My husband has always been a big drinker -- 6+ beers 5-6 days a week.
Me too -- though I am a martini girl. I have one or 2 nearly every night.
We have 3 boys, so I don't know how much I believe it sways girl. Otherwise we would have one for sure!
Actually most my friends that have girls are all either social drinkers or drink very rarely. None drink daily at all or even close to daily.
It's what goes on in your body that matters, NOT the sway tactics themselves! Every person is an individual and is affected differently by different things. If your T stays high and husband's E stays low regardless of drinking, you'll still have more boys and if a person had low T/ DH had low T and or high E to begin with, they'll still have more girls.
Sway tactics are just a means to an end, not the end itself.
We never drink and conceived GGGGGBBGB.
my husband drinks almost every day (beer) and sometimes liquor mixed with juice or soda but thats not very often. i drink anywhere from 0 times a month - around 7 times. i was drinking rum the night i conceived my last son. im pretty sure i was drinking with another one of my boys as well.
I haven't read this study (and probably shouldn't LOL) but I found this VERY interesting:
ACUTE EFFECT OF ALCOHOL ON ANDROGENS IN PREMENOPAUSAL WOMEN
From a cursory glance, it appears that blood serum testosterone seems to rise after alcohol consumption. Atomic, have you seen this one?
So, hmmm... I may drop the alcohol altogether the cycle of my first attempt.
yes, I've seen that before. Thanks for posting it.
There are studies on both sides of the aisle on this which I have read, and I believe that alcohol in normal amounts is safe and fine while swaying and does not raise testosterone in any way that affects swaying. (affecting the results of a lab test is one thing, how it works in the human body is another thing entirely) Estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone and the precursors to them are VERY complicated things and difficult to understand and explain and researchers do not fully understand how it all works together.
I didn't drink in the lead up to conceiving my girl but I did in the lead up to conceiving the boys. I don't think there's anything in it, except I tend not to drink when I'm trying to lose weight because of all the calories and the effect it has on my willpower!
Great point Zana. Some people get hungry when they drink while others don't.
