Your opinion on my chart - ovulation and luteal phase

I am attaching my chart. I am not sure whether CD 13 or 14 was the day I ovulated. I have Fertility Friend set to FAM. What confuses me is that I usually ovulate two days after my first OPK positive. This month, according to Fertility Friend, I ovulated the next day after my positive / peak. I did get my first positive early in the day on CD 12 though so maybe that's why? I'm also confused because I thought FAM required a temp jump of. 2 degrees above the previous five days, and mine only went up. 1 the day after it says I ovulated. I also would have thought my coverline should be 97.5, not 97.2, since my CD 12 temp was 97.4. Honestly, I'm sort of comforted if I really did o on CD 13, since we didn't attempt until that evening on CD 13 (if so I would guess that's a good reason why it didn't work this month)...Im guessing the evening of O day is probably too late. Unfortunately he wasn't in town the night of my peak :-( This month I plan to at least attempt evening of Peak, if not the night before too if possible.

I am also worried about the length of my luteal phase. It never seems to be longer than 12 days, and many cycles it is 11 days. Is this too short to conceive successfully? I would be reassured to hear if there are any ladies who conceived with an 11-12 day luteal phase. I am calling my GYN tomorrow to see if she can run some tests on me this cycle (including a 7 dpo Progesterone test).

Well, things can change with swaying and there is no rule that says you have to always have the same amount of time after a positive OPK till ovulation.

Just going off the chart it looks to me like the crosshairs are correct. Now, charting has been shown to only be correct 1 out of 3 times so it may be wrong.

Re LP - your doc does not need to do a progesterone test. 12 days is totally NORMAL. 11 days is very nearly normal and is more than enough time to get pregnant with. :)

I never thought about how swaying could impact the length of time between surge and O, but that makes a lot of sense. I will just have to realize from now on that once I get my OPK positive, I may not have a lot of time to work with. I think I'm just frustrated with my body (and my OH, to be honest), because it seems like if we attempt early, I ovulate later after the surge, and now on a cycle where we attempt later, my O comes much sooner. I think we are just going to have to do what we can to make sure we can at least get good attempts in close to my positive from now on (like that day and maybe the day before).

That makes me feel better about the LP length. I think I'm just overly concerned about that because a couple years back, when I had been newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I had some issues with LP (temps going under the coverline, ten and even sometimes nine day LPs, and a Prog level of 10.4 (the only time my progesterone level was tested) - my doc told me 10 is the minimum they like to see at 7 dpo so I was testing borderline then. But now that my thyroid levels are testing well within normal, and my LP being longer / higher temps, I probably need to not worry about it and attribute the LP issue in the past to the low thyroid levels.

And of course, when a cycle is unsuccessful, it is easier to try to find something "wrong" because then perhaps I can do something about it next time and feel a sense of control over the whole thing (which I logically know is not possible).

Not only is your LP fine, your post-O temps are high enough that I don't think you have any progesterone issues.
