functioning cyst, delay of cycle?

Hi ladies, I was scheduled to start my injectable today, but during my ultrasound the doctor found a cyst on my left ovary. They did the standard blood work, and I should know in a few hours what the results are, but has anyone had a cycle delayed due to a functioning cyst? How were they determined by blood work, and what did you do to get rid of them? I've had cyst on the same ovary for the last two cycles, so I'm pretty nervous. Thank you
