Caffeine???

Why can't DH just listen and follow the rules?! :nono: I thought I was ovulating yesterday so we DTD right when DH got home last night. I specifically told him to continue with his diet through 2WW... we actually talked about this a few times. Well low and behold, I DIDN'T ovulate yesterday. I am right now... all the signs are there. So I think we're going to DTD again this evening... call DH to tell him and he says "ooops". He drank a red bull, diet coke and coffee today!!! WTH?! Is this totally going to mess things up?

Why can't men just listen?! Ah! Should be an interesting time DTD since I'm mad at him :sigh:

I don't think it will hurt as it wasn't something he did continuosly iykwim? xx If overall he reduced his caffeine prior to sex you should be fine ;)

My DH hasn't stopped the coffee. He isn't trying very hard with this whole swaying thing. I finally got him to start on decaf a week ago, but he still drinks it twice a day. I think the acidity of the coffee is bad, isn't it? Anyway, one day of caffeine isn't too bad, and besides, DH is supposed to have a cup before DTD, so how bad can it be?

My DH drank no caffeine with DS 1 and 2 and tons with DS 3 and 4! I don't think the caffeine is in any way make or break.

I agree though that the one day of caffeine isn't going to impact the sperm very much at all. It's the day in, day out, over time accumulated damage that you gotta watch out for.

Chronic long-term caffeine use (in high doses) can make sperm count/ quality decline in addition to being acidic.

He has a 16 oz coffee (homemade) once or 2x a day... is that bad? He did switch to decaf, but only a week ago. Most days it's only one cup of coffee. I'd say he drinks 2 cups once a week.

So 2 cups a week? I don't think that will do too much harm at all IMO?

No, I meant he drinks one cup a day (16 oz) but once or twice a week, he has 2 cups.

NO, I don't think that's bad. The guys at my husband's work with all girls are drinking several of those gargantuan energy drinks per day, not just a little coffee.
