Even police women as well? I was looking for a study myself about this. Lol

No my expectation is police women would have more sons than the general population. Sorry I was saying that for bre's sake since her husband was the one in question.
I will look for it again! I believe it was related to the rotating shifts, bad diet, and stress. I doubt this will ever change, he actually is working 12hr nights all this month and sometimes skips meals and what not. I also read nurses are more likely to have girls as well. Probably for similar reasons. (dd#2 I worked an in ER, too).
And I believe you expectations about about policewoman would be correct. As I had my boy while on Active Duty (similar atmosphere to policewomen) and our girls after I got out.
My husband did make 2 of our boys working nights 11-12 hours so I know it's possible!!!
:agree: nurses have been shown in studies to have more girls and no one is quite sure why that is. Some speculate that it's a caring profession and may appeal more to people who are more set for girls. Not sure if that is true or not but just that some have speculated that. I agree the long hours would also have to have something to do with it!
New here and thought this would be a good start...
I have two girls..
DD#1 honeymoon baby...lost tons of weight before wedding..lot of stress bed 2-3 times /day ( sorry TMI , I know crazy newly weds) cardio, LOVED milk and cheese still do urghh.. Alway out and about early home.
DD#2 crazy cardio regimen like 2 hours 5days a week. I think I was starving myself..needed to lose weight before having another one... I was never a meat fan...only chicken and fish. But I know that we DTD on ovulation and DH was releasing every 2-3 days. Back then I thought if you bed on ovulation day you guarantee a boy ( wish it was that easy)

Atomic! That is good to know!
Interesting indeed! I am sure nurses and cops don't only make baby girls :) Just was another factor among many, I believed, inadvertently sway us pink. Because of my hours and when emergencies came in, I would skip meals and live off of coffee and diet coke. Same with DH. I remember feeling hungry frequently.
I am a night shift nurse and I have 2 boys and one more on the way :D.
My friend is a nurse; she had a boy then 3 girls. Her younger sister is also a nurse and has 2 boys. However, the younger sister had a bigger gap between kids, she exercises moderately and is less stressed.
My best friend growing up is the daughter of a nurse. Her mom had 3 daughters while very stressed, irregular cycles, underpaid and working erratic shifts including nights. She had her tubes tied. Then 10 years later she had a tubal reversal, had gained weight, PCOS tendencies, new management position with steady daytime hours, and had 2 boys.
I am a mom of 4 girls, how I got my girls is as follows. I am a nurse, but have only been with 3/4. I work days and nights, overtime, I basically never eat let alone pee and when I do eat I binge when I get home. In all seriousness, I've never been a breakfast person, I am just not hungry. I love pasta, I lived on pasta loaded with asiago cheese and butter, this would usually be my lunch. Supper I would generally eat out, pizza, pho, pasta, Wendy's or we would have something at home. We eat a lot of ceaser salad, pasta, bbq. I have always been a carb eater and as a result have always struggled with being overweight. I also eat a lot of yogurt, strawberries, orange juice, sweets (I love to bake), milk especially chocolate and cheese. With all my girls I was extremely stressed dealing with both personal and family tragedies. I realize pop doesn't sway, but we've always been big coke drinkers. My husband's diet is more in tune with the HE diet, however he is a meal skipper as well. We both don't drink and he's a coffee drinker. We also have never dtd frequently (1-2/ month). When we did try for our daughters we dtd the week of ovulation everyday except with the last, we did missionary quick and dirty. My last daughter conceived on ovulation day attempting shettles (timing is nothing) dtd doggy. I have an extremely hard time achieving orgasm, so it's happened 3 times in 10 years. I also don't have a lot of fluids and have always used lube. I will add that both of us over the years have been on antidepressants and my husband has struggled with low testosterone and sex drive. I have known about swaying with two of my daughters, but I didn't want to believe diet had an impact, I see now through friends with all boys and reading these forums that diet really does play a role. It now seems obvious why I had all girls, but I love them to pieces.
Thanks and welcome Lavender! LMK how I can help!

