I don't think it matters:D Some of the old threads seem to get revived:D
Are you swaying boy? As far as I can tell, nutrients sway boy, so Ca supplements (if no dairy) may be more blue than pink, despite the widespread advice.

Yes we like to keep the old threads going when we can, that makes fewer threads to read instead of having to open and shut 25 similar threads all with a fraction of the info in them. :) Keep it going girls!
Nutrients across the boards have been associated with more boys conceived. If you REALLY can't bring yourself to eat dairy foods for boys, that's up to you - your body just takes stores of calcium from your bones and teeth (and we've had people do blood tests that show identical levels before and after a strict sway diet - in many cases the levels actually went UP even when they were eating no dairy.)
A lot of us on here have opposites the "old school" way so it's easy for us to give up on some of that stuff. Example I got my 3rd and 4th boy taking tons of calcium supps and all 4 boys with lots of dairy. So this was easy for me to give it up to TTC a girl (and I succeeded.) But I know it can be a hard choice if you haven't had that experience so it's always up to you guys what tactics you want to do and what you don't.
For blue or pink????
For blue, if you do want to include dairy foods (full fat dairy only) and calcium via prenatal that is fine. Most of us don't take actual cal supps for TTC a boy though just in case (although I was when I got my last two boys haha) and be sure you're taking Vit. D as well.
For pink, I think it's better to use calcium supps, if you must use them (did not work for me, but your sway your way) because the high nutrient intake in dairy foods can really wreck a sway.
So, you should avoid all dairy when swaying pink? I thought it was okay as long as you stayed under your calories, fat and protein? The reason I ask is because I have 2 cups of coffee a day (both with 2 Tablespoons of half & half) and usually either an ounce or 2 of cheese or a couple tablespoons of home made whipped cream. But, since that is almost all the fat I have, I thought it was fine. In addition to the dairy mentioned above, this is what my day looks like. I skip breakfast (have 2 cups of coffee with sucralose and half & half), for lunch I have 1 cup of 'rainbow soup' it is a vegetable soup I made with low sodium chicken broth and various vegetables, and for dinner I have 4oz of chicken with broccoli or green beans or a salad with chicken a little cheese and a tablespoon or pumpkin seeds. I like a little something sweet at night, so I made a low carb blueberry cobbler (95 calories/6g fat/2g protein) which I like to add the whipped cream to. I don't eat sugar, and I sweeten anything with either xylitol, erythritol or sucralose. Will the dairy I am eating really wreck my sway?
No, you don't need to avoid all dairy, as long as you're in your limits it is fine to have dairy.
Sorry I realize now why my reply was confusing. THere are some people on here who are big believers in the French Gender Diet which has high intake of calcium as a prerequisite. Some people chose to try to achieve this by drinking a gallon of whole milk a day. That would be a massive intake of nutrients (other than calcium) in addition to the calcium. So, for the people who are big believers in the French Diet, I want them to get that high calcium intake from supps instead of drinking massvie amounts of milk. :)
Your diet looks great to me and I actually urge you to continue that full fat dairy becuase your diet is quite low in fat otherwise and I fear you may stop ovulation if you cut it out. :)
I've recently began my girl sway and have enjoyed catching up on this thread!

So........thought I would add my girl sway in........at the time I didnt know much about swaying but did read up and tried to put some minor changes in to help TTC a girl - which worked!
I was following basically the LE diet without realising. I was really into Low GI foods, so my diet consisted of that. I rarely snacked and if I was hungry I would have a coffee or a Diet Coke.
Was a massive coffee and Diet Coke drinker. Occasional glass of white wine or 2 thrown in a few times a week.
Rarely ate breakfast.
Not a big meat eater - maybe a few times a week, more chicken or pasta with limited amount of meats.
Exercise - took the dog for a walk a few times a week , but nothing that full on.
CM was creamy and BD was AM of + OPK and PM the following day.
This is a great thread! Thanks ladies.
Hey everyone,
Future blue swayer here (and future Mom of baby number one, a little princess due this July :D), I’ve written a short introductory post that I've submitted in the Introduction forum :)
I would like to take the time to share details about my lifestyle prior to getting PG with our girl with you pink-swaying gals; do take into account that I knew nothing about swaying when we got her BUT in retrospect my lifestyle at the time seems to have been very pink-friendly. So here goes, hope Atomic or someone else experienced gives this a proper once-over later just to make sure I haven’t given any misleading info! (again, I am no swaying veteran!)
Our little girl was conceived last October :)
I am naturally skinny and rather on the tall side – 175cm to somewhere under sixty kilos, or around 130 lb for five feet nine. I have been making a consistent effort to exercise since a couple of years, anywhere between one and five times a week for durations of 45 – 60 minutes, but I have to underline that I mostly do running (a lot, love it) and cardio, no weight or strength lifting (I had been thinking of that as I had wanted to build some muscle up, had bought a set of weights but had not started at all at the time).
This was in the fall, after the summer, and I remember reading Atomic commenting on the good boy and girl months on here; but I doubt I had gotten much vitamin D – office job, so spent most of my time indoors, only took a week or two off that summer and live in a flat, so, no garden, no great exposure to sun, and I wasn’t taking any vitamin supplements at all.
About my diet at the time: I was eating very light meals. Never skipped breakfast, but it was always raw oats with some fruit and non-fat yoghurt, a small bowl. Lunch and dinner were mostly very light since several months – salads with dressing on the side and some ham or cheese or a hard-boiled egg, fruit smoothies, yoghurt (low-fat), berries. Low protein, low carbs, low fat (yes, I can see how this was girl-friendly… don’t judge me! I was trying to lose some weight at the time, since DH was away for work most of the summer and I wanted to look great upon his return ;) I did lose a couple of kilos, or several pounds, which sways pink as well I think.) I consumed a lot of dairy, everything low-fat or zero-fat. Not many nuts, not much meat at all – the occasional chicken breast or fish when we’d head out with a girlfriend once again, DH was away, I wasn’t motivated to cook proper meals for myself alone. And I’ve never been much of a snacker, if I suddenly got hungry before bed, I’d down a glass of low-fat milk or yoghurt.
Here you have it… As for DTD, I wasn’t really tracking things carefully at the time so I seriously doubt it happened right on O day, probably a bit before or after, and we had been on vacation the preceding month but not at the time that I became PG – things were hectic at the time at work, so I’d wager we DTD once or twice over the week-end, nothing major and yes, more in the pink dust area.
There you go! Hope this is useful for some of you, sending pink dust to those who need it (and I’ll borrow some of your blue dust when I need it ;)) and good luck to everyone swaying pink, particularly as … well, the LE diet requirements are tough, yikes. If anyone needs support on how to survive on lower calorie intakes, fire away :) Dieting and slimming down is quite the fad here in France, repeated regularly before bikini season comes up :)
Ta!
This thread is fantastic & I can see why I've conceived our 4 boys. This gives me hope, so thank you to everyone (no matter how long ago you posted) you have helped make this process easier to understand. Our 4th son was meant to be our last & I've managed to convince DH not to get a vesectomy as I'd love to add one more to our family regardless of gender, obviously I'd love a little more estrogen in our house
Also please check out the "how we got boys" thread here! (and add your info if you haven't already, boy moms!) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...-our-boys.html
Such a wonderful, informative thread. Thank you to all the posters, past, present, and future!
Checking out the boy thread now and will add how we got our DS1 and DS2.
May the odds be ever in your favor!

I've read somewhere that mirena sways pink slightly after removal? Does any one know? X x

Yes, we think that it does. I can expand upon this more in a separate thread if you would like.
Hello all. I have two beautiful daughters. I have always been very much into working out, and particularly enjoy lifting weights. You'd probably be surprised what I can lift if you saw me as I'm petite (5'3 on my best day) and weight 115. I would say that for both girls my diet was pretty healthy, balanced, low sugar with a ton of protein. Never skipped meals. However with both girls we DTD only once. Additionally husband is a smoker (quitting now ) and was tested and came up low testosterone. I was always, until lately, a healthier eater than my husband. In the last year he also started working out a lot (Crossfit) and changed his diet in big ways. So I think in the past, his diet, low testastore, smoking, and our DTD once during fertile window swayed us majorly pink twice. I hope this helps!
Thanks Katie and good luck with your boy sway!
Thanks so much kittendreams! All my pink dust your way!
How long after removal of iud would this still apply? I had skyla which is just a smaller version on mirena removed in February just got my bfp two cycles later

Hi ladies. I started reading the beginning of this thread and noticed a lot of frequent BDing with girls. Just want to make sure I'm clear, it is now recommended to BD only once for pink, and 3 for blue, yes? I would love to sway blue so reading everything to gather as much as I can. Thanks!
[emoji5] oh my this just made my day!

i have a full explanation of why not to do that here.

Just re-read that entire thread. Thank you for the clarification Atomic.
Hi,
I have 3 dd aged 5 , 3 and 11 months
DD1 - didn't know about swaying . Was in a bit of a stressful job with not much time to eat. Sometimes would delay breakfast a couple of hours as I am a nervous person and would often have a sore stomach in the morning. Ate cereal toast . Would snack but not big lunch. Sandwiches with ham ,tuna.rice dishes or salads. Dinner was pasta and/ or meat veg and salad. I would come home from work late and it was whatever was the quickest thing to make. Me and hubby love eating big dinners. No excersise .Hubby not much excersise. Took prenatals
DTD every second day during ovulation and a bit after.
DD2- different job less stressful , walked lots , lots of snacks but not huge meals in the day. Wanted to sway boy -took prenatals, folic, vitamin d(deficient in first 2 pregnancies ) DTD 3 times in a row before ovulation used opk. Hubby no excersise or vitamins.
Dd3 really wanted to sway gave it my best. Ate HE diet. Lots of water took liquid vitamin juice, wheatgrass , vitamin d , folic, fish oil , probotics, did weights 3 times a week and sometimes yoga. Hubby took zinc, fish oil and men's multi. Dtd one attempt after OPK . Tried to have 2 but didn't happen! Used preseed.
Ps. I have never eaten low fat anything . Dd1 I use to drink soy and almond milk but by dd2 I was onto cows milk again. Dd3 I ate heaps of good fats eggs,nuts,avo- i just ate everything. I have never dieted . Put on a couple of kg before conceive Dd3
PPS. I don't smoke or drink . I am the ocasional tea drinker . Hubby drinks beer moderately and 2 coffees a day. He has a busy and somewhat stressful job and doesn't eat big meals except dinner!
If only I could get three in a row at the pokies machine ...
Also, we are not mega red meat eaters.. We like venison and pork 2-3 times a week . Eat mostly chicken.
We've had a lot of new blue swayers the last 2 weeks - ladies, please share your experiences of how you got your girls here!!
.
This thread is one of my favourites, I think it’s so fascinating to read everyone’s stories. I can’t contribute my own tale yet, but last night I got chatting with my mum about when she conceived me and my sister and thought I would share.
My sister is only 14 months older than me, and I’ve always known I was an oops baby! But we got talking about it in a bit more detail last night and found out some more about the circumstances. So when I was conceived it was only less than 5 months since my mum had given birth, she was breastfeeding my sister and trying to lose some baby weight, and they didn’t eat a great deal of red meat anyway. But she also said (maybe TMI!) that my sister had caused a loooot of tearing during labour and she was definitely not up for BD in the following months. So apparently they went for it just ONE time after my sister was born, and made a little me.
So mum was pretty much doing a pink sway for me 29 years ago – LE diet, breastfeeding and one attempt! I think it’s so interesting how it all fits in with what we’re doing here.
Ok maybe this is a little personal but how many of you ladies had the big O when you got pregnant with your girls? Did you avoid it? Did it just happen? TIA!
While I only have 1 DD that I’m currently pregnant with, I can tell you it doesn’t make a difference! I didn’t have the big O with my DS2 and DS3, lots of big O with my DS1 along with tons of BDing, and only 1 attempt with 2 big O’s with my DD!
Don’t let yourself worry about this! Enjoy BDing and have a big O if you want to! This whole swaying and TTC business is hard! Let yourself enjoy your DH- that’s what I did!
🤞🏻for you!!
