Anyone else due??

I had those reusable silicon pads, I think they´re those Lily pads, for Ds 2, now I don´t remember why it didn´t work but in the end I went back to disposables. I think they often loosened and then I leaked anyway.
I hate using nursing pads too but I need them, a lot of leaking here too. I shouldn´t use them since with both boys I got candida in my nipples (sorry I don´t know how you call this in English), so painful feeding with that.

I´m glad you adressed the shaving issue Applesoup:oops: I have to say I don´t cut or shave for dr. visits now, with my boys a week before due date I depilated my legs and bikini line. Dannikins I don´t know how you can shave during your first shower after birth without fainting!

I need a new bra too, now I´m just wearing a big size normal one that I used after breastfeeding DS2, reading about your bra´s now I remember I wore one at night too in my previous pregnancies. I know what you mean with the Victoria´s Secret bra, I had to leave mine in the wardrobe 5 months ago unfortunately. I´m just too lazy to go out now and buy bra´s, getting undressed all the way doesn´t appeal to me right now. So sorry I have no advice about good soft maternity- or feeding bra´s.

We´ve been soo lazy the last couple of days, DS1 was sick and Ds2´s kindergarten is closed so we just hang around at home all day. Then DS1 has his school vacations next week, I hope his ear will be better by then so at least we can go out. The week before I finally got some energy and made long walks in the morning and decorated our home for Easter, now I´m in pyjamas all day and we´re having pizza or french fries for dinner every evening :(

Grr just wrote a massive reply and it wouldn't post, so the gist of it was

Growing nicely, want a water birth so birthing wear will depend on that! And I shave the whole lot off every week to two weeks lol. Use johnsons breast pads also and I leak tonnes so end up expressing while feeding!

Has anyone see littlemisswilco at all? She had her 20 week scan last week but I've not seen her about :( hope she's ok x

I would like to have a water birth too but I´m giving birth in the hospital so have to see if the tub isn´t occupied.
I have two places I can go to, I have to find out where my changes of getting the tub are better :)
Kell did you have a water birth before?

our hospital dosent allow planned water births, unless you are in the bath and all of a sudden need to push.

i get really bad back labour, and usually once the contractions get close i end up stuck on the bed unable to move.

32 weeks today.
feeling freakishly small compared to my other pregnancies, maybe ill have a small baby for a change...

Indra nope not had a water birth before, our local hospital has a
Midwife led maternity unit and there are a few pools in there I believe but it's a first come first serve basis if you will!

Dannikins your bump is lovely! I've not taken a single picture of mine so far, this pregnancy I'm putting weight on everywhere and I feel like a blimp! Don't like it at all :(

You look great Dannikins! Maybe a smaller baby will mean an easier birth..?
Although..my bump was nice and small twice but babies weren´t small.
My sons have big heads and this one was measuring ahead for head meaurements too :sigh:
I´m really hoping the water will help not getting torn up again.

They don´t do planned water births here neither, both places have just one tub. The nearest hospital has only two delivery rooms cause they have less births. The other is more distant, they have 4 delivery rooms and it´s an anthroposophical hospital so better changes of having a natural birth without interventions if not needed. I think maybe all lot of woman choose to go there because they want to have a natural birth so a lot of them might want a water birth. In the end it´s just luck I guess.

Kell I´m also putting on weight everywhere, I´ll have to buy new maternity jeans if my legs and behind continue to grow like this, come on spring!

i have been pretty lucky so far, other than the horrible back labour, my births were pretty easy, and quick.
my last was only 52 mins start to finish, and he was 9 pound 1 ounce.

im almost done getting everything ready, just have a couple more loads of stuff to soak, then i can get my bag packed.....

I WISH my hospital did water birth--they don't. That's the one way I would like to give birth...oh well. When you guys have used water to ease birthing contractions, how many cm were you when you enjoyed the water the most?

With DS 1, I planned & had a semi-drug-free delivery...I didn't know how to prepare for a drug-free birth (which I went on to have with DSs 2 & 3). Anyway, after suffering through my 2nd round of Pheyntenol(?), I decided to hop into the hospital's birthing tub. It was horrible. And I can't decide if it's because my pain receptors were blocked & going natural after drugs was just difficult...or if it was because the hospital's tub was very small, barely covered 1/2 my belly & was set to 99.9 degrees.

I just moved and have a nice BIG tub that fits me...belly & all! I'm eager to use it during labor, but can't decide if water is best tolerated & helpful early on or later on?

