Help!! What should I do????

Hello everyone, so Ive been trying to sway for a boy and my attempt should be coming up soon, but heres the thing I was following one of my apps. That is usually right ( ladytimer) and at first it said I was supposed to ovulate on August 3rd/4th, but I had started my period a day or two early so it moved it to the 1sr of August. I was worried because I dont have any cm which I usually do, so I went and looked at my other app. Fertility friend and it says I am do to ovulate on Wednesday the 3rd, so I went back and looked at all the months and it looks like I have been ovulating on cd13 or cd14 except for in June I ovulated early. So it looks fertility friend may be right, but we have already started our hold off for 3 days now, Im wondering should I just have him release tonight since I won't be ovulating until Tuesday or Wednesday or should we just wait? I am worried because I dont want to long of a hold off, but then again I'm worried because what if I do ovulate Monday then I won't have a long enough hold off, Man I'm all confused. I am starting to see a little cm today which I usually start seeing it about 2 to 3 days before, and I usually start seeing 2 lines on my ovulation test the day before I get my positive, but still only 1 line today. Someone please give me advice on what I should do, should we continue our hold off, or BD today then start the hold off tomorrow, and if so is that a long enough hold off?

The more sperm the better for blue. Personally I would DTD every day for the next 4 or 5 days and twice on the day you get your +opk.

Am work pearl, I don't know much about swaying blue but I thought you had to have lots of attempts in your fertile window? Does your dh have low sperm count? If not I would be bding as much as possible, gl and blue dust x

I'm not sure if he has low sperm count, but he is over 40.

Please don't bump your posts unless they've been up for like a week. I answer from oldest to newest and when you bump it, it just goes to the "newest" and it takes me even longer to get to them. I try to reply to all questions within 3-5 days absolute max so wait that long before bumping and you'll get a much faster response from me. :)

Apps do not tell you when you will ovulate. They guess when you MAY ovulate. So what I would do is BD every 2 days from now on and then when OPK goes positive (or the day before you believe you will ovulate), have 3 attempts in addition to the every 2 day schedule - so keep going with that, and then try to have an attempt the night of the positive, again the next mornign if you can, and again the following night, and then again the next day. Continue with the every 2 days even after you think you Oed.

You do not need to hold off for 4 days between BD. Anywhere between 2-4 days all good. And once the fertile window opens, more sperm is better, so even if it's smaller batches (which it will be having more attempts and all), the sperm will be able to stay alive thanks to the EWCM so you're adding more and more and more sperm to the mix (even if it arrives in slightly smaller batches) I hope that makes sense it's kind of hard to explain.

When the fertile window is open, the sperm can stay alive inside of you. So it's not "wasted" like it would be if you had lots of attempts early in the cycle (DH would both be depleted with his sperm count AND those sperm would not survive without the EWCM) Especially O-2 thru early in O Day...all those troops have a good shot at the egg so the more the merrier.

To give an example, let's say he makes 50 mil per batch with 4 day holdoff. That sounds great, right?? But if you guys were having more attempts than that, even if each batch was smaller, it would still add up to be more sperm. So like a shot on o-2, on night of o-1, next morning, again that night...even if each of those batches only averaged 20 million, that's still way more than the 50 mil one shot batch, if that makes any sense.

The 4 day hold only really makes sense for those who insist on Shettles timing. One shot on O Day so let's make it as huge as possible. The rest of us (including those who have lots o' boys already, since the vast majority of us had more than one round of BD when we got our boys) don't need to maximize count with one shot since we are having more than one shot, if that makes any sense.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense! It's hard to explain. You just want highest possible sperm numbers and there is more than one way to go about that depending on how many attempts you want to have.
