Clomid questions

Hello there,

I was prescribed provera and clomid this month (first time) due to no period (45days) and no ovulation for past few months.

Today is day 12 and I had an ultrasound. I was told I have 1 follicle measuring 13mm and to have sex on Thursday only then come in for another test on Friday.
That’s all I’ve been told.

Are we only supposed to have sex on that day only?
Does only one follicle give me a low shot of ovulation?
Can you get pregnant with twins if there’s only 1 follicle?
Any advice to help that 1 follicle grow or ensure I do actually ovulate?

Sorry to be vague, I have no idea about fertility medication and unsure who to ask besides the nurse who didn’t give much more info.

Swaying girl and read clomid can help so hopefully that’s a bonus!

Editing to add - I recently read a study that said “Long menstrual cycles raises risk of miscarriage by 130%” which of course now has me stressed due to having a MC previously and not wanting to go thru that again. That cycle was long :(

Hmm I don't know why they told you to have sex Thurday only. I guess to be sure you're not "wasting" attempts by having them too early?

I would have an attempt that day because one attempt would sway pink, then report back with what they said.

One follicle is just as likely to be ovulated as more than one.

You could still get pregnant with identical twins. It is also possible that they missed a follicle, that actually happens fairly regularly.

Your body knows how to grow follicles. Nothing you do helps that (and in fact, a lot of things like herbs and stuff people take can actually interfere with it.) Just trust your body to do what it already knows how to do.

:agree: yes Clomid does sway pink.

130% just means that if 1 person had a miscarriage, now 2 do. a big sounding number like 130 sounds HUGE but it's only a minor increase. AND, numbers games aside, the modern thinking on that is that it is NOT long cycles that increase losses, it's the REASON for the long cycle. PCOS to be specific, and that is NOT the reason why your cycle was long. Please put this worry out of your head now because it does not apply to you and you are not at any greater chance of loss. MANY MANY MANY people on this site have successful pregnancies after long cycles or even as a result of ovulation IN a long cycle.