Also, how hot is too hot for a normal bath during pregnancy? Is it okay to increase the temperature during labor? Anyone know?

Apple I'm not sure about when it's best used, I had a bath in the hospital in early labour with ds1 and that was fine but not been near water in labour other than that.
I've just found this link Waterbirth at home it says not to go above 37.5 degrees while in labour, and I believe that's the same in pregnancy as well, baby can't regulate it's own temperature so a change in our body temperature can cause distress.

Wow your maternity units are only small, I think our one has around 15 delivery rooms, and the wards for aftercare are massive! We must have a high birth rate here :)

I wear the berlei maternity bras but I'm not sure if there in Australia only. I'm abit lazy and can't be bothered washing so I also use j&j disposable bra pads and I definitely shave down there using a small mirror to see. Dannikins you look fantastic and I was thinking the same with wanting to faint in the shower after giving birth. Applesoup very exciting news moving into ur new house, mine won't be ready in time so I'll be stuck in my motherinlaws house for a few months after birth. Is anyone else getting those Braxton hicks pains yet? I've been having them just about every night for the past two weeks and my belly button has popped out in the last month. Dannikins I also want to buy those pretty labour dresses in the navy and hot pink detail but is that for during labour or later? Can it be at a private or public hospital? Sorry I sound so stupid.

:omg: 15 delivery rooms!! Yeah that´s a bit different! When I had DS2 we were still living in Italy, the hospital I went to had only one delivery room and one big room with two beds to observe how labour is progressing. When I arrived, there were already 4 girls in labour there so I was in a normal patient room with 3 other women. I walked around a lot and felt things progressing, when I wasn´t able to walk around anymore I sat on the bed and wasn´t able to move or speak from there. Fortunately the midwife came to ask how I was doing, she checked me, I was dilated 9 cm so then they sent the girl that was labouring in the delivery room in another room so I could give birth.

Belle I get BH pains every now and then when I´ve been walking around to much or carry around heavy things.
I´m so happy your belly button popped out! lol because this midwife tale stuck in my head that boy bellies have belly buttons sticking out and girl bellies haven´t. My upper halve is sticking out.
Do you have a good relationship with your MIL? Will you move to her house when the baby is born or before? I´m sure that she will really help you out with your sons, but I admire you. I´m already a nervous wreck when I think of my inlaws coming over for 2 weeks around birth to help us out, I took them an appartement because I don´t want them around me when labour begins or when I´m back from the hospital with stitches and leeking breasts and lack of sleep. I wish I could be a better DIL, this will probably all come back at me when my sons get married lol.

they are for during labour, they have all the openings so that you can be monitored, and have epis etc , but still be discreet, i think they are great, especially if you are having more than just DH in the room with you.

my belly button has never popped out with any of mine, and i have 4 boys...:)
it just gets really flat.

im having BH all the time, the worst of it is DTD, dont even have to have an O , they just come during sex, kind of ruins the mood.....between BH and leg cramps.....

Hi girls hope all is well. Dannikins not long now is everything ready? I've been busy looking for a bigger car because I can't fit a capsule, booster and child comfortably at the back. So another stress on top of my head along with my house. Indira I'm already at my mother in laws house now it's not too bad she works full time and spends time at her daughters alot and travels overseas yearly for 4-6 months(her other son lives there) our house is already demolished and building has started. She is booked to go overseas in June but now she is going to stay to see the baby and then go for four months this time. Yeh to be honest I still want her gone because no she doesn't help anyway apart from telling me what to do.

Belle that doesn´t sound too bad, except for her telling you what to do:sigh:

I saw my dr. today and she told me she will see me every 2 weeks now :suprise:
She had a quick look and told me baby is head down :) I was sure it was breech or transversal since I feel very low movements and no kicks up high.
On Monday I met my aftercare midwife, she was very nice and told me about the nearest hospital the small one,because she also works there, I like what she told me so I think I´ll go there. She has BBG herself, thought that was a good omen.

Dannikins were your boys born early? Sounds like you won´t get to 40 weeks.
How do you handle your 4 boys while 33 weeks pregnant?? By 2 o´clock I´m so exhausted, mainly because of DS2 that has been always a very sunny, sweet child and has decided to start the terrible 2´s at 3 years and a halve :sigh:

Belle, yep im all sorted now, got my bag packed and ready, only thing i have to do is wash the car seat cover.
i still have other stuff to do around the house, but the baby side of things is all organised.
we had a 6 person family and a 5 seater car when i my last was born, was a total pain in the tush, especially since DH had no license at the time and i had to be taxi.
couldnt leave the house for anything with out a baby sitter, tried to get everything i needed to do, done while the eldest was at school.
we juggled like that for 6 months, then i put the car through a fence one day in the rain, hit an oily patch and lost control, so it was a good excuse to pull my finger out and get a bigger car.

