Feeling already super tired ... After we dtd, DH fell asleep straight away (as usual!) but I couldn't and stayed awake most of the night. I have no idea why I couldn't sleep. What is with men falling asleep right after sex?!

I didn't start testing until C10 and even then it wasn't worth it for me as it was so faint. I thought my OPKS didn't work as they are so cheap. From C13 I could definitely see the line getting darker and become a positive in CD15. Gl everyone and fx. Xx

Marika - sounds like nothing to worry about, if you were to O on CD10 for example and have LP of 14-16 days thats considered normal I think. However remember I am not an expert so definitely best to check if concerned.

lyagirl-- good luck!

lavie-- I would stick with one attempt unless you don't get a temp rise in a few days. I thought I had a +opk on CD10 so we BD then but then there was no temp rise for several days and on CD13 my +opk was really positive with the test line darker than the control. So we BD then since my normal O day is CD15. That would still be considered one attempt if I O today on CD15. No temp rise this morning so I didn't O yesterday. My opk was still positive as of last night with the test line equal to the control, so that's 3 days of positives. I'll take another this afternoon (I test twice a day). Good luck to you!

Mumofsix - I can totally feel your family frustrations. My brother's girlfriend is *accidently* pregnant right now and all she talks about is how she *desperately* wants a girl.. even though she already has one. After a year on the LE and 3 months of TTC, I'm so tired of hearing about her accident pregnancy. I just pray I get preg before she finds out gender, because if she does have a girl, I can see me having a severe chocolate binge to get over it. (Not that I don't want her to have one, but...well...you ladies get it...)

I ordered some new opks and they should be here in 2 days. Think they will work right after a miscarriage? ? I'm not sure how all of that works exactly. My bleeding is considerably less today so we are going to start testing soon.

Oh Rosie in so sorry. Xx My close friend's OBGYN told her you are considerably more fertile immediately after a miscarriage but I'm not sure about the OPKs. Hugs. Xoxox

I think Mumofsix used opk's and got a positive after her miscarriage. Maybe she'll chime in here. Do you have pregnancy tests still? Maybe take one every few days till it's negative, then start the opks.

Yep I used opk's and had no probs after our loss. 😊

Thanks steph. It's my LP that has been shorter before, but if I would o earlier, maybe Lp would be longer. Well, I don't know and since I can't control it or change it I'll just try to track it and see if I have any patterns. What about you? If you did o (which I believe!), what dpo are you now?

My best friend is pregnant first time and doesn't even know about swaying. Just said it would be ideal if they had a girl and yes of course they're having one. I was choked last night. Not because I don't want her to have a girl but just sad for myself as I don't believe I'll have one. So totally get where you are coming from. If I was to have s girl this time it would be great for her to have one too.

lyagirl - it just goes to show that it really is down to luck at the end of the day and people conceive boys and girls easily all the time. It is a hard lesson to us but we must remember that all we are doing here is upping the odds. I really hope that you are PG so that you and your friend can be bump buddies and I hope you get your girl.

girliedreamz - definitely with you on that one, may I recommend a jar of nutella ;)

Rosie - again I am truly sorry for your loss - I dont know the answer to the OPK question as I dont do too well with them myself but if you get them cheaply then you can start testing whenever you feel comfortable.

Marika - my AF arrived on saturday which would have been somewhere between 5-9 days dpo :( I have now started temping to see exactly how long my LP is. Did you get any advice on lengthening your LP? I am considering another couple of acupuncture sessions but they are £75 a time so I can really only do one or two more max, I have an expensive month coming up. Atomic also advised me to make the effort to eat 4 eggs a week, bit more full fat dairy and as I have been on the diet for longer than 6 months I should consider zinc 3 times a week.

steph - Ah, I see :-( Was it full AF at once or did you have spottings first?

I didn't get any advice for lengthening my LP. I think I have read somewhere that vitamin B (B6?) can be good for that, but I don't know how that would be for a pink sway.

I have been looser on the diet, had some salmon here and there and some potatoes and more fat. Not for the cycle purpose, but I just haven't been motivated enough to be as strict as fist months. But maybe the fat and salmon will help the cycle a bit, if that would have been part of the reason to why it's messed up.

