Anyone else due??

:wave: indigo No I´m not going to find out, I have my anatomical scan on March 12, I´m looking forward to seeing the baby again and I hope the tech won´t spill the beans accidently. Really hope baby is healthy, I have this feeling the baby has Down syndrom every now and then.

By the way, at my last dr. visit she checked my vaginal pH, isn´t that weird? They never did that in my previous pregnancies.

Applesoup hope your varicose veins aren´t getting worse. Never had them. How is that ´modified´bed rest going? I can only immagine lol, my boys have some kind of sensor even if they´re in another room they just feel when I am taking a 15 seconds break sitting down.

How is everyone feeling? Indira you have to get this downs thing out of your head, I'm sure something would have been picked up in your first scans. I have my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow so ofcourse I'm still praying for a healthy belle. Other then that I've been eating sweets and chocs like its going to run out and I'm getting comments like you should be careful of gestational diabetes Should I Or it really doesn't have anything to do with that?

indira, I had that same exact feeling so many times with DS 4 and even when they put him in my arms I thought he had DS because of his appearance. There is even a crazed post about it on Ingender because he has epicanthal folds but that is because my husband is part Native American and not because of DS. I agree that they would have surely seen something on your earlier scans to be concerned about!!

Indira- I know what you mean about worrying about your baby's health, I have a child in my class with DS and I think the same thing but I'm sure we are both fine. It is natural to be worried.
I'm impressed you are staying team green, what was your reasoning/ thinking? I'm wondering whether I shouldn't have found out, too late now!

Thanks for asking. My "main" varicose vein seems to be okay. It only bothers me every few days...usually when I've been on my feet a lot. "Modified" bed rest is...practically non-existent. We received a contract on our old house last month, so now we're trying to move out...without moving out. My new house is...dirty, unorganized, and has boxes sitting everywhere. Of course, DH & I are too tired to do anything about it!

Actually, I've gained a TON of weight this past month. Obviously due to the stress that our house contract & the difficult buyers. (They've been ridiculous...asking us to replace batteries in our smoke detectors, etc.) With all 3 of my pregnancies, I gained a TON of weight. I think DS 1 & 2 were 40lb & DS3 was 52 lb!! (Of course, he was a 9.5lb baby...and is STILL a huge kid, so I have to think he was genetically supposed to be that big.)

How can I be a cute, small preggo lady like my friends? They seriously only gain weight in their tummies. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow & I've gained a strong 10 lbs... How much, total do you guys normally gain by this point? I know that in theory, 1 lb a week from here on out means 26lbs...which I would LOVE to gain. I swear, I get such a huge sweet tooth + stress eat + being pregnant = everything sticks to me. Any thoughts?

i gain heaps when im pregnant too.
my first pregnancy i gained almost 70 pounds!!!!
luckily about 50 of it was gone by the time i got home from hospital, i had a lot of fluid.

so far this pregnancy im up about 18-19 pounds, but i only gained about 3-4 up untill about 20 weeks, so most of it has been the last 6-7 weeks.
but its normal to have a big gain from 18-25 weeks , thats when the baby has the biggest growth spurt.
i wouldnt worry about it, even with a sweet tooth, just make sure you drink plenty of water.
one thing i have learned , is that your body will do its own thing, no matter what you do.
like i said, i gained heaps with my first, and i was a health freak at the time, but most of the weight was fluid.

and i havent done a thing to get ready.
i dont really need anything for the baby, but i need to get stuff organised for the others so i can have all the nursery furniture for the baby.
yesterday my dad came around and measured up the boys room for built-ins, so hopefully they will be done within a month, then i can get all the baby stuff soaked and put away.
i also need to get some bunks for the younger 2, so that i can have the cot, but thats not urgent, because the baby will be in the cradle the first few months....

Belle glad the scan went well! We had ours last week and they couldn't see her bits so couldn't confirm the sex, but she did say there's no dangling bits lol.
We don't have much to buy this time at all, new matress for the cot and I want a Moses basket this time so I'll get that, we have everything except clothes from ds2!

My problem is I want to decorate before she arrives, but in between college and the kids I'm not sure how I'll get it done lol! Might have to have a decorating party see if I can rope some friends in to help!

I've put on about 10lbs as well which I was quite shocked at to be honest, I have no idea how much input on with ds1 but I managed only 24lbs with ds2, but I am definatly following the old wives tales with this pregnancy, don't have a nice neat bump at all, just looking fat!

Here I was at...almost 22 weeks. I know I look "cute" pregnant still, I just know it all goes down hill from here... my legs, arms & FACE get huge! The worst is AFTER I give birth. Even though I give birth drug free, I allow them to give me "fluids" & petocin after I deliver. I don't know what it is about that--but it makes me BLOW UP! Just in time for pictures & visitors. I hate it.

