MaterniT21 Plus Results are in!!

So I had my MaterniT21 Plus test done at 11 weeks and got the results today!! Genetic counselor says it's a healthy girl!! When I asked about the accuracy, she said its over 99% accurate but occasionally they get it wrong. So I started googling and found a bunch of forums that had women describing being told girl but it was actually a boy.

Do I need to be concerned about this?? I was so sure it was another boy that I am not sure I am going to believe it until I see the girl parts!! I would've been happy either way even though we swayed for girl and I am over the moon but I feel like I would be heartbroken now that I was told girl but it turned out to be boy.
Also, do I include my sway in the confirmed girl page now? Or wait til I have u/s confirmation?

I had a nipt test done at 16 weeks and was told girl. I was also a little worried as its hard to believe i guess when you cant see it. I had my 20 week scan yesterday and its definitely a baby girl. GL x

I felt the same way had a panorama done and it said girl as well but was super nervous to tell anyone or get excited in case it was wrong- 14 week 20 week and 30 week ultrasounds all confirmed girl!! I did post on here though as I knew these ladies would be the most supportive and understanding if it was wrong- waited for the ultrasound confirmation before I shared with most family and friends bc I was nervous - so I completely understand how you feel <3

Congratulations Kellbell!! So exciting. I am sure it is hard to fully trust the results but at least you still have a good chance it is for sure girl. Hope your next scan can confirm for you.

Congrats to pinkin and Catie on their girl confirmations too. I get so excited when I see sway success. Hoping to join that success story soon.

Materniti21 is by far and away more reliable than ultrasound. You are having a girl Kell!!

If you read 9 out of 10 of those forums, they are people who either had a DIY at home blood test (not the same thing as Materniti21) OR had an ultrasound that looked boyish and then never came back to confirm at birth (meaning they did end up having exactly what the blood test told them in the first place.)

Nothing is 100% but compared to ultrasounds the Materniti 21 is so, so, so much better and reliable. yes yes please do an add your sway!