Indira, the first 3 were early.
38 weeks, 37 weeks, and 35 weeks, the youngest was a week over due.
so good chance i wont get to 40.
the boys arent too bad, easter holidays were tireing though, and i have just a few days ago realised that the end of term one is begining of june, so it will be school holidays with a new born, good in a way, because i wont have to be running to and from school, but not looking forward to all the noise, and arguing etc.

atm im ready to go back to bed at about 10am...lol..we are up about 6-630.
im so tired, but plod along, i usually go to bed of a night when the kids do.

Oh Indira I had a 3-4 year old who started being a terrible two for nearly 2 years until he started school. Dannikins you definitely look like you've dropped I think your going to have the baby early and I have a feeling it's going to be a girl.
I feel like I'm going to have mine early also all her weight on my belly is hanging low and I can't walk around anymore. I was at Safeway yesterday and I walked out to sit on the bench for 5 minutes and drink water then I went back to continue shopping and everyone keeps on telling me how tiny I am but I feel like my belly is so huge and Im always out of breath. Ugh I don't know how im going to last.
How is everyone else going?

i know exactly how you feel, i cant stand for more than a few minutes at a time, the weight just drags me down, and getting comfortable to sleep is just not happening at all, always something hurting, pelvis, hips back etc, its always something.

im worried im going to end up dissapointed, the last few weeks im thinking this is a girl.
im trying to prepare myself for another boy, but i cant get the thought of it being a girl out of my head, hopefully its intuition, and not desire playing with my head.

Dannikins- I really really hope it is your intuition and this is your girl :pray: My intuition (boy) has always been right so hopefully it is for you too, FX

Intuition has been correct for Auroara recently so I have good hopes for you.
And although changes are 50/50 ofcourse, when you´ve had 4 boys already I would reaaaaallly think it is your turn now!
Having 5 of the same gender, waht are the changes of that?
If it´s a boy, I think some disappointment is inevitable, but you´ll have a lot of distraction. And if you restrict your intuition feeling it´s a girl now, it´s not going to make the disappointment any less.

Confession: I was in my birth country last weekend and we bought one girly newborn outfit and 3 girly onesies. Yeah I did spend a couple of hours imagining what it´s going to be like actually putting them on my baby and thinking what a shame it will be if I won´t use them. But after that I´m completely neutral again, not to desperate for a girl, it is as if just buying these was already enough for me.

Dh had a day off work today and we went and bought everything we need for the baby in one shop. Lovely feeling! From being unprepared in a couple of hours I turned into completely preparated! We bought a pram, bath, small things and a little crib that you can attach to our bed, it´s the first time we´re letting the baby sleep with us, lesson learned after DS2! He started sleeping through at 2 years.

Belle eeks your son kept that up until he started school?? My DS2 used to be such a sweet boy...
What you´re describing is exactly how I felt few weeks before DS2 was born, sounds like you´re not going to last to 40 weeks either.

Aww girls I really do hope you get your little girls. Indira it's a good feeling buying for your maybe daughter. I use to buy for my imaginary daughter and it's been a good omen because now she's a reality. Which reminds me I'm going to book a 4d ultrasound for my bellybou, I can't wait to see her prescious face and toes and everything. I had ds1 2 weeks early and ds2 3 weeks early so maybe I'll be lucky to get to the end of June...or who knows

Indira- glad you are still feeling happy with either gender. It is wonderful to get all that stuff sorted, it is lovely having new things for a new baby, makes it feel so real and exciting!

