On one hand I feel like it would be good to eat like normal again and then shock my body when I got back on it for 2 weeks. But are 2 weeks off and 2 weeks on ok or should I just always stay on it?

I'd stay on it constantly
I'd have the odd cheat day.this is what I've been doing.for the 2 months of doing the LE diet including over Christmas I've had 5 cheat days in total.on these days I've mostly gone over on sodium, all other days I've been very strict and within all limits.the days I cheated I just didn't feel great so wanted a little pick me up.I'm still 100% happy to attempt this cycle and I won't even give the cheats a second thought as I really do believe with my weight loss and being within limits MOST days I've done enough for my body to think times are hard.GL !
It is ok to have a cheat now (even a bad DAY) and then but if you are doing 2 W on, 2 W off it is pointless and you may as well just eat normally. Your body stores nutrients whenever it can get ahold of them.
Testosterone and estrogen take a really long time to go down so if you are inconsistent you just end up undoing whatever good you did during the 2 weeks.
In your case tho MommyDuke, since you've been on the diet for so long, I do hope you give yourself some leeway to ease up a bit. I'm not saying eat normally, but you shouldn't be totally depriving yourself either. Esp. with salt, I think that's hte least important part of the diet and I know it's super tough to stick to in the long term.
I know a few girls who did crash diets just days or weeks before conception and had girls doing this. It makes sense to me but do you not agree with that>?
I always had a few cheats during the 2ww but never went off the diet completely.
Good luck with your decision. I'm having a hard time only b/c I don't have much more weight I'd really want to lose. I'm just eating normal, but very little to maintain and then I'm going to go hardcore come March to give myself 6 weeks. Are you doing any other sway tactics? Maybe cut one of those to get preggo quicker? I don't know your whole story...so I could be completely off....
I guess research is just so strong that diet is REALLY important and I'd rather see you forget timing or something else....kwim?

What makes the Testosterone and Estrogen? Is it protein in meat products? Or is just losing weight that decreases them? I was curious about a "crash" diet prior to O to.....
Testosterone and estrogen are made from the fats in your diet and also you stored body fat. (in fact, fat actually makes estrogen itself) Having a lot of muscle sends a message to your body to keep making testosterone because muscle needs testosterone to best be sustained. So since fat is the building block of T and E, the fact that body fat actually makes estrogen, and muscle signals for more T to be made, losing weight on a lowfat diet is the way to go for pink,.
The protein comes into play because protein sustains muscle, and muscle = more testosterone. plus cals of anything can cause fat to be stored.
T and E levels take awhile to drop, so a crash diet prior to O won't help reduce them. however, dieting jsut prior to O can help with blood sugar and pH, so it has its benefits too.
Do remember tho that it isn't always enough to rob yoru body of the raw materials to make T and E, if you are sending other signals to your body that you need T levels to stay high (like taking on a lot of new, detail oriented projects - aka SWAYING) or competiton (your body may interpret swaying stress as competition), your body may keep your T levels elevated anyway. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...ly-demand.html