Hi, ladies!
I'm fairly new to this site and planning a boy sway for July. I have a 17 yr old boy and a 14 yr old girl from my first marriage and my husband of 8 yrs and I have a sweet baby girl who will be 1 this Saturday. I've just finished reading through this thread after reading the How We Got Our Boys thread. It's amazing how different I was when I had my son than when I had my girls so I thought I'd share my story.
When I conceived my son I was overweight and ate a ton. I can't remember a lot of details but it was definitely high fat and not a nutritious diet at all. We didn't have a lot of money and I remember we ate a lot of cheap boxed stuff... mac-n-cheese, spaghetti (with no meat probably) smoked sausage, hot dogs etc. About a year after I had Colton, I started doing everything in my power to lose weight. I was on a starvation diet (ate almost nothing) and did cardio (turbo taebo, etc) 2 hrs a day, 7 days a week. I lost 25 lbs and along came my daughter Addison. Unfortunately I can't remember details about the conceptions except that we were trying for both. I would think that we tried pretty much the same way for each which is why I now think that diet and exercise and losing/gaining weight is so huge for swaying!
Fast forward to 2014... I'm in the leanest shape of my life. I do an hour of HIIT with weights 5 days a week and I'm on a very strict low carb, raw veggie, high protein diet (eggs, nuts, nut butter and protein powder maybe some chicken or tuna occasionally but not much meat.) Almost no carbs, no sugar, no fruit. Intermittant fasting, eating all my food between 8am and 2pm thus skipping dinner every day. I took raw whole foods vitamins and ate lots of raw veggies but I think my caloric intake was too low. I was always hungry. We decided at the end of August that we wanted to have a baby and I was pregnant the first week of September with our sweet Raegan. We usually BD daily to every other day but I can't remember now how many times we did during that fertile window. I was 37 when I got pregnant and turned 38 two wks before she was born. My DH turned 37 in March and I just turned 39. Hoping I can conceive as quickly this time and I can have a new baby before I turn 40 :)
Hopefully my story will add to what's already clear between the two threads. My girls have different fathers but I truly believe my diet and exercise habits were big sway tactics! I wish you all the best and I hope I'm able to give my husband a son very soon!
Thanks so much Kelly Jo! Very helpful!! Sending you tons of blue dust.
Love this thread thanks to all ye girl moms for giving us your two pence worth!!!!! Xxx

Thought I'd add my two pence. For all three of my girls I had recently or was following a vlcd. I've struggled with my weight all my life so I'm on a diet 90% of the time. I was seriously reducing calories but still ensured I was getting all the vits and nutrients as they were in the meal shakes. Along with this I was moderately excercising 6 days a week. Usually brisk walking and rowing machine. My first girl was a clomid/trigger but natural insemination. I had one attempt at trigger but don't think I ovd till 3 days later. My second was natural with no assistance one attempt approx 4/5 days prior to o. My third was a half hearted failed blue sway mostly diet (but not 100% couldnt give up the diet pop/caffine/alcohol)and excercise. No supps/vits and hubby did not do anything to sway at all. He drank and had lots of caffine. She was one attempt at approx o+24. I have trouble with tracking o due to not being some to temp (thyroid ) and I find opk some times variable ranging from 2/3 upto 7 days of positives. I suspect my last daughter might have been closer to o than that though. Probably not usefull but guess I love a very pink friendly life. Dropping all my pink off here in return for blue :) good luck to all xxxx

