Please help me! ECP did not work, have I ruined it?
Hi there, this might be a bit long please bare with me.
Hubby and I have decided to try and sway for a little girl being our 3rd and final baby.
I was expecting for my Ovulation to be end of May but that didn’t happen because I had a very stressful month so obviously that put it off. But I have been decreasing my calorie intake for the month prior, I have always been a gym junkie so worked out 6 days a week mixture of cardio and weights. Started taking Folic Acid and cranberry and magnesium and calcium. With low sodium and avoided tomatoes, bananas and potatoes. Added in a few alcoholic drinks (I never drank before my boys) and also drank more Diet Coke then ever before and also since having my boys I drink about 2 coffees a day sometimes 3 for the past 4 years...
Fast forward, I had my IUD taken out on 11 of June 2020. Had a little bit of spotting but nothing bad. I had stopped tracking with OPK a few days before that due to not ovulating so I thought I just had anovulatory cycle (which I have spoke to my doctor about and she said it was normal). Then on the 12th (next day) I started to feel ovulation pain which I thought was I was out that cycle (I always get that pain every month) so had a feeling I was actually either have ovulated or due to ovulate so took a test and it immediately positive but was not blazing.
I don’t know why I did it but I was reading on a few FB swaying pages and I did see a few swayers who swayed with using Rephresh before and after and had success. So I thought maybe I could try that and see. So the night of BD: I had a drink (vodka with cranberry and diet sprite, I took antihistamine (not on purpose due to an allergy as I have very dry and itchy finger nails and hands), That morning I had a coffee also with equal. I did check my Ph and it was already at 4.5 so I thought I should try a finger tip of Rephresh a couple of hours. We did missionary with no O for me and I J&D after 5 mins, checked PH combined was 7, then another fingertip of Rephresh and didn’t check after that.
I check the following morning and I went back to 4.5 so I didn’t want to jeopardise it.
Through the following day I had this massive guilt of it not working and that I shouldn’t have done it and was extremely anxious and stressing myself out, so I spoke to my husband and made the decision to purchase Plan B (emergency contraceptive pill) because I regretted jumping the gun too too soon and I have ruined everything. Took it approximately 20 hours after DTD. Thinking it was going to work...
Well... 2 weeKs later (expecting my AF to show) it did not, but noticed my breasts were really sore and sensitive. So I thought I’d make sure that I’m not pregnant, took not 1 but 5 different pregnancy tests. Immediate BFP. 😭😭😭
Why did it not work? We DTD possibly past peak probably even hours before I ovulated. I don’t know what to think because i thought ECP would’ve worked. I’m so so scared and saddened that this may be a boy because I conceived my boys day of LH surge and day after. BUT, this time we BD on the 6th of June, then again on the 12th and again on the 17th (fertile window was from the 9-14th).
I guess I just need to know if I have ruined it? Is my chance for a boy fairly high? I only started cutting calories a month prior...