My opk was still negative last night, I have no ewcm now but a little bit of cramping on the sides so I hope o will turn up this week. So eager to just get a new attempt! It's more or less all I can think of, I just wanna get pregnant now. During the weekend our youngest son also started to ask why we can't have a baby. He wants to be a big brother! Oh, I wish I could give him some happy news!

i went to the loo on saturday morning and had spotting, within an hour i knew it was real AF. It only lasted 3 days though, today is more like the lightest spotting ever. I have heard of B6 lengthening LP and did think about it, but atomic knows her stuff and I have had the custom plan from her since 1st November so I am sure she would have recommended it if it was relevant to me. Thats not to say it wouldnt be relevant for others. The reason she probably didnt recommend it in my case I am guessing is that I eat loads of fruit and veg so probably have enough b6 through diet. She said I didnt really need to do the zinc because I get adequate protein but I like to feel like I am doing something if you know what I mean. I dont care if it sways blue I am pretty much past caring about everything now, I just want to be PG too. Feel like a bit of a failure but then getting PG is down to luck, I just wish I could be a bit more chilled about it!

the fat and salmon will help you, I have realised that it doesnt take much with diet to mess up your body - I was eating at the upper end of the limits and did not cut back too far (because I used to easily eat 2500 cals a day, and I burn 850 a day through exercise so it would be stupid of me to only eat 1500 for example) - but look at what happened to me. Yes, it was down to BCP and probably nothing to do with the diet but who knows, maybe I could have gone back to normal quicker if I was eating meat, fish, nuts etc every day like I was before. Who knows. Whats done is done and funnily enough most of the time I dont mind the diet at all, I eat food I enjoy every day, its just sometimes I cant be bothered with the restriction.

I haven't had any bleeding in 12 hours. Can you really complete a miscarriage in 4 days of period like flow? It wasn't even as heavy as my normal periods actually. I am going to the doctor today thankfully. I will see what my hcg is at...I'm nervous I may need a d&c.

Hey Rosie, I had a complete miscariage 2 year ago. It was 'done' in 4- 5 days like a period really. I hope this is the case for you. Good luck with your appointment.
With regards t OPKS, you might get false + as they pick up the HCG hormone too if its still in your blood. Mine were positive still right after my ectopic surgery. They faded gradually so for me it was good to see that the hormones were decreasing and to know that my body was getting back to normal. Xx

Sorry to hear that Rosie. I had a MC many, many years ago and it was like the heaviest period ever, lasted a really long time. But I think I was a bit further along than you. Hope you dont need a d&c hon.

I'm soooooo hoping I'm pregnant because I'm super tired today and all I want is a double espresso but I'm not doing that because I'm in the 2WW. We have my YDS's birthday party this weekend so I'm needing the energy to prep for it.

Started spotting today which I typically do five days befor AF, AF is due In five days. :hair: Onto cycle 6 of trying, is there a TTC in June group yet?

Arimethia - you are not out yet! This has happened to a few ladies, they had their usual pre-AF spotting but no AF as they were PG.

There are lots of us who will be TTC in June - hopefully it will be our lucky month :)

Rosie-- my best friend had a miscarriage last summer at 5 weeks along and also had bleeding no heavier than a period. She got pregnant again soon after and just gave birth to her 2nd daughter two weeks ago! So fingers crossed that your miscarriage is finished and that you get your rainbow baby soon!

Arimethia-- so sorry to hear about the spotting. Hopefully it disappears and AF is a no show!

stephk - I am happy you are finding the diet to be ok, especially since you have been on it for a while now. Your daily menus always look so delicious!

I have not had any opk+ yet and have now run out of tests! Have taken tests for 4 days and yesterday it started getting pretty strong, but wasn't positive.

Anyway, dh is being away tonight, so we decided to BD this morning just in case. I don't have any chance of getting tests during the day but from test results earlier cycles I would guess that it would be positive today. So we just did it and I am hoping to feel o symptoms the nearest days. If not, well just BD in four days again.

This time I skipped j&d and stayed in bed for 30 minutes. No hot showers, no antihistamines, but I did take a rephresh kind of stuff (pH3,8) a few days ago. Guess thats long gone by now (I almost hope so).

