Hey girls, I haven't been on here in a while. I needed a break from all this because we couldn't bd for a month while I was on pain meds and getting xrays on my broken wrist. We have been swaying for 5 months (DD2 took one try so this has taken longer than expected) but I got an OPK smiley at 630pm. Is it recommended to BD 12 or 18 hours after the first smiley? I think the book says 12 hours, 18 hours is right in the middle of the day (tough to accomplish), and 24 hours would put it at supper time, which could be accomplished but not as ideal as evening. The rest of our sway is ok, so I want to do everything I can to get timing right. Thanks for your thoughts!
Welcome back! You could try now and again in 24 hrs? From what I am reading lately it seems boys are conceived like this? Otherwise I would try tomorrow night so 24 hrs away.. or can you do in the morning.. so 18 ish hours?Quote:

OMG! So I had a warm bath today with 1/2 cup baking soda and checked my pH half hour later for the first time in over 8 weeks since going off the sway diet and supps and my pH is a 7!!!!!! I have only been back on diet and supps for a few days now so surely it is not that... the bath would have helped some but earlier in the year I had a bs bath and it didn't raise it at all!! Flava, I would just keep doing it if I were you! But you may be ready to stop, LOL. Do you feel like you had O pains and already Oed?
Hopeful, I would bd anytime from 12-24 hours after. I don't think it matters much. As close to O as you can, and even a bit after (like a few hours) is fine too. You could also do it two days in a row. The timing thing is kinda debunked now, so don't worry so much about that!
I try to have a big O before and after, but if I had to pick only one, I'd do after also. I believe that "up suck" theory is pretty legit.

Lola I really feel for you. Looking on the internet is just about the worst thing for people....it almost always gives you a worst case senario. When my period was 2 days late a couple months ago the "ask the docs" website I went to said I had an egg implant in my tubes and I should go to the doc right away. I know the two are completely different, but the fact is, it is hard to have hope/faith when every site or everyone says not too. Honey, our bodies can do some extraordinary things!!! His sperm did get you pregnant twice before...I know they didn't stick, but the fact is...they made it there. All it takes is 1 healthy swimmer. I think you have a great plan.....live your life happy with all the blessing you have and have faith that God is gong to bless you again. It is His timing not ours. I know it is so hard to you to see all of these ladies getting pregnant on the first shot, but everyone is different.
My cousin (who is a little...ummm....Jezebel) was messing around with her husband's best friend and he just got semen on her underwear. Well, she fell pregnant and her DH found out about her messing around and made them do the biological testing....it was the best friend's baby. Everyone was soooo shocked, the best friend kept denying that the baby was his because they did have "sex".
Remember my DH's brother had an aweful sperm count and almost 0 mobility and missing tails....they got pregnant the next month....and have 3 children now. There are soooo many stories of women getting pregnant after a bad report on a SA.
So....it only takes one. You guys will have a baby and then you will be the story that everyones tells to give other people hope!!!
Oh, and get mad....and sad. You should be, but don't stay that way for too long. There are so many people in this world that have it so much worse than we do.
lola i think there is hope as well. a friend of mine who was told she would never have kids got pregnant b accident and gave birth to her son 2 years ago. it was a total shock and pleasant surprise as she had made peace with never being a mom. her 1st husband even divorced her after 5 years of dealing with that and really wanting babies. so i believe anythings possible. hugs!
Oh, I almost forgot. I have a homeschool friend that just had a miracle baby. Her husband had a vasectomy after 2 girls and then 3 years later they decided they had made a huge mistake and went to the best reversal surgen in the country (they have the money). After 1 year of trying they had a SA done to see what was going on and he had 0 sperm....NONE!!! They were soooo upset, but kept their faith and started praying everyday for 30 minutes just for a child. Fast forward 4 years, they had stopped praying as much and were looking into adoption. Then one day they both decided they should get fired up and starting having faith again and start praying again for their child....that month she got pregnant!!! I got to hold their miracle baby BOY just a couple days ago. It is just such an awesome story and they are the best kind of people. Their girls are 12 and 10...and then the new baby :)
One more thing....Congrats Z!!! I didn't know you had a beany growing....I must visit the 2WW now.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up staying home from work 1/2 day today so we could BD at 10am this morning. I really wanted to get the timing right and I think we did ok. I am a little confused because I tested this am and got a digital negative, but it was a digital positive I got yesterday, so maybe something was screwy with it being first morning urine? Aw, thanks hun.....no, unfortunately insurnace covers no IF at all, so we would be on our own with that. The local IVF joint here gave me a price on the phone for ICSI/IVF and it's $15K.....but our plan is to get DH on some super vits immediately (I just ordered the Naturally Smart for Men that Dr. Potter and the ivf docs recommend for dhs with issues....it was $70 for a month!!!) and continue to try each month. After a year or so, we will re-evaluate and look at IVF, see if we can afford to finance it or borrow from parents or grandparents.
