Dreaming Pink Due Date Group: TTC and Beyond #2

Ladybugs I can't wait to see pics!!! So so excited for you girls :).

I had a scan today and both babies are doing great. Baby A was jumping around like crazy while Baby B was still hiding in the corner. I got some pics and think I can see baby A's nub looks pretty boyish, doesn't it? Would you mind taking a guess? It's still very early (11w1d). My OB said it's too early to tell but Baby A looks boyish to her. I will have an appointment every 3-4 weeks and she promised she would make scans every time. Next regular scan would be January 7th and she said she will be able to tell gender by then :).

I rescheduled my NT scan, having it next Monday so hopefully I will get some better nub pictures.

In the second pic you can see baby A's nub, baby B is on top with it's head down. I think baby B's jaw loos girly. It's pretty pointy while DS had a more edged jaw (don't now if edged is the right word, hope you understand what I mean.)

Its early, but to me they both look girlie...

I am not good at nubs Pumpkin, but I know I have read that it should be 12 or more weeks to make a guess. Hopefully you will get some good nub shots at your NT scan next week! What I do know is there are some beautiful babies in there! Lovely to see them both and so glad they are doing well! :happy:

Thanks Ladies! I have read it's 50% accurate at 11weeks, 75% at 12weeks and 95% at 13 weeks. Well, not long to go and we'll know more :).

OMG pumpkin, they're so cute! I know it's early bit I think two girls too. Did they confirm your due date with this scan or do you need to wait for the next one?

Pumpkin, I agree with you that baby A looks boyish. I had my NT scan at 11w2d, and his nub was similar. But at 11 weeks, it really is too early! So it certainly may still be a girl, and of course, you haven't seen baby B's nub at all! I would bet one of them is a girl!

Ladybugs, I am so happy you got the delivery you wanted with the doctor that made you comfortable!! After that fall and everything so close to delivery I think you deserved a break!!! Can't wait to see her.

Pumpkin I am awesome at nubs, if I do say so myself, because I completely nubsessed and looked through thousands when I was waiting for my scan. I can tell you for sure 11 weeks is far too early, and also those pics aren't that clear especially of baby B. I promise I will guess on your next one, after 12 weeks the stats are better, but also the unofficial stats I noticed were far more reliable after 12 weeks. I agree Baby A does look a bit boyish, but its so early I won't say for sure yet. I have seen very boy nubs at 11 weeks turn girl by 12-13. How far along will you be exactly at the next scan?

Looking forward to some more baby news for those due in December!! I am 30 weeks now and feeling tired but better after a long stint of gastro (thanks to ds1 and 2) and have already gained back the 2kg I lost (sigh). Everyone is telling me I look great but I have gained almost 14kg and feel like a heifer! Also, I am acutely aware of how rapid the weight gain will be over those last 8 weeks. I tend to retain a lot of fluid in the last bit too so I know I will change very soon. Not that it matters, but I will be hiding from the camera this christmas for sure!! In other news baby turned feet down a few nights ago, I am certain of it. Not that I had much choice for a vba2c given my bladder position meant it would rupture in labour, and I have a stupid pelvis (yes, that's the technical term, haha) but that just took any last hope (irrational) I had out the window. Oh well.

Meeks, I am glad you are a good nub guesser! I can only do the really obvious ones (like YOUR girl one for example!) I can't wait to get a nub shot! I'l be looking to you for your expertise! Only a few more weeks...

Bunny my OB didn't change the due date she said both babies are right on track. Baby A was measuring 4,5cm, baby B exactly 4cm. When is your next scan?

Meeks I can't wait for my NT scan. I will be 12w1d. I can't believe I am already nubsessing over this one. When I zoom in it looks like it still might be girly, it's parallel to the spine but first thought is boy. Oh I wish I would have seen baby B's nub!

Looking at your scans again, thinking it could be one of each!

My next scan is a private scan on Saturday afternoon, then the original scan is in 23rd. Hoping all is well in there. Would be so much easier if I could see what s/he's doing or could feel movement. Soon...

