Me! I was vegetarian for 3 months before I conceived (with maybe one bacon slip-up!).
I did for 8 weeks and I am having a girl.
I did the full-out vegetarian LE diet and I'm having a girl!
I'm vegetarian and had all girls while eating no red or white meat but ate a lot of dairy, cheese, chocolate, tomatoes, potatoes, pasta dishes with cheesy and tomatoey sauces and lots of broccoli but when I stopped eating most dairy and pasta and introduced soy instead of dairy I got preggy with a boy. Another vegie friend of mine was the same.
I was eating primarily vegan, and had for years prior when I conceived my son. Guess I'm an anomaly. :/
I was usually a big meat eater so stopped at the start of the year. Got pg after about 8 weeks and it's a girl. I also made everything from scratch and ate really healthy meals, not like my typical diet at all.

As vegetarians can any of you please recommend some evening meal ideas to me - ive been veggie now for a couple of weeks and really struggling with evening meals as cant find anything in the supemarkets that takes my fancy - I usually have some form of meat veg and potatoes at tea time and the space where the meat is sems to need filling !! - i love fish - all types but am trying to stay away from that too :-( Really hoping this helps me get my girl.. My mum has been a vegetarian all her life, 3 girls, 1 boy.
Of the 4 new female bubs at work, 3 have vegetarian mums.
I was going through a 'eating meat' stage in my life when DS was conceived.
I eat a lot of white rice, cheese, and steamed veggies. I make sure I measure everything out and stay within my limits. I also eat corn tortillas my new favorite is added rice with them, then some cheese, and either steamed veggies. Or yesterday I added some fresh salsa instead of the veggies. it was so good! I rarely eat pasta/bread because of the calories and protein. Fruits are good too, grapes strawberries, and apples with the skin off! Just be creative, stay within your limits and read the labels. I have had zero meat since April and Honestly I don't even think I will go back to it.
I think if I am pregnant with another boy this time around I am going to go vegetarian next time. It sounds convincing!
Just fyi, I have 2 boys and have been a vegetarian for over 17 years:( So hoping the LE diet on top of it pushed this last babe into a girl;)
Bummer... I always hope for an easy fix to get pregnant with a girl.
This makes me feel better about going vegetarian on this diet, it does seem more women have had great results. I wonder if the vegetarians that conceived boys ate a diet rich in proteins and veggies that have a lot of nutrients??
I am a very healthy vegetarian for sure! Tons of nutritional stuff, so yah tried the unhealthy veggie lifestyle this time!!
That's what I did too, was the unhealthy route! My mom told me when she conceived me she wasn't eating too well. She wasn't vegetarian, but said she definitely was not eating a diet rich in nutrients!
Vegetarian diets can be very high in protein. When on the LE diet I often looked in the freezer cabinet at veggie burgers/sausages and some of them would have used up my entire allowance of protein for the day. There were only one or two products I could make fit.
I don't even eat veggie burgers or anything like that. I am on a very unhealthy vegetarian diet