Will see if this is our attempt or if we need to make another one.

yay good luck Marika! I am also going to drop J&D this time and will lay down for as long as i can (unless we BD right before sleeping in which case I will go directly to sleep)

I have been feeling super down lately...I feel like I lost my daughter for sure as I see so many ladies with sways like mine was get their girls. ..it makes me so angry mine was for nothing. I am so angry I have to do this all over again and with 4 weeks of going back to my boyish ways. I've probably ruined my chances at a girl now. It is so frustrating. I have been crying all the time and don't know how to get it to stop. I can't seem to move on from this. I read online that after a miscarriage it sways for a boy...not sure why we all say pink on this site. You are extra fertile after a loss so wouldn't it sway boy??!

Rosie so sorry to hear what you're going through It's truly awful My best friend had a mc and two months later got pregnant with a girl so it doesn't necessarily sway blue. You have such a great chance of getting pregnant again with a girl. Remember that declining condition will sway pink and after all those months on the diet and what you have been through recently your body will definitely be in that condition. And I have also seen lots of sways get pink when they have given up their diets for the last month which would be the same time frame as what you have been off the diet. So I think you have a fantastic chance of getting pink next time. Try not to keep thinking negative thoughts (not good for pink) and try and focus on a new start, new diet and you will get your daughter. Sending you big hugs xx

Steph don't give up! You will get your girl! And like I said in your other post, my best friend had a miscarriage last summer, got pregnant again right after, and just gave birth to her daughter two weeks ago. I definitely think m/c sways girl. My best friend is also a crazy exerciser (running and spinning) and normally eats a LE diet. That's why she has two girls now!

I too thought i had the perfect sway when I got pg first TTC cycle. I was so gutted that it wasn't a viable pregnancy and I did blame myself for it...
And the thought of starting all over again...Grrr its really tough...but here I am again :-)

you have been through some physical and emotional stuff so it takes time to heal on both levels... Allow yourself some 'kindness and care' - it helped me...

Rosie - I totally understand that you are feeling down. Not only having to deal with the loss but also starting this swaying business again. I searched the internet after my loss as well and found that some think it sways blue, some pink. Atomic thinks pink, so I chose to believe in that :-) (Not that my loss will sway anymore, but I was hoping for that the first 2 cycles). Also read here that actually feeling really down is swaying pink, so maybe it's a combination of psychological and physical things that sways pink?


I have been trying not to stress over ovulation today. Since I knew I wouldn't have any chance of testing today I figured there is no point of testing tomorrow (since I think it might have been opk+ today) but now I keep examining my cervix and checking cm all the time!

I thought I'd just do this cycle in a relaxed way. You know, BD this morning, hopefully ovulate tomorrow or saturday... but instead I now worry like crazy that I'll o on sunday night and not BD again until monday! That would be too far between! Oh well, by now I can't do anything about it but wait and see.

Rosie my friend just had a girl after a MC too... In fact she has had numerous miscarriages, & has 2 girls & one boy (her first, after no MCs). I'm so sorry for your pain & your loss.

So sorry, Rosie! I've not had a miscarriage myself, so I can only imagine how completely upsetting it is, but I so feel for you!

I can relate on the diet thing. After over a year on LE, I just had to ease up. And in doing so, I was certain I'd ruined all chances for a girl! But... in 3 months of TTC with pretty good timing from all I can tell, I've not got preg. So now I'm thinking that even with easing up, I'm still not fertile enough to be ovulating. My point is one person's "lower fertility" diet might be totally different than what another person needs to lower theirs, you know? It's not a forgone conclusion that if we have chocolate and cheese we're going to get a boy. You still have at least a 50/50 chance of a girl. And, most likely, much better than that because you have been swaying. So the odds are definitely on your side.

I know how you feel Rosie. I too am so sure our loss was a girl and it's so frustrating to have to start all over again. I haven't exercised or been perfect on the diet this month and with our attempt getting closer I feel like I have no chance of getting a girl again.

I also have really down days, especially as I had 'it all planned out' with a December baby and now that's all been put out of whack with the m/c.

I do believe a loss sways pink after seeing and hearing so many girls come from catching the first egg. Unfortunately we missed out on that so I really think we've blown our chances of a girl with that too.

It's so hard, so upsetting and so frustrating when everything falls apart and there's nothing we can do about it but all we can do from here is try to think positive and keep on trying! xx
