UK SMOG Wannabes - November (moved from PL)

Charlie I did A level, Art photgraphy and textiles! Then started an art foundation course that I unfortunately had to drop out of. But I have an inner creative person that comes out every now and then. My family nag me to use my art in some way I'd love to sell on Folksy, or e-bay but I just don't have enough quiet time to concenrate on getting anything finished.

I love doing crafts with the kids but I sometimes get a little carried away and end up taking over lol. Poor boys.

Yum halloween treats! Allas my baking is a little limited to cupcakes and flapjacks. I wish I was a good cook. I watch the great brittish bake off in awe (and hungry!:bigsmile:)

Not trying this cycle-If my cut off stays the same my attempt will be exactly 5 weeks from today. I am toying with the idea of doing 0 + instead... so close to ovualtion scares me...

oh girls, you sound like me, all arts and crafty! i studied design and am a qualified d&t teacher (wood work/textiles) though not working at the mo! i love nothing more than spending time making stuff!

Are you doing the IG girl diet and sups or the LE diet?

I started off thinking i'd do frequent release with a cut off. And have completely changed my mind to abstainance and O+12.

It's just the more i've read this ended up being the combo that would result in highest rate of sucess.

There are sways where people BD through ov and get their girl. I think this becomes more tempting the longer you are TTC.

Lavender - i did the art foundation course then 2 years of my BA as i got pregnant but i came away with a HND which was good!

Deaks I freaking love D&T i also did that for alevels :D

As for my cooking its another creative outlet for me - i taught myself i am a bit of a make it up as i go along but it seems to work. Made a scrummy butternut squash carribean curry on monday...winged it but turned out yummy luckily

Deaks I wouldn't worry about it. I believe pH sways because it lowers sperm count, and that close to your previous attempt the count would have been incredibly low anyway.


I love craft too! William (my DS) is too young to do anything with right now, but I'm thinking of making some Christmassy things this year as it's our first Christmas at home as a family

In a way I am pleased I didn't fall last month as it means we have done enough to lower our chances but also think my sway was probably stronger in terms of weight loss and diet (I suck at the diet!).

Last month we only had one attempt on the day of :) and we dumped the first batch and used the second. This month, I was thinking about attempting as soon as I get a :) then again 2 days later (hoping for O+12) but with DH releasing in between. Any thoughts?

sounds like a good plan! I'd also consider an O-2 as well as the O and O+12 as that way you will increase your chances of conceiving even further.

Petal - your post mad me cry - I hope I get to where you are soon. Any signs of bubs arrival yet?

I am looking into high tech as a distraction, really not sure I want four kids. I can't spread myself that thin! Just finished working again 7am - 2pm and 6pm - 8:30! I think I could afford it but its the four kids part and no garantee of a baby. Seems like a real big deal to put on my three kids. Still worth considering I guess. I don't want to be a mum of 12 boys still chasing that DD!!!

elp - how exciting! My first was early and second one was late - I hope my Dave doesn't arrive on the 29th Feb!

Must work out how to get my ticker on here. Oh and look at prams some more. Nothing like buying a pram to lift your mood. I would rather a new pram to a new car anyday!

I only paid £49 for an early scan for ds3 all the prices have jumped up!!

Maybe- pram shopping definately beats car shopping anyday.....get looking for a goodun x glad you are having a better day :D

hello ladies! missed you today, been so busy with in-laws and ds2 poorly.
Didn't test this morning as temps down and really not feeling it this month. Couldn't be bothered with a bfn, they suck! So af due tomorrow....

Yum! Maybe I should give it a bit more of a go then! I try and wing it then it never really tastes that great, or as it should in my head IFYSWIM.Think I need to be more confident with spices. At least with the girl diet it involves zilch effort as your so restricted.

What sort of meals were you eating when swaying as your veggie too?

Think sunset paid around £70 -£80 for her private scan at 7 weeks

I contacted dr Savvas at Genesis, he quoted £6000 including sperm sort, if i win the lottery i'll pay for us both to go :-)
You will soon feel how i do, by my 20 week scan when dh found out (i found out alone at 16 weeks) i was at peace with it all, so within 4 weeks the pain had gone alot. Of course there are times when i get jealous of others with their pigeon pairs or 2 boys and girl but i feel sad for my little boy and he deserves to be here as much as any little girl!! i want him soooo much (just wish he would hurry up)!!! lol.

