Atomic - I have now been TTC for 7 months...

and I'm 37 years old. I know they say you are supposed to get evaluated by a fertility specialist if you're over 35 and it is taking more than 6 months. WDYT? Here is my background:
Got PG at 32 with DS, first attempt
Got PG at 34, first attempt, ended in m/c, took a TTC break
Got PG at 36, first attempt (with swaying), ended in m/c and we've been TTC ever since
and now its been 7 months...
I am starting to worry that maybe something else is going on, or maybe its just my advanced age? I wouldn't mind making an appointment just to have everything checked out so I can have peace of mind that nothing else is wrong.
I just feel kind of strange telling a doctor I'm having trouble TTC when I am clearly doing things to reduce my (and DH's) fertility.
My other thought is to drastically reduce my sway (cut out all jellies, and just go with Benadryl and diet) and give that another 6 months before making an appointment.
What do you think? Would love your thoughts,

I'd go ahead and accept the tests if they're offering - at least then you'd know whether it was swaying that was causing issues or some underlying cause
although I think I'd also reduce your sway to just the Benadryl and the diet too and do less to lower your DH's sperm count too

It's a tough balance, isn't it? I'm 37 too, and I'm constantly second-guessing whether I'm doing too much to sway. Last summer it took me 4 months to get pregnant, and I kept dropping parts of my sway until I had only a half-assed frequent release, antihhistamines and diet in my favour. I lost that baby, so I have no idea whether the sway worked. I did end up using a bit of rephresh for the attempt I just finished, but if I don't get my BFP this month, I'll be dropping it entirely next month.

I agree with the others that you might as well go ahead with the tests, but also ease up on your sway a bit. Good luck!

I agree with the others. Maybe drop some of the more harsh things but carry on with the diet and benadryl, baby aspirin and pep tea and also maybe the red raspberry leaf tea which is good for uterine lining. Then go to the doctors too. Good luck!

I would drop the jellies. It was taking me forever to get pregnant, so I dropped the Rephresh & Acijel and just used Sylk as a lube. At least that way the sperm was still having to get through the low pH of Sylk but wasn't being completely killed off by Rephresh/Acijel.

I would take the test. I am doing the same, since it is taking me so long to conceive. I had to add more to my diet because I was losing my hair. i have been on the diet since May, and slowly I have been adding things back into my diet. I have to get an HSG next month and I had my blood work last month.

If you're swaying, then that doesn't necessarily apply to you. Anything you do that is reducing your odds of conception, is, well, reducing your odds of conception, KWIM??

If you did go to see an RE, you might be able to get some Clomid that can help your sway, but over 35, Clomid doesn't always work (they'll be able to tell this tho because of what your FSH numbers are.)

Personally, I would drop ALL sway tactics before I expended time and energy on a fertility specialist...but that having been said, it's been many years since you've had a full term pg and it might give you peace of mind to have things checked out. Plus you might be able to get Clomid that way if you wanted to.
