Hi,
As the title says. Those who conceived a girl, did you use Shettles or O+12? Or did you use one method and you conceived a boy with it?
Thanks.

Thanks, will go and have a read...
No problem, it's a really useful read.
I have 4 girls. I know for a fact my 3rd we BD around 5 days BEFORE I ovulated and that was it. With the 4th she was a suprise baby lol breastfeeding and had not even had a cycle back. One unprotected heated moment and bang! 2nd and same with my mc's we DTD every day since AF - BFP!
Thanks TTC5.
NP :)
GeCon, several of my boys were conceived with Shettles timing of varying lengths. Only DS 3 was a deliberate Shettles attempt and the lady who told me about Shettles failed to mention the abstinence part of it LOL!!! It doesn't matter though because DS 1 and 2 were both cutoffs before O anyway.
The entire female reproductive tract is designed to keep sperm alive as long as possible, lying in wait for an egg. With the way the female RT is designed, it's pretty likely that most of the people alive on the face of the earth, both male and female, were conceived with sperm already in there long before the egg was even released.
In my experience, it is very very difficult to get pg with O+12 because many eggs don't even LIVE 16 hours past ovulation (O+12 means you wait 12 hours after O and then the fastest that sperm can capacitate is four hours after that) and I personally prefer that people try and conceive as soon as they can while swaying pink, because diet is much more proven to sway than O+12. If you go on for many months getting BFN, you're more likely to give up the things that are "painful" like diet.

The Shettles essay is not as thorough about the history and drawbacks of Shettles as the O+12 essay is, but you can find that info in this essay if you're interested http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...rm-and-Y-sperm
