times but now that I'm getting close to it I just want to have it all figured out. He keeps asking me if he gets to frequent release :rolleyes: lol
If you have just ovulated your best chance of getting pregnant is in the next 48 hrs

Frequency and abstain hasn't proven to sway at all, just the one attempt anywhere in your fertile period seems to matter , so you can go about it one of two ways- you can either dtd every 4 days unprotected from af to af, thereby catching a single attempt near O, or you can have DH release every 2-4 days (with you protected or on his own) and have a single unprotected attempt at your first positive opk. Either way will keep you at a single attempt in your window with a reasonable amount of healthy sperm. A long abstain can hurt fertility in the wrong way, and too frequent of release can lower sperm count too much to get pg at all.

No, it isn't. No pregnancy has ever occured the day after ovulation. THe egg only lives 12-24 hours max and many eggs don't even live that long.Quote:

It all depends on how big a hurry you are in to conceive and how strict a sway you want to start off with. If you want to start off with a pretty darn strict sway, then you'd do frequency (such as abstain or daily release for 7-10 days) plus one attempt. Some people even want to do timing. It is totally fine to start off very strict just to have no regrets and then drop one or two things per month.Quote:

Then the next month you might want to go to every 4 days unprotected sex. Most people DON'T start off doing that though. Most people want to try it at least a month or two with more sway tactics. The people who generally start off with every 4 days are those who don't like/can't use OPKs, are in a big hurry to get pregnant, whose husbands won't play ball...er, so to speak..., or are older and just need to get pregnant as quick as possible.
:agree: totally but many people do feel like they want to start off doing those things so they can have no regrets. That is ok provided that you guys drop the "right" things first (meaning the things that are not working) while keeping the one attempt as long as you can. What we DON'T want to see is people keeping timing and frequency, while adding attempts. That's what we were doing in 2011 and 2012 and our results were in the toilet then compared to what they are since we figured out that the one attempt was really what was swaying. :/Quote:
