Yes I am aware of this risk. What happened is that we only had a boy´s name before that I love and no real girl names. Now I found a girl´s name that I just love, DH will love it too because it´s similar to his grandmother´s name. So now Í am visualising this girl with a name, that is not helping to stay neutral lol. I keep remembering myself that it may be a boy and it´s not that I´m totally convinced it´s a girl, it´s that I see the happy ending in my mind. I won´t go into labour having convinved myself completely that it is a girl. And I am thinking about finding out more near the end, I don´t want to find out now and be disappointed for a long time in pregnancy. For now I´m delaying and later one we´ll see.
I think I can´t tell beforehand how I will feel if it´s a boy, I may have a hard time in his first weeks. For now I feel I will be ok with a boy too, but I tend to underestimate problems.

honestly indira, after the ultrasound was done and out of the way,i dont stress about the gender anymore, i still think about it, but it dosent stress me out or depress me like it did before,
and i know that no matter what is between the legs, once its born and in my arms it wont matter.

it was the few weeks before the scan that totally stressed me out, i was so convinced that i would go in there and have boy bits jump up at me, and ruin the pregnancy, but now that is done, i didnt see boy or girl bits, i can now enjoy the pregnancy, and the bonding with the baby, and also the possibility that it might be a girl, instead of knowing its another boy, if that makes sense....

I saw my obs today and baby looked fine he would not do a gender scan for me so I managed to locate one else where that do gender scans from 16 weeks and no referral needed so I have booked myself for one on Sunday. Ill be about 17 weeks then. I'm extremely petrified and don't feel confident at all now. The other night I also had a dream I gave birth to a baby girl, dont dreams usually mean the opposite? I just don't know if I want to find out now...

i dont know about dreams meaning the opposite, i have had both gender dreams for all my pregnancies.

i had a dream a few nights ago, that i had a boy, but when i changed his nappy his willy fell off, and it was a girl....:think:

i was totally stressed out about it all a few weeks before my scan too.

Dreams. They can be all over the place. This time, I only had 1 gender dream & it was a girl. With DS3...I kept dreaming about my little girl GROWING a penis. :shrug:

I have very vivid dreams all the time, but I never dream about babies. Last night I had a nightmare about a couple that was trying to get into our house, I kept running around to close doors and windows, they kept turning up, so weird.

Well it's a Girl for us. I went for a 17 week gender ultrasound today and it was an obvious girl and the doctor said 100 per cent sure. I still can't believe it. I have pics to post on the ultrasound board in the next couple of days. My gender dream came true. I did not tell anyone other then my 2 sisters what I'm having and plan on keeping it that way for now anyway. Applesoup your pink wishes to me worked now we can spread more around.

Thank you so much girls sending you all my pink dust and vibes I am officially done, Three was always it for us. I'm still in shock, I went out to the shops earlier and I just could not get myself to buy anything for her. I always imagined I would've gone mental and my husband thought I wouldve killed the credit card but I just couldn't, it really is wierd to describe.

Thanks Indira, no we haven't told the boys yet my husband wants to leave it as a surprise for now and they would not keep it a secret but they both think it's a girl even though I would never hint that I wanted a girl, just maybe there own intuition.

Yea! Belle! Congrats!! You must be so excited! Nope, haven't bought much for her--but haven't had much time either. Every time I see my small stash of pink it feels...weird! I'm surprised that it was "obvious" it was a girl, usually it's the other way around!

We also are having a little girl! I cried when the lady told us! And everytime someone congratulates me! I didn't hold out buying! Took oh straight to next when we were done lol

Sorry it took so long to tell you all, we've had a somewhat eventful few days, scan was Sunday afternoon and our Labrador went into labour and had 6 beautiful puppies early Monday morning! I spent 6 hours comforting her in a big welping box and now my hips are playing up! Lol
But the puppies and new mummy are doing great!!!