Charlie - your son is gorg!! So cute!! Mine are both blond but the little one had his mop chopped yesterday. He has a little toddler bob thing going on normally. I love watching him run and his hair going all the place.

Petal - I can't belive it's so cheap there! I could have gotten PG sooner if I had gone down the route! Still it doesn't work out for everyone. I think my fert report is too poop for IVF anyway.

Sorry it took me awhile to get back.. had to go to work!! works really getting in the way of my sway! LOL... LOVE the idea of supporting each other. I too started thinking I would do frequent with cut off. However, after more research decided on abstinence of at least 7 days with 2-3 day cut off. If I miss it I will do 0+. On IG diet. Taking supps. I posted a thread under gender swaying/trying concieve girl asking for feedback explaining my whole sway..would love you to look at it..let me know what you think.

I started feeling 'twinges' at dpo3-dpo4. I googled it and many women said it could be sign of pg but didn't want to get my hopes up.
Started to feel the dreaded sickness today and tired now. Shouldn't be on here so off to bed. Will catch up with everyone tomorrow x

in all my pgs the first sign i had within days of ov was like streching pains. like af but tummy button high

Hello hello.... after getting to bed at 9.30 last night... I got NOOooooo sleep. DS2 is quite poorly and was up most of the night. Ended up taking him to the docs today - doc thinks he has bronchiolitis so we're on all the medicine. Will be keeping an eye on him though. DS1 ended up overnight in hospital both times he got bronchiolitis.

Got my blood tests done today - FIVE vials of blood needed! FIVE!!! eugh... hate getting blood taken! :P

Oh question for everyone. My doc said that he wants to do a pap smear. I've had abnormal ones in the past and several treatments. I'm not due one until December but he thinks I should get one. I don't really want to get one because I worry I suppose. I mean if there were some abnormal cells its not as though I could get them treated until after the baby is born anyway... Anyone had a smear while PG???

deaks - when I was 3dpo I had a bit of bloody mucous when I wiped... I thought it was way too early... but it was obviously something :) you never know...

maybepink3 - so you're starting to feel a bit off? Most of the time I'm feeling not quite right but nothing major. I am hugely emotional though. I almost burst into tears at the doctors when explaining how DS2 was... which is not something I'd normally do! I kind of like getting some feelings... even the bad ones... because I can still say... 'I must be PG' :D

Anyway I have a sick little man wanting mummy-cuddles.... makes you feel so needed and special.

Thanks ladies, I'm terrible for symptom spotting in the 2ww...need to get on holiday and forget all about it! Still got cramps and today tender boobs :)

Pinga, I'm so sorry your ds2 is so poorly! I hope the meds work quickly and you can avoid him having to go to hospital. Bet you are shattered, I would stay in the sofa having cuddles all day!

He had a fab day Lavenderlime! Started to rain when we got there but the kids didn't mind and the sun did come out later. It's certainly a great day out, although a little expensive

pinga - so sorry to hear your Ds is poorly! how horrid for him. hope he gets better soon!!! ive never had a smear done never mind when ive been PG im under the age of getting one here in the uk. i think its 25

Just need a bit of advice from you girls. took my BBT this morning and it was very low than normal. took a digi with fmu and still no smiley altho the line is getting slightly darker but no way yet a positive. i did take my temp earlier than normal do you think this would affect my temp. It is right that your temp goes low just before O right? When i stuck the probe under my tounge it went into the normal range of temps but i dont normally take my temps from under the tounge, normally on the top. Just so bloody confusing, dont want to miss O this month too

Thanks for the info Charlie and Deaks. Got the cm sorted as i've been tracking that for months. Can you tell i'm trying to keep myself busy, lol.

Littlemiss- I often get a dip in temp on or before O day. taking it earlier could definitely affect it. I think taking temp under tongue is more accurate but I guess you should keep doing what you were for consistency. Hope you get your positive soon! GL