Here's me 9 months preggo with DS3...I gain 52lbs & he was 9lb 6 oz. You can definitely tell. (I should also add that I'm 5'9".) UGH:

Where are your guys' bellies?

im only 5' 3", so ganing 70 pounds, was a big deal for me......he was 8 pound 9 ounces, i just ballooned up with fluid.

i will be taking another belly pic monday, i will be 28 weeks.

Here´s mine! I´m 20 weeks and 4 days. I feel a lot bigger than I look in the picture now that I look at it. I gained 10 kilo´s already-that is 22 pounds. I just eat whatever I want, I did the same with the boys and gained a lot in the beginning with them too but now it´s worse because I was coming of the LE diet. And I was thinner to begin with now, I think I might end up at the same weight in the end or a little over.

I´m so glad to be back home! we went away for a week on a ski holiday with my parents in law, need I say more? So happy to be able to chat again with my gender dreaming friends:)

When I had this strong feeling the baby has Down syndrom I read a couple of blogs of moms of a child with Down syndrom. At first this was weird as almost all of them had this feeling during pregnancy as well. Then reading how they are handling with their child, how much they love them and seeing these cute pictures, I calmed down and felt and still feel that if it happens, I´ll be okay with it, I can do it. And now that I feel in peace with it, this feeling my baby has Down syndrom has gone away. I´m back to obsessing over gender now lol.

I´m not finding out because I think I will handle hearing it´s a boy better at birth. I´ve been going back and forth about it a lot of times, because it´s so tempting to find out when it is a girl. But I have to keep in touch with reality, it is probably a boy and I think I will handle that better when the fact it´s a boy is one aspect of many others: whether he looks like DS1 or DS2, seeing the little fingers, the birth experience, seeing DS1 and DS2 holding their little brother. If I would find out now, I would have a lot of weeks to focus only on him not being a girl, just this one aspect and I think it would depress me more than it will at birth.
Having said that :) I´m absolutely dying here and peeing in my paints because I have my 20 weeks scan tomorrow morning, I hope I will resist. And that the baby is healthy. AArrggh I´m loosing it, I think I will understand just looking at the skullshape that it´s a boy. I have this mental picture of the 17 weeks scan of his face, and in my memory it wasn´t pointy at all. I hope I get to have a look at my baby and enjoy that, forgetting about this whole gender thing.

All went well, I´m so relieved right now, the baby looks healthy!
He/she just has a white spot on the heart, it can be a soft sign for Down syndrom but it can also be an innocent thing and it was the only soft sign they saw. So I´m not worried about it anymore.
I saw the baby in 4D and got a lot of 4D pictures of the face, I´m very happy about how things went.
Still on team green, but I think the head shape def. looks boyish.

Oh that is great to hear baby healthy. Try not to worry about the white spot, although that is easier said than done. Glad you got lots of lovely pics. Can't believe you are still team green, you are strong!! So glad you are happy about how it went and had a good experience. It is so reasurring to see healthy, moving baby, a miracle really.
My scan is next tues (20th) and I know I will just have to confirm gender again.

i totally hear everything you said about it being easier to deal with if you find out at the birth, thats why im team green.
disaspointment+pregnancy hormones are a bad mix, i found that out last time.

but once its born, it just dosent matter anymore:wink:

less than 12 weeks to go, and whats even scarier is that if i go early, like with my first 3, it could be here in as soon as 8 weeks!!!!!
and i have done NOTHING to get ready.....

I know what you mean, all of a sudden I´m 21 weeks and perhaps we should start thinking about where this baby is going to sleep and how it´s going to be transported! And we need to agree on names. I bought some fabrics to sew onesies and I have to remember to make a sling, Ds2 cried first 3 months and I used to carry him around all day attached to me.
Do you all have names already?

Must be so exciting for kids to have a teacher that is pregnant.
I´m so relieved I have the scan behind me. DH worried at first about the white spot, because he didn´t consider the baby could have down´s syndrom before, I already gave it a lot of thought and not seeing all the other soft markers really took away my worries.
Had another two days of migraine, glad I´m feeling better now.

so much better than a hot hospital gown, and has all the openings for monitors etc while being discreet at the same time.

i also bought an outfit for baby to come home from hospital in, which was hard when we are team green, most things are pink or blue, and since it will be mid winter when its born that made it a bit harder to find something too, but i ended up a white velour outfit with animals embroided on the front.
its got the jacket, pants and matching hat and mittens.

we havent even discussed names yet.
we will figure that out once its born, none of the others were named untill after the birth.

Thanks hon:HH: Yes, it is late tomorrow and although I'm fully expecting to hear boy, there is still that slim possibility that it is a girl, it will be good to know for sure.
Yes I am still working, the kids have only just worked out I am pregnant and the girls are starting to get excited, it is sweet!

Glad your migraines have gone, how awful for you, they are such hard work, are you able to take anything for them when you are pg?

