Attempted too soon AGAIN.

So, I think we had our attempt too soon. I'm not ovulating on schedule this month. I finally got two identically dark lines on a test Friday, and out of worry that I would miss my chance, we BD that night. I then tested again Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and the test line was quite darker. I told myself that I would wait for the test line to be darker this time, because with this particular brand of test, that seems to be the true positive, but with ovulating late, I was scared I would miss the small window.

I would attempt tonight, but that would put us at 2 attempts, and sway boy. I've not been that great with the diet, so the 1 attempt is the strongest sway factor that I've got going for me. Then, I consider my age, and wonder if it's unrealistic to think I can get pregnant with just 1 attempt.

Do you think we still have a chance?

Ohhhhhh, i hear you! The cut off timing is so tricky to get just right.

DH competely zonked out on me the night we were supposed to try. I didnt have a +opk yet so i hoped that i could still do something the next mornng....buuuuuuut....i had a +++opk then and it was now firmly BOY territory.

So now. Only have my 1 attempt which is a 2.5/3 day cutoff (when i was aiming for 1.5-2). Booo!

Atomic says i can still get pg with this timing and i have gotten pg before with even worse 3.5-4 day cutoff.

Last month i had my 1.5 daycutt off but still no pg!

I am of the opinion that it is egg quality which determnes pg and not so much the timing. If the egg is good, then the sperm can fertilize it even a few days out. If the egg is crappy, then even bd right on top of O wont result in pg.

Atomic always says to BD with the FIRST +OPK which it sounds like you did. There is a good chance Friday's BD is good if you O'd today or tomorrow. All depends on O day.

We BD day before a positive OPK and only one attempt and im 39 and got a bfp that month (Aug)! So yes, it can happen and good luck!! xx :)

You can get pregnant with one attempt (I did at 41 and 1/2) but your previous attempt was quite a long time ago and thus I urge you to have another attempt ASAP if you haven't already.

Yes but if it goes on and on after that and people don't think they've Oed, at some point we have to have another go round or else we miss the whole month. The nice thing is that if you did O sooner, then the egg will usually be fertilized or dead and gone by the time the second attempt occurs, and if you O later, the second attempt will then cover it.
