Yeah, my daily life involves a bit of walking. A typical work day is walking into town to the bus stop, walking 1 mile (at a guess) from the bus to my son's childminder's house, walking to the train station from her house, walking from the train station to a bus stop... and I work in a hospital so while I am at a desk job, I am up and down constantly.
And then errands, i.e. tonight I walked with my nearly 30lb son in a front carry in my Beco carrier to the store and back.
So, I'm fairly active (but not in a forced-exercise way, just day to day walking from point a to point b to point c...)...
Snack it is!
I may be more girl friendly than I feel like I am (I have three brothers, my husband has two brothers... I have that "destined to only have boys" feelings but maybe not since everyone eat meat but my husband and I!)
I had my af cheat night yesterday, so I won't torture you all by telling you what I ate. Let's just say it involved LOTS of cheese, chocolate, and oily deep fried goodness
Back to rice for lunch today. Sigh.
I've not had the best diet day either:
no breakfast
11am: slice of birthday cake
1pm: kids-size IKEA meatballs, chips, and peas
5pm: skewer of chocolate covered strawberries from the German market. I hadn't seen them for sale since I was in Germany with my Dad before he died, so I got emotional and DH bought some for me. Think I might have an apple later too
No Breakfast but had 1 cup coffee with unsweetened soy milk.
Lunch: cream cheese and skinless cucumber sandwich on weight watchers bread and a 0% fat yogurt.
Snack at 8pm: (Was waiting for husband to get home... he doesn't get home until 10pm...) three Ryvita thins with two of them having a small smear of low fat hummus. Also had another cup of coffee with unsweetened soy milk.
Dinner: 1 cup (uncooked) pasta with 1/2 cup grilled veggies, 4 tablespoons of green beans, about 40ish grams of reduced fat cream cheese, rosemary, black pepper, and a splash of lemon juice.

Why can't I get more calories?! But now my protein is bordering on high... so anything I'd snack on would have to have, like... 0 protein.
I felt like I ate all day, ha! Geez...
:/
If I eat a Mr Kipling mince pie... it will take me to 1,232 calories and 49 protein... should I? :o
There are lots of sweets with no protein and practically no sodium - I rely on those to bring my calories up. If all you have on hand is the mince pie, though, go for it. Next time you're grocery shopping look for sweet treats that appeal to you and read the label - it's good to stock up on lots of stuff like that. Juice or full sugar soda is another great way to add calories without adding anything else. Also check out atomic's post on 100-300 calorie snacks for ideas.
Here's today:
7am: coffee
12pm: 1/2 cup rice with spinach, fat free yogurt and balsamic vinegar, homemade sugar cookie for dessert
3pm: a few pieces of curd cheese  (I was visiting my brother and he offered me some - it's one of my biggest weaknesses but I was proud I only had a few pieces)
6pm: leftover homemade vegetarian lasagna
8:30pm: green grapes, Mike & Ikes
Calories: 1336
Protein: 39g
Sodium: 1000mg (damn that curd cheese!)
suregena - I'd go up to 60g protein especially if you're BF. Eat more empty calories like marshmallows or non-jelly sweets. Even cake could be an option to get the values up! It's BETTER to go over on the other values just to eat more calories.
