Don't worry ! I am measuring way way ahead, the growth scan last time (at 32 weeks, showed me at 33). Another scan tomorrow and I am 36+4, so will let you know what they say.
Do you know if you are having a big baby ? Have they done any guesstimates yet

I have gone into full on swollen hippo mode, the weather took a turn for the hotness yesterday, and in the UK we dont believe in air conditioning :)
So everything has swollen.

No, she wouldn't give a guess on size but said bubs head didn't feel big. And I won't be having anymore scans so can't get an estimate on size :/ My fundal height always measured spot on with gestation for the boys so I don't know what this means lol. Hoping she's not a whopper!

Hope your swelling subsides soon. That does not sound very pleasant :/ oh the joys of pregnancy lol.

Sparkles, I am with you on the swelling. I was fine until about a week ago and now at the end of the day my feet/ankles/low legs are all puffy and hurt. Heat here in California picked up too. I think it doesn't help that I have been working 12 hour days and I am on my feet a lot.

I am working so hard to get done what I need to at work so I am all set for baby. I am not taking time off before. I will work till I pop. Also running around doing a lot of store returns and exchanges from the baby shower and duplicates and things I don't need. I got way too many clothes and in small sizes (0-6 month) I got almost nothing over 9 months so I am exchanging some of the small stuff. Can't believe due date is only 4 weeks away...and hoping she comes early. Still doesn't feel real that I am having a baby.

Spent a few hours up at hospital maternity ward being monitored last night. Had awful stabbing pains in my belly all day yesterday, had to call hubby out of work to pick the boys up from school for me. Turns out I was having contractions but my cervix is still high and posterior so no baby yet. She said it may be signs of early labor or it can come and go for the next couple weeks..have no idea. Pains have fizzled out this morning :/ At least Bub was happy and little heartbeat galloping along lol. It's the first time hubby got to hear it

Mummyof4b: glad to hear baby is well. You must have been frightened about the pain. Are you far a way from the hospital?
I haven't packed my hospital bag yet nor typed the phone number to the birth departement. Because I gave birth exactly 3 days past due date with my 3 boys, I think this will be the case again. So I don't feel I am in a hurry. But it can theoretically happen any time from now, so I better be prepared. This pregnancy has been quiet different from my boy-pregnancies. Nausea had returned. I am very much out of energy and feeling lazy. I have a lot of water in my legs and body and I walk like a 70-year old!

GirlieC: Like you I still can't believe I am having a baby in a few weeks time. Why do you want her to come early?

I wish I would have the energy to work hard to get everything ready, but It's like I am too exhausted and too lazy. DH is doing a lot of effort to buy what we need. He bought baby seater for the car, pushchair, pram, alarm and other baby gear. I am thankfull for that. He finds it second hand because we can't afford to buy everything new.

Are you on maternity leave? I am and it is so nice. I try to gear down and allow my self to relax and try to sneak in a nap during the day.

Mummy sorry you are having such bad pains. Glad to hear baby is doing good and might be coming soon.

Dreamsister- I really just don't want her to come late, that is my fear, but a week early would be nice for a bunch of reasons.

I am a sorry you feel so tired. Wish my husband would be doing more to prepare. Everything falls on me, but I don't feel tired at all and needing to prep actually gives me energy and drive so maybe it is a good thing. I love buying used too...I take pride in saving money where we can.

I can't wait for our first birth in this group!!

We live close, about a 7 minute drive from hospital.
Hospital bag packed and in the car. All we'd need to do is race over to pick up mum so she can mind the boys. Hopefully it happens when the kids are at home and not at school - that would be a pain. It took hubby he good part of an hour the other day to pick the kids up drop them them off then get mum over. Hopefully this one doesn't come too fast.

I'm so tired and sore. Not getting a whole lot of cleaning done around the house..that'll give mum something to bitch about when she comes over ugh!

And Girlie...my husband is not helping much right now either, as he is working 6 days a week.

38 weeks + 2 days now and feeling physically great! Maternity leave started two weeks ago and I'm enjoying it and getting various things done. I'm hoping baby comes later (but not later than 41 weeks) because I'm still feeling good and our landscaping project still isn't done yet. Current projection is it will be complete by the end of June, so they will definitely still be finishing up the last few things after the baby is born. Sigh. The work is steady but slow.

Childcare wise, it's just going to me.
My DH is taking the first week off, but then he goes back to work.
We don't have family in the area, so I am just hoping that it is copyable.

Childcare wise, I am going to take 1,5 year off at maternity leave. After that I'll have to go back to my full time job and my baby will have to go to a private nursery.

My DH is going to take the first two weeks off and in addition to that he has 3 more weeks on summer vacacion.

By the time I go back to work ultimo 2018 we are thinking about getting an au pair to help out with all the daily household tasks, so we are more time together with the kids.