This thread has been such a joy to be a part of :) Having everyone at such different points in their pregnancy journey is great! I can't wait to start nub guessing with you ladies :) I don't know if you all remember my 12 week nub shot... holy moley he already had a penis! LMAO

I promise to post pics soon... things have been all kinds of crazy over here and I haven't even opened my laptop since I got home! I think baby Eddie is suffering from some transitional issues and a touch of colic... fun stuff. I lucked out twice with very easy babies so I guess it's my turn for a challenge! LOL ... we're working it out though :)

Pumpkin For what it's worth I think both those nubs look girly! If it was me, I would kinda hope one was a boy though so your DS can have a brother :) Either way I think you can safely say you have a VERY good chance at having at least one girl! :) Can't wait to see your next scan pics!

For all of you who got nub scans, did your doctor order the scan at 12 weeks? My doctor has an ultrasound machine in the office so he already measured the baby and confirmed my due date today. My next doctor appointment is not until 13 weeks. According to the nurse I will not have an official scan until 20 weeks! I just assumed I would be getting a real scan at 12 weeks and be able to nubsess. But, now it does not sound like it will be happening! :confused:

Oh! That's what I would have thought, too. The scan I'm having this weekend (private - 12+3) and 23rd (13+4) is the NT scan. After that, I think I get another scan around 16 weeks (anomaly). Yes, the gender one (I think) is around 20 weeks. I wonder if by 'official' she meant they won't go ahead unless you're worried about development, so checking for anomalies etc. so will only run a test then. Strange...

By official I just meant not the machine in the doctor's office room, but an actual ultrasound that is scheduled...

Maybe I can request an NT scan? I want to make sure it will be covered by insurance first though.

I think the number and timing of "official" scans depends on where you are. In the UK the scheduled scans are usually at 12 weeks for dating and then at 20 for anomaly. In Germany you get 3 scheduled (paid for) ones: between 10-12 weeks, around 20 weeks for anomaly and around 30 weeks for the big organ scan.

Yes you have to order a NT scan, which where I am in Oz is a separate thing, you go to a proper ultrasound place and pay a LOT for it. But I would have had it anyway, not just to nurses, because it checks for a lot of health related issues etc.

I think I'm 2 dpo. Some of you know last month I had another chemical. It was the worst one yet since my frers were getting darker everyday. Then I took a digi and it was - af showed 2 days later.
So this cycle it was like I was going through the motions. I had only two attempts on cd 11 and cd 12 and o'ed cd. 12. So if you can all say a prayer for me I would appreciate it ! I feel like the only person not pregnant!!!!

Nawwww sun that was a nasty month, and very unfair. Hope you got on the raspberry leaf this month, it helped me Immediately. On the upside that timing and frequency is what got me my BFP and my girl after soooo long, I really wish you the same, this month more than ever.

I agree with meeks sun, the RRLT did help me as well. I conceived the month I started it.

I had my NT scan this morning and the Dr said both babies are looking perfectly healthy. Baby A is measuring 5,7cm, baby B 5,6cm. Since we had to pay extra for the blood work he said there is no need to get it done, he didn't want us to waste the money since he was 100% sure everything looked great. We finally got to see Baby B, I am over the moon happy!

Would you girls mind guessing my nubs?
For a few minutes we could see baby B's nub very very clearly and I got all excited because it was very flat, long and forked. I was immediately so convinced baby B is a girl that I am thinking about going shopping already.
We should find out for sure on jam 7th.

Woo hoo! Officially third tri ;D Boo hoo, been told I'm anaemic, again! I've been eating every iron rich food under the sun and been sooo careful as I know it could affect my home birth plans.

Happypixi, get yourself to Boots ASAP & get some Spatone while it's still on offer. I lost 1300ml of blood during the birth & was hovering above the iron level (8.1) for needing a blood transfusion. I tried iron tablets & they had a horrid effect on my tummy. My midwife recommended taking this natural iron supplement & while it's not cheap it's excellent. It's just too expensive for the NHS to prescribe.