oh so sweet!!
It looks like a good deal of you had a lot of stress or dh had a lot of stress. This makes me feel a little better because I have anxiety in general. I was just telling dh thathe I was trying to lower my stress and he looked at me after a couple minutes of this conversation and interrupted me to say, "you do realize you're stressing about stressing out, right?" I'm glad it isn't the end-all, be-all. Though I am seeing a huge quality of life improvement in trying to be more relaxed!! Just glad it can be there and not affect your sway hugely.
I don't want you guys to lower your stress for EXACTLY this reason. The reason I have the admonition to try to avoid things that stress you out is because I don't want you guys inflicting "control-freakishness" onto yourselves with self-induced stressors. Stress actually sways PINK and has been shown to in studies. It's being a control freak that sways blue and while we interpret this as stress, it is really a whole different animal. I see you gals replacing stressing over timing and pH and astrology (which I don't want you to do) to stressing over stress and that was NEVER my intention at all. Avoid the self-inflicted, control-freaky stress that swaying can create. but you can't change your personality, don't even bother to try, and above all else don't start "trying to lower stress" launching into these "Relaxopalooza 2016" projects and end up so paranoid about it you're breathing into a paper bag thinking "OMGOMGOMGOMG I gotta calm down right now or my sway will FAIL!!!" That is what we're trying to avoid. Never my intention for you guys to replace anxiety over a sway with anxiety over anxiety!!
I would try temping before ruling it out. You might still get a usable chart, someone in a TTC group I was in 5 years ago had thyroid problems and had a normal chart shifted down a bit.
Just wanted to help by adding what I did to conceive my girl (which died in my womb at 30 weeks of pregnancy unfortunately :broken:).
I stopped BC in Jan 2015 but only ttc for about 3 times until September due to job change, when I found out I had toxoplasmosis so had to wait again for ttc until December. I got pg that first time with a girl (which I always hoped for).
Because of the toxoplasmosis, I lost some weight and was on a BMI of 17,25 from May until September. By December I was back on my normal weight with a BMI of 18,5-19. It almost never gotten any higher...
Regarding diet: I don't ever eat a lot of meat, have 1 can of diet coke every day, eat a lot of sugary foods (I love cookies, ice cream and chocolate), don't eat very regulary, sometimes I just ate a cookie for breakfast and when we go out to eat (at least once a week) I take a goat cheese salad (huge fan!) or pasta. Oh also, if I eat a large meal in the evening, I can't anything until the afternoon/evening the next day because I still feel stuffed.
Regarding exercise: I played tennis and padel for 4-6 times/week then. The 3 days before conceiving I played a European tournament of padel for which I had a bit of competitive stress (so not very girlfriendly I guess). DH is a soccer player (2 practices and 1 match a week), wears loose boxers everyday except when exercising.
Regarding attempt: we dtd only once that month at pos PK. My libido isn't very high and DH is also fine with dtd once a week or less.
Supplements: I took a prenatal multivitamin every day, so that's also not very girlfriendly...
We would like to have 2 (living) children and I would love to have all girls, or at least one.
I started swaying one month ago (BFN unfortunately) and I hope I can still get my girl(s)...
Good luck to you all!
Sigrid, so sorry about your little girl. Sending all best wishes that your family will soon be growing again.
For girl swayers I wanted to post the circumstances in which my daughters were conceived, so here goes.
With DD1, we were not swaying. I was 10lbs overweight but had gone vegetarian a few months earlier, then vegan the month before so was losing weight. I did no exercise (apart from walking) and drank black tea and coffee a few times a day. I was taking a prenatal. We had had no sex throughout the month but DTD from O-5 through to O, skipping O-1. Effectively we had abstained until O-5 so poss low numbers of viable sperm. She was conceived in the summer.
With DD2 I had started eating meat again and had a good diet (Primal-ish) but weight was holding steady and wasn't overweight. I did (I realise now) have a poor Omega3/Omega6 fat ratio- too many vegetable oils for cooking etc and not much oily fish. I also ate carby snacks with no protein at the same time so blood sugar must have been up and down. I was taking a prenatal. I walked a lot (everyday) pushing DD1 in pram and was still Bfing her several times a day and during the night. I drank tea but no coffee. Again, we had little to no sex from AF until O-5 and again on O day. She was conceived in the spring. I think diet-wise DD2 was more likely to be a boy, but the regular BFing (causing little to no EWCM,) the poor choices of fats and the fluctuating blood sugar may have counted against me. Hope this helps someone. X
Thanks a lot Bathsheba!
And thank you - like all the others who did this, to add your experience!
It's really helpful to know this and if I look at most experiences, it's not a coincidence that they got girls :)
Wish you all the best!
Thanks ladies. All your stories are valuable here
I'm just curious can the calcium pills make up for the milk-dairy products?