Actually I never had migraines before, it started during my sway. I think lowering testosteron caused it.
My dr. told me I can take paracetamol now, but it doesn´t really help. I know now it lasts two days and then it goes away.

I love the delivery gown dannikins! I think I´m going to get a boy and a girl take-home outfit.
I went through our newborn stuff yesterday, found two little mint green hats with a knot in the end I have, so cute.
Being busy with the boys all day I still don´t realize I´m going to have a tiny newborn again in 4 months.

Thanks ladies, well of course it is definitely a boy....kind of good to know for definite and I can start to get over it and get excited (although this might take a bit of time, I'd rather deal with it now than at the birth). The scan was lovely and he did look a little cutie and healthy too which of course is totally wonderful.

I finally seem to be developing a bump now, which is nice! Feeling tired of course, altho I'm passed out by 10 most nights and sleeping till 7/8 I really don't have any right to be tired lol!
Might see if I can get a doctors appointment to check my iron levels, I haven't seen a midwife since 16 weeks and my next appointment isn't until 28 weeks! It's crazy how long we go between visits!

i started my 2 week checks last week, go back again on monday, every 2 weeks untill 36 then its weekly.

I've been really busy lately with building a new house. It started out as a renovation and were ending up with a new dwelling because weve decided to live there for good so we might as well make it new and it's only a little bit more money. (our renos were major) My husband and my father are doing most of the work so Im also doing alot of the running around choosing things before the baby arrives. It won't be ready by then, she'll be in a cradle in my room but hopefully by the time she needs her cot and her own room we will be done.
I haven't bought much, my sisters have been buying more for her but I did buy a new nappy bag from the US ebay, a Storksak Olivia it's so beautiful we don't have that in Australia and it also looks like a normal handbag because I got sick of my old ones I wanted something different.

I'm here! Just got done selling our old house & moving into our new house. FINALLY, I get to focus on OUR house & getting ready for the baby.

I have a TMI question for you gals... When you know you're going to have your cervix checked OR that you're going into labor soon, do you guys groom your pubic hair? Cut it short? Cut it all off together? For the past few babies, I've just trimmed the bikini lines...but realized this time that maybe I should cut it shorter? I'm just trying to gauge what's "normal" so I'm not that weird lady that needs to get with the program!

Oh...and my other question...do you guys have a nursing bra you LOVE? For my first 3 pregnancies I messed around with the stupid low-end bras that haven't washed well or worn well-- Especially since I wear them day & night for a year! This past summer, my sister introduced me to Victoria's Secret bras. I've never been one to drop $50 on a bra. But, OH. MY. GOODNESS. I'm never going back!

My problem? My chest has grown already & I can't find a bra that is anywhere near as soft or supportive as my Victoria's Secret bras...and they don't have a nursing line. I'd like a bra that has a cup to it (so my nursing pads don't show through).

Any suggestions?

(Also, what type of nursing pads do you guys use...disposable or washable?)

as far as bras go, its hard!
i wear the lycra bonds maternity ones to bed at night , they are super comfy, and dont cut in or anything.

day bras are becoming harder and harder to find anything that fits properly and is comfortable.
i need new ones too, but most of them cut in, or they are too low cut in the middle and you keep falling out of them.

i use disposable nursing pads, because im a human milk machine, i leak too much for the reusable ones.
especially while im feeding, if bub is on the left boob the right boob needs to have the pad changed mid feed, from let down and i usually have to put a towel over it, else it goes everywhere.

the johnsons ones seem to be the most absorbant, they have one of those cores filled with the tiny absorbant beads, they hold soooo much liquid, and they are really soft to wear.

as for grooming........well i havent been able to see down there in months.....lol
and since everything gets so hairy when your pregnant, im guessing it aint pretty!

i dont really worry about it for checkups etc, the drs are use to seeing all sorts of types and i doubt a bit of extra hair will freak them out.
but in saying that , when i get to about 34 weeks i usually trim it all back with the clippers, just so as its not so forest like for the birth...
plus i think its better to have it all shorter for post partum bleeding, easier to keep everything clean etc.
i usually have some razors in my hospital bag, and my first shower after the birth i tackle my legs and bikini line etc.

I wish I produced as much milk as you do--just for the sake of pumping! What a pain to leak that much during general feedings, though. I find if my nursing pad is out of place, that I'll leak through on the side I'm not nursing on. Such a pain. Have you heard about "LilyPadz Reusable Nipple Cover Nursing Pads"? I saw these in the hospital store the other day. Apparently, it's supposed to keep enough pressure on it that you won't leak. Might be a good thing for you!

I hate the nursing pads. I've used disposable--I too like Johnson's & the fit the best. Part of me hates wasting money on those things. The other part of me knows I'd lose washable ones left & right if I used them. I may look into the LilyPadz too...
