Due in December/January/February 2013/14 Part 2!

Hi ladies!

All of this labor talk is so exciting! All of you due in December must be getting so excited! Can't wait to hear about new little bundles soon!

Meeks-I felt fine after my glucose test and here I am with GD so don't worry to much about symptoms after the test. I would have bet the house that I was going to pass this time. Let us know your results I am sure you are in the clear!

Rainbow-so glad you were able to get away! What a great idea! #5 is going to be so awesome!!!! I love big families!!!!!!

AFM-the drama continues.....I am now 1cm dialated at 31 weeks along with high blood pressure and gestational diabetes. This pregnancy has really kept me busy with worry. At the non stress test the dr asked "Are you feeling that?" My response feeling what? She said "feeling those contractions!" I said no! They kept me another hour or so had me lay on my left side and drink water and sure enough they stopped. But they wanted to check me anyway and the dr said "you are at a 1. Don't worry that can happen and some women walk around as a one for weeks and weeks!" So naturally I lost it bc I am just so frustrated with worry and trying to do everything right to keep this little girl in there for as long as possible. They reassured me if I did go into preterm labor they would do everything possible to stop the labor from progressing. I know that God has this pregnancy and its going to be fine but my mommy brain is really struggling over here. I just want her to be in there till January so she can be good and ready to come out but as we are right now that might not happen that way. Trying to stay calm and not worry, but it's so hard! So everyday she stays inside is a total blessing and I'm going to look at it that way. My next appt is Thursday.

My due date 1/14/14. With a c section at 39 weeks so somewhere around 1/7/14 (God willing she stays in there that long!) fingers crossed!!!!

Soar I was at 1cm for like 6 weeks with ds1, and still went to 42 weeks (which was actually 44 weeks by my dates) so it's totally possible. Drink lots and wee often, both being dehydrated and having a full bladder can cause Braxton hicks (those contractions you couldn't feel). You can usually tell you are having one by pressing on your tummy, it will go super hard during the contraction. I get them, but sadly they do nothing for my dilation. I have noticed I usually get a hot flush or strange feeling in my back, or need to wee when they are happening then I do the tummy check and sure enough...

Soar, I wouldn't really worry - I know.. hard not too! I was 4cm from 35 weeks with DS2 and lasted until 39 weeks. I was sure he'd be a lot earlier but nope! So given that.. I'm sure I was at least 1cm definitely by 30 weeks. I also had contractions from very early on.. this time too. Maybe being your 3rd your body is just preparing extra early, but will still hold her in. Try not to worry about everything.. I'm sure it'll all be okay!

Speaking of not worrying - just wondering if any of you have had experience with short femur measurements? At my 32 week ultrasound they measured a week behind. They didn't say anything, I just saw on the report when they gave it to me and asked the doctor and she made no deal of it at all. Well I went back today at 36 weeks and they are now measuring 2.5 weeks behind. I'm a little worried because everything makes it seem like that's a "soft marker" even though I think all was fine just up until my 32 week appt. DH and I both aren't super tall - he's 5'8/5'9 and I'm 5'5.. I just didn't have this issue with either of my boys. I have an appt. tomorrow with my OB so I'm going to ask but naturally I'm trying to not freak myself out!

Weird.. I'm similar! By temping and OPK I was sure I'd be due Dec.16th but ultrasounds and everything from the beginning have been right on with my LMP. I was sure I O'd late - but I did have a + or almost + OPK right on CD14 so maybe that was when I O'd - have no idea. We BD'd on both OPK's because they were way to positive looking (the temp shift happened after 2nd positive). My due date is Dec. 12 by my scans... so I have no idea when I O'd or what the actual deal is!

My last scan (before today) showed a shorted femur than all the other measurements. I also worried, though no one said anything. Today I had another scan and the femur was on track with other measurements.

Looking back on the measurements over various scans they deviate from eachother loads! I think the body parts grow at different rates and also we are not all the same with our measurements anyway!

I am due Feb. 26th, but tend to go a week or two early. :)

black&gold - Not to make light of your concerns at all, but maybe her legs are shorter because this is your girl! Hope so, and will pray that everything is just fine!

Due date = Dec. 10th
My guess = Nov. 27ish.....but baby is given the say....I am getting to have my Vbac in my hometown and supported fully by the specialist today!! Good news is the other specialist who I saw 8 weeks ago was not present today and this other individual was Heaven sent....so happy to update in this thread without a concrete date of arrival!!!!

I also think it's a bit variable on how careful the tech is being with measurements, 1mm in the wrong direction and you measure 1 or 2 weeks over or under. Its not a precise science, or not as precise as we would be led to believe!

I haven't had short measurements per se but at the scan 2 weeks ago they said she was measuring behind and so I asked about it Monday and they said she's right on target. I will be interested to see what they say at tomorrow's scan! I think Meeks is right if they are just slightly off then it gives you a behind or ahead measurement super easily. Ask your doctor for sure tho to feel better about it!

Ladybugs so glad you have a game plan and you had a nice visit! It makes such a difference when everyone is thinking positive!

Headed to my 3rd appt of the week tomorrow morning! Monday I was there 5 hours, lets hope it's not a repeat tomorrow!