i was vegetarian with a few cheats for months and then pretty strict starting about 4 weeks before we conceived DD.
I'm vegan, and we're trying to conceive a girl. I can see where a vegetarian diet is much easier to make girl-friendly, however there are many things veg which sway blue such as salt, bananas, avocados, tofu (which I understand actually sways pink if the man eats it), soy, beans, antioxident-rich vegetables, etc. As far as my friends who are vegans go, only one so far has had a child, a girl, I went to school with her. But she also didn't have a lot of money when her child was conceived, so probably not eating well, and a few years earlier she had anorexia. But then also the one person I know who has been vegan since birth is a man. So being veg helps, it's certainly a healthy way to eat, but it's not substantial enough to rely on for swaying.
I think a lot of us are the unhealthy vegetarians.. I eat no avocados, no tofu, no beans. The veggies I mainly eat are steamed broccoli, steamed asparagus, and cucumber. I survive on white rice with the steamed veggies and low fat shredded cheese. and I do have pasta from time to time too. I have had avocado and bean cheats from time to time... but rarely!
The veggies that I am mostly eating are zucchini, aubergies without the outer violet peel, leeks, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce. Do you think they are all ok as low nitrient veggies please?
I was on a superfood kick for a while, which I've stopped as we're getting ready to sway, breakfast for me for a while was soy yoghurt with fruit and chia seeds mixed in. We're going to start TTC in March, right now breakfast is a smoothie made with strawberries, a apple, kiwis, kale, and ginger. Which sounds odd, but it's tasty, and I'm on a detox regime including that, regular saunas, etc to make sure my body is clean before a baby lives in there for 9 months. As of January, breakfast will be coffee with rice milk, and I'll be fully into the LE diet with food ideas from French Gender Diet incorporated. Our dinners will be a lot of pastas or vegetable stir fries with a side of tofu for my husband, still looking into good lunch ideas.
Now that we're shifting from superfoods to cheap student-style foods, our grocery bill is definitely going down. Which my husband and I say we'll definitely be more than making up for when our daughter is a teenager. :-P
I've heard that aubergines, cooked (NOT raw) tomatoes, cucumbers, and iceberg lettuce are supposed to be great, I can't remember about the others off the top of my head.
I have a friend of mine who was on diet before conceiving her baby and she ate mostly veggies and some chicken or fish, but not big portions of them. She did not have lots of pasta though as she says it has lots of carbs. Well she lost a lot of weight before conceiving and she got a girl.
Thanks Babystars Im not counting anything out except onion and garlic and thats just because they repeat on me - Im still eating potatoe ( jacket wihout the skin tiny bit of low fat sour cream as a topping) I eat tomatoes ( low sodium tinned tomatoes in curry ) I do not eat bananas anyway so they are not included. I also eat pasta but am trying to limit this to 1 or 2 portions per week and bulk it out with more veg.

Also, my reading that I've done on here and elsewhere does seem to suggest that being a raw foodist is probably not the best idea while trying to sway pink. I was untill recently trying to make a point of having 50% of my diet be raw foods, as fruits and vegetables lose their nutritional value when they're cooked. So it seems like it would help with the LE diet to cook vegetables as much as possible.
I think that's going to be the hardest part for me, as the way that my digestion functions and the amount of fresh fruits and veg I eat are very closely correlated.
You sound just like me! I've been veg my whole life and have 2 boys. But I def eat highly nutritional/superfoods- I don't count calories and try to consume healthy fats. I rarely eat anything processed and only eat sprouted grains. Sounds boring but once you get the hang of it, food just tastes so much better when you allow it to be "real". Anyhow, I think you def need the LE diet on top of being veg as its impossible to eat highly nutritional foods and stay within LE guidelines. All of the girl moms I know eat limited calories!
I am usually having cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes at noon with 2 slices of french unsalted loaf with cottage cheese. Then leave the rest of the veggies for dinner. I cut everything into small pieces, put them in frying pan, cover the pan, but instead of cooking them in oil, I add some water and leave them simmer until cook. The water gets absorbed in them. Then I either put the veggies in a tortilla, or on a matzo, then include either some rice, or noodles or couscous. Does it happen to you girls that when you cheat on some food which has either been bought take away or else prepared by someone else not by yourselves, that you taste the food as very salty? It's been such a long time since I started cooking without any salt at all that when I eat something with added salt to it, it tastes really really salty!
I'm eating a lot of grilled mushrooms (sometimes with a little grilled cheese) and griddled courgettes - or home made aubergine dip and homemade tortillas with lots of iceberg lettuce and other low nutrient veg.
At dinner time I have veggies with rice or rice noodles (like the ones in Pat thai) with no salt stock, cornflour, sugar and rice vinegar as a sauce.
I ate far more healthily with my two boys including seafood which I have cut out altogether.
BTW I think that cooked tomatoes are healthier as it makes the lycopene easier to absorb - so if TTC pink eat raw or not at all. It is one of the only foods that is better for you cooked.
Hopingforpigtails, you sound like the type of veg that I am! I prefer the natural food so much more, and will be right back on it with a vengeance once I know I'm pregnant! :-)
