TTC Boy - Did i mess up the timing part!

Hi all,

Yesterday night around 12 PM, i got smiley face and so, as planned decided to do my attempt right then and there. Everything was going perfect but just before my hubby could finish, my daughter started crying...we tried to hurry...but he could not concentrate and i had to go. I spent almost 45 mins to put her back to sleep and after that my hubby could not perform :mad:

I then decided to just skip this month n we just went to sleep. However, in the morning i just couldn't handle missing/skipping another month and so decided to give it another try. Long story short, we BD'd around 12:30 PM today...almost 12-13 hrs after first Smiley face. Earlier my plan was to BD ASAP once i get smiley. I'm not sure when do i ovulate after +OPK. Though my LH surge went negative around 3 PM. Was i too late??

Also, what about the swimmers from last night...which he could not release....is that good or bad for TTC boy?? I had 2 big O last night but only one okay one today...and overall, we were not happy with everything ...so it was not as hot as we had thought.

I'm really freaking out thinking that i must be in the GIRL zone O time wise?? Plz share your honest opinions.

The LH surge happens a day or 2 before you ovulate, so i think your timing was spot on. You could even have another attempt tonight if you want to, it wouldn't hurt your chances.

I am freaking out because i think atomic said that for Boy, one should BD ASAP or max 12 hrs later. However, we will see if i even get pregnant or not bcoz i used egg white for my attempt. Does negative OPK means that ovulation is over? Because my OPKs were definitely negative by 3 PM. Actually, earlier i used to have good O pain and that used to be an indicator of ovulation for me. But for past few months, once i started drinking grapefruit juice regularly, the O pain just doesn't happen. I do not temp bcoz that's too confusing for me.

Your timing was actually just perfect if you were trying for BD on O. The best science we have indicates that timing doesn't actually sway gender anyway. The rest of the stuff you were doing to sway is much, much more important!

It may have even helped your attempt if DH was a little "backed up" - there may have been a bit more sperm in there than otherwise!! :)

No, negative OPK DOES NOT mean that ovulation is over. It simply means that your SURGE is over. Ovulation happens on average 36 hours after your pos opk and many people get negatives before they ever ovulate.

The reason I say that is NOT because of "boy timing" or "girl timing" because I don't even believe in timing!! I say that because I want to improve people's odds of pregnancy and studies show that best odds of conception occur with BD before ovulation.

Thanks Atomic! your reply was helpful.....I have been reading swaying stuff for so long but still don't know so many stuff. I will sure temp if I have to do it again. The second day after the LH surge, my ph was 6 -6.5 naturally without BSF. Does this mean that my internal environment was acidic during actual fertilization? However, it was around 8-8.5 the day and day after
LH surge.

Oh goodness, no! Your vagina is naturally very low in pH so when your EWCM enters your vagina, it can often lower in pH but that pH tells you next to nothing about the pH up inside - and it's that pH that counts!

BTW - pH of 6-6.5 is not bad at all!
