Nuts and many seeds are very high in fat so I wouldn't seek them out as part of the LE diet, but a handful of nuts on a salad or a nut butter on toast can be a better choice than meat for your protein and fat requirements if you aren't getting your totals elsewhere already. I think peanuts, in particular, are not very nutritious if you can afford the fat.
