If the woman is older than the baby's father then is the baby's gender always a girl?

A co-worker of mine told me their was study that said 86% of women who were older than the baby's father produced girls?

Is this true or their any women out there older than their baby's father and had a boy?

This study was based on the first child.

My mom was older than my stepdad and they had 1 b 1 g together.

If that is at all true, it's because older women do have statistically more girls than the general population - but I DOUBT it's 86%! I'd love to read it tho.

Thank God I know 2 couples IRL where wife is older then husband and both have boys. Otherwise I would be freaking out since I'm a year older then my DH lol!
One is our best man, his wife is 4 years older then him, they have :DS:, other is a teacher from my DD1 school, she is 6 years older then her husband, they have :DS: :DS:

I tried to find something on the internet about a study but nothing came up.
I asked my co-worker if he had the article he said no, he read that years ago.

I am a year older than my DH, and our first child was a girl. Our second child was a boy.

Oh, but I have a good friend who is several years older than her DH and they have 2 boys-- both born when she was a "mature mama" (one at 38, the other at 40).

If this were the case....I would have all girls right now then!

My grandmother's second husband was younger than she was and she had her first son with him (in her previous marriage, she had four daughters including my mother).

I'm older than DH but only by a month or so... we have a boy, BUT did have an inadvertent perfect blue sway lol

Well in my family, mum is 3yr older than dad and they have me and 3 boys. I am 5yrs old than dh and we have 2 boys. One db is 7yrs younger than dsil and they have 2 girls, one boy. Another db is older than dsil by 1yr and they have 2 girls. The other db and dsil can't have kids though we're still hopeful.

So from my experience, it isn't true.

This is great to hear. In every case that I know every time the woman is older, they have a girl. I know 4 couples that the woman was older than the man and the 1st born was a girl, but it looks like from all these posts that the theory is incorrect. Happy to hear its being proven wrong.

My mother was 38 when my half-brother was born and his dad was 34-35. The father smoked special cigs for about 10-15 years but ate a diet of 90% meat and nothing like fruits or veggies.

My dad was 40 when my half-sister was born and her mom was 41. Dad smoked special cigs for about 20 years at the time. Had GBGGG and he mostly ate a poor mans diet, believed the kids ate first and then he would ate what was left.

I'm younger than my husband and we have all girls :)

My mom was only 2 years older than my dad but they had just me.

my mom is 2 years older than my father = 2 children: boy & girl
my MIL is 2 years older than my FIL = 6 children: boy, girl, girl, girl, boy, boy

so doesn't seem to hold true for mine or my DHs families.

I'm older than DH by a few months and we have dd and ds on the way. My mil is older than my fil by a few years and their only child is my DH. She was late 30's, almost 40 when they had him.

My maternal grandmother married late for her time, she was several years (I think 6) older than my grandfather. She had 2 daughters then B/G twins but the boy died in utero.

not sure if I ever answered this but my mom has a boy and a girl with her second husband who's 8 years younger than her. :)

This is one of those "old wives tales" where it's best to take a step back and think for a minute - how would our bodies even KNOW that our partner was younger or older than us. They couldn't possibly know that and thus it is something that simply cannot sway.

My Dad is 9 months older than my Mum & they have 2 girls.

DH is 9 months older than me & we have 3 boys.