Congratulations Kell!! That´s great news! A lot of baby girls in July on here! Enjoy every bit, but it sounds like you´re doing just that.
Aw how nice about your puppies, your sons must be so excited. My Ds1 wants a dog more than anything in the world.
I think it would be great for him (in a couple of years!) but DH doesn´t want to have a dog :(

time has actually been going pretty quick, which is great, i think all the drama around us lately has sped the pregnancy up.....

and when you think about it in weeks , 15 weeks is not far away at all!!!!

I feel movement now, still vague, but it def. is the baby. I love it!

I saw my baby today :) I had my dr. appt. and she did a quick scan. I´m very happy I got a better look, I saw a normal face this time so that was reassuring. Still team green and I am excited about it.
My feelings that it´s a girl are gone now, I saw two balls very clearly, looked like testicles to me. No willy sticking out.
I can´t believe we looked at the face for quite some time and I totally forgot to notice the skull shape!
Every evening I sit on the couch looking at scans and skull shapes online, then I have my own babies head in front of me and don´t even think about it! So now I can only obsess over the 2 balls lol.

I have my anatomical scan in 3 weeks, hope I can resist the temptation then as well.

sometimes the labia can be swollen and look like balls, so your not out yet!

yes im getting heaps of movements, some days it seems to be jumping around in there all day long, others i might only notice a few when im laying down etc.
those days tend to freak me out a bit, when its super active, non stop , all day, and the really quiet the next, i know its just resting from all the activity the day before, but it still freaks me out.

Yes, meanwhile I´ve learned that lol. Fortunately we went away for the weekend so I had a lot of distraction and stopped obsessing over this. I felt the baby a lot, and I´m getting more excited about being on team green every day, also because everybody asks and they can´t stand we´re not finding out :) Now that my bumb is visible people started asking and they ALL ask ´wouldn´t it be great if it was a girl?`

In a way I'd love to stay team green as I'm in a good place with just enjoying the pg at the moment and not having to think too much about gender. I guess I will have to deal sooner or later, and want to get over any feelings of dissapointment before the birth.

So...to change the topic a little bit, have any of you ever had any varicose veins? This is my 4th pregnancy, but I just got a bad one...on my labia! My left leg is starting to hurt. I'm trying to put myself on "modified" bed rest...you know...sit down when I'm not: picking kids up to/from school, cleaning, doing laundry, errands...

How did you guys get pain relief from the varicose veins (especially if yours was in the feminine region)? When are varicose veins dangerous...like, with clots?

i have never had varicose veins, but i have a crap load of broken capillaries, you know those spider vein things, all over my legs, i have never had them before so its odd to me.

usually they are not dangerous, my grandmother has been covered in them for 40 years. big ugly bulgy things all over her legs.
if they are accompanied by lots of bruising then they should checked out.

also i just remembered reading a natural cure for varicose veins, in my natural cures book.
just went and checked and horse chestnut will get rid of them. and prevent you getting more.

natural prescriptions for varicose veins

horse chestnut -600mg
high fiber diet or fiber supps -35-50gm fiber
grapeseed extract -100mg 3 times a day
vitamin c with bioflavinoids -1000-3000mg
coenzyme Q10 -50-150mg

plenty of grapes, berries, cherries and tea.

exercise -walking , jogging, stair climbing, hiking and bike riding.
bed rest is not good for them apparently, and can make them worse.
excercise is the best way to go.
you need to increase circulation in the area.

you will have to check that the supps are ok during pregnancy, but the rest seems pretty simple...:)

Yeah, I was confused by the suggestion of: as much bedrest as possible + exercising. Seems counteractive. The thing I have noticed (by staying off my feet today) is that they don't hurt as much when I rest...but as soon as I stand the blood flow hurts it worse. Hmmm.

yeah thats one of things i read, the activity helps to push everything back where it should be, but lack of it, can have the opposite affect and gravity takes over and forces it all more south.

Varicose veins- Grate a potato, place a large amount of the wet grated potato against the area. Make sure you wear a pad. Try to keep it against the area for 20 mins or so, a few times a day:) Just do this when its bothering you:) I hope it helps! xo
