talk to me about your 1st post partum period

I got my first period after DS1 around 8 months post partum, it was light and easy.

Got my first post partum period after DS2 around 3 months (we were supplementing with formula for health reasons so not surprised it came so early) and it was HEAVY and horrible!

Here I am 10 months post partum with DD1 (baby no. 3) and still no period. I've been having horrible period-like cramps for 5 days now yet no AF. I am running to the bathroom what feels like every 5 minutes to check and still no AF, but I feel like it has to come any minute now. I am also having horrific mood swings, feel bad for my hubby bc I am seriously being a bitch and I can't eve help it right now. I am having the craziest EWCM you have ever seen (sorry TMI) it's dripping all the way from my hoo-ha to the toilet water! Gross. This has been going on for 5 days and I just don't know whats going on!

Do you think the EWCM means ovulating? Why am I cramping so bad?

I had this happen to me too! I think it's our body gearing up to ovulate and resume fertility. After I had a few days of snot like EWCM, I got my period 15 days after the last day of it. Then I had a really long cycle, 43 days. We will see what this cycle is like.

I really thought my period would have returned by now, but I am also kinda glad it hasn't as I;m assuming it means I am less fertile and we'd like to maybe try for another girl so that might help!

Even though I get mine back quickly, they are quite erratic. I think the diet and exercise is having a lot to do with mine being all over the place.

So ends day 6 of terrible period cramps. No AF, no more EWCM so hoping I o'ed and these cramps will go away!!

Are you still feeding? I found that I got awful cramps and pms, like my period was coming, then would be supressed by the feeding, it was a never ending cycle of pms, that only corrected itself when I stopped feeding and finally had a period. It was one of the reasons I weaned, it was agony!

1st - I never stopped bleeding until 8 weeks PP then had a period right at the end of it despite EBF. Cycles really long and irregular till about 8 months then normal.

2nd - again bled for a long time (6 weeks) then had period at 4 months then nothing until 7 months, then back to normal. It was only after my second that I really started getting the bad O cramps and then it was off and on.

I could not tell you if I had normal LP with these. I doubt it because I was EBF but didn't know enough about cycles then.

3rd - again 6 weeks bleeding, then went away for a few days, came back with another 2 weeks bleeding after that. nothing till 7 months then one very heavy period, went away again for another 3 months and then caught next egg, never got period

4th - Less lochia, only about 3 weeks. then nothing until 15 months. Then totally back to normal 0-60 right away, had a chemical the first month but Oed and got AF like normal the following month. I had false ovulations, one in particular which sounds like what you're describing where I had EWCM and increased libido but AF just never came. Bad O cramps nearly every month.

5th - barely any lochia, only about 10 days. Nothing till 20 months, back to normal right away. I have had really strong libido and lots of EWCM starting really early in the cycle ever since sometimes as early as CD 3. Also terrible O cramps nearly every month. :/ (I'm about over this BS LOL)

I think you're either Oing or about to. The cramps may be from gearing up to O and not AF. I hardly ever get AF cramps at all, but O cramps, boy howdy, they're life altering LOL.

I am still breastfeeding so I think that has a lot to do with it. I've not been temping or doing OPKs so o don't really know what's going on. I'm just tired of cramping. The mood swings have ceased and the EWCM is gone but the cranking is horrible! I want to keep BFing but this is killer!

It's als o amazing how much variation each woman has!

And also amazing the variation over the course of your life, when you look back on it!