MrsSparkles, hope it goes well for you. One week with DH and no one else to help sounds like it could be rough. Wishing you an easy delivery and easy baby. :)

I will be on maternity leave for six months. DH will stay at home from 0 to 8 weeks depending on how we're feeling and how helpful my family turns out to be. Then he will use the rest of his paternity leave after my leave ends. All in all Baby will be able to stay home with us for at least 9 months. :)

Dreamsister, I am also very interested in au pairs and have been looking closely at the program. If we get one it would be sometime March-June 2018. I would combine the au pair with daycare. I found two center daycares I like and plan to check in with them monthly on our waitlist spot. And I also found two home daycares I like, but one only accepts children from 12 months on so that's a little tricky.

Amelia, we had au pair for two years. Her contract ended a year ago and since then we have been 'on our own'. She was a great, great help in terms of cooking, cleaning, doing grocery shopping, cleaning, fixing the laundry and so on. She did not babysit at all, but she gave us time so DH and I could concentrate on the kids. We two full time jobs it is busy and I really hope we can afford to get an au pair again one day.

Hi All. Glad to see everyone more chatty these days. We all must be getting ready.

I am not taking much time off work at all and in fact plan to just work from home the whole time (light at first) until I am able to start going back into office part time and then eventually back full time with 6-8 weeks hopefully. Hubby will take a few weeks off with me right after birth but not sure how long.

My work threw me a surprise shower this week and it was so great. Going to spend the weekend going through more stuff and getting settled. Question- do you ladies hang most of baby clothes or fold and put in a drawer?

[Dreamsister : That sounds fantastic, will be so nice to spend all that time together with the new arrival.

Amelia : I am hoping that it will go okay, as I have nothing to compare it to lol
A friend of mine has aupairs instead of nannies, they work out cheaper and hers helps out with the housework.

I am seriously wishing I had had one now, but still so many friends don't even know I am pregnant lol.

I have washed and hung everything in his wardrobe, and every time I go in his room, I can't resist opening the doors to have a sniff :P

My coworker whose wife had the same due date as me gave birth yesterday! But it could still be up to three more weeks for me if I go all the way to week 42. I really hope I don't. I might start acupuncture in week 40...Already started taking some Evening Primrose Oil capsules and drinking some Raspberry Leaf Tea.

My husband's grad school friends threw us a tiny shower last weekend (just 6 adults and 2 children) which was so lovely. Many of his grad school friends are out of town for another friend's wedding in Korea so that was why it was small. Now I've got all my stuff...39 weeks tomorrow. :)

@GirlieCat, what is your profession since you are able to work from home? Do you hire a private nanny to take care of your baby when you go back to office?

@amelia, what good does Rasperry Leaf Tea and Primrose Oil birth wise?

@MrsSparkles, nice that you have arranged everything in your sons room. I love how you describe that you open the door to have a sniff. To me it is still surreal that I am soon having a baby. Looking at her clothes and stuff help me realise that it is real.
I am not ready for birth yet. Still need to buy a pram and some other baby gear. I also have to do some cooking and baking to store in the freezer so we are prepared when visitors come over to congratulate with the newborn. I also have to do some cleaning and tidying up. So it is fine for me to go until my due date.
Any of you struggling with liquid in your legs like I am?
I bought compression stockings, which helps.
Looking forward to get back in shape when baby is born.

39 weeks tomorrow. MS came back with a vengeance last night. Spewed up my dinner. It was so bad and forceful I had pee ********* down my legs :( It'll be such a relief to be free of this sickness. 8 months is a long time to feel this awful! Can't wait to finally meet her <3

However I cannot imagine there is a baby shaped someone in there, it just isn't connecting or making sense.
Anyone else get what I mean, or am I crazy lol. Will be the Mom who gives birth and stares in disbelief like "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS, ITS A BABY !!!!!"

Trust me, it will hit home as soon as you lay eyes on your baby for the first time! There is nothing in the world like holding your baby on your chest, and him/her snuggling deep into you [emoji4]!! I always whisper their full name in their ear at that moment. It seems like it is a more gentler way of announcing to them who they are!!

I can't wait to see pics [emoji4]!!

I GET IT!!!!!! I don't think my brain or heart really have accepted the reality of this. I don't feel connected to baby at all. Unlike you I don't even love the movement. It is interesting sometimes but annoying at other times. I think I am going to have a real hard time post baby...the closer I get, the more I don't really want her to come.

Had my membranes stripped this afternoon. Hopefully baby will make an appearance in the next 24/48 hours :)

I thought labour was on It's way this night. Woke up at 3 am with massive nausea and lower back pain that came with interval. The past week I have also had thin feces (sorry for the detail).
I hope she stays in there a little longer, so I have more time to fix things in the house and buy a little more baby gear.

Maybe tonight. Usually I don't see any action til 48 hours after membrane strip which is basically now lol. I've been passing my mucus plug all day and having pains off and on but nothing regular yet. Usually things don't progress quickly til my waters break so just waiting for that to happen... :)

Oh and to answer your question earlier, the midwife offered to strip my membranes at the last appt to help speed things along for me. I was dehydrated from being sick all the time and in heaps of pain so I jumped at the chance. Can't deal with being pregnant anymore. 8 months is a long time to feel so miserable 24/7 :(

They say (I am not sure who they are, one presumes wise witchy ones) if you stand in the direction of the moon, and rub your belly clockwise you'll go into labor lol.