I'm feeling really good about this baby being a boy now, I am amazed at how happy I am about it, I was really expecting a lot of GD but I am so relieved. All you girls have definitely helped me :HH:

well, i woke up about 4.30 yesterday morning with mild contractions, 5-7 mins apart, lasing about a minute each.
they werent super painful, but bad enough to keep me awake.

guzzled a heap of water, had a hot shower and changed positions etc, eventually, after about 4 hours they eased up, and totally stopped by the afternoon.
havent had any more today, but have been loosing bits of plug every time i go to the loo, and feeling kinda odd down there, so im guessing there was some dialation going on.
bub is also sitting lower than ever.

i have only ever had one faulse start like that before, and that was with my youngest, on his due date, he was born a week later.
just going to take it easy for the next couple of weeks, im only 10 days away from 37 weeks...:)
if we can keep it in there untill then i will be happy..:think:

O dannikins that must have been a bit scary! Although I´m sure the baby would be fine if it would come now, if it will stay in for another 10 days things will be easier I guess! Well you´re not going to arrive untill 41 weeks, that´s clear!
My Ds2 birth went just like that, with two false starts and loosing the plug. Are you going to see your midwife/dr.?
The good thing about your baby starting to being on the way is that we will know soon what you´re having!!

Wow! I can't believe they're starting so early for you, Dannikins! Then again, I've -always- been late. Would they really stop your labor around 36 weeks? I've always wondered that... Keep us posted!

no, my 3rd was born 35 weeks, and down here once you hit the 35 week mark, they dont try to stop it.
interesting to see how many preggos have their babies this week, it is the super moon on sunday....

Oh Dannikins how exciting I can't wait to get to that stage where we're nearly holding our gorgeous smelling soft newborns in our arms. I'm so excited for you.

well our FF due in june group has their first arrival today, he was born 32 weeks, but doing great.
really makes you realise how real it all is, these babies are going to be here real soon....

Wow 32 weeks that's a bit early. Congratulations to them hope baby and family are well.
I had a scare on Friday because I had a little blood on the toilet paper after I wiped myself so I called my obs and told me to lay down on my back drink ice water make sure no abdominal pain and baby is moving, I was so scared and the obs is so calm and said sometimes its one ofthose things that can just happen in the last trimester. I should try keep my feet up yeh right with 2 bratsumus to take care of I've never been more active. Anyway because of this scare I thought I better get my butt into gear and start organizing the house and room for a big clean up and get all the newborn things I need and cradle to start with.
How is everyone else going with preparation for your newborns?

Scary, Belle! I'd freak out if I saw blood too! (I don't even like to see it when I'm in labor...makes me worry!)

My house preparations aren't going very well. Due mainly to the fact that I'm basically useless, just moved a month ago, and I'm trying to get all the kids' rooms decorated before she comes. Which I need my mom (who is always too busy) & my husband (who's already busting his behind as much as possible).

I think I'm doing well on clothes--mainly because I've turned into quite the shop-a-holic! I really can't help myself...she's going to wear ALL dresses. :)

Now, I'm just trying to get myself mentally ready for another drug-free birth. I enjoy the rush from having a drug-free birth & believe in it--but, I've found that I need to thoroughly prepare myself so I'm ready to deal with the pain. In the past I've done classes, but I feel a bit ridiculous attending a birth class for my 4th baby. People looked weird at me for attending one for my 2nd baby. I've ordered some new books...if only they'd get here already! Anyone else do drug-free births? How are you preparing this time?

Belle, that must have been scary, how are you doing now? It´s good you´re already 29 weeks, so feeling your baby move may be reassuring.

I have a lot of energy right now so doing a lot of preparations. I´m sewing 3 boy onesies, a little dress to give birth in and maybe I´ll make a Swaddleme too. I´m trying to find a babysitter for August when the boys will be at home from school for a couple of hours to take them for a walk to a playground. I will have a drug-free birth too Applesoup, I´m listening to hypnobabies MP3´s , found a couple of free downloads for relaxation/connecting with the baby and I paid for one specifically for last part of labour. After lunch I give each son a little picnic to eat in their own room while listening to a Cd so they don´t disturb me for 15-20 minutes. But I usually fall asleep listening to these lol. I make 1 hour walks in the morning when it´s not raining, I have been very lazy on the LE diet and in the first trimester.

It seems to me that baby has finally turned, now I feel movements like I did with the boys, before it was so weird, only kicks very very low.

im fine..:) still here.
started some super nesting, been scrubbing and sorting the entire house.

Indira did you say you've sewn boy onesies??? Make sure you have a couple of girly ones too yeh? and do you honestly walk an hour a day now? I struggle for a walk inside the supermarket. No walking for me. My bloods came back severely anaemic so I'm on 4 times the amount of iron tablets because I'm not that into meat right now and I have a urine infection so I'm on antibiotics for that. I'm also hoping for a drug free birth if all is well, I went drug free for the first 2 so I'm hoping for the same unless my fibroids are in the way and may need a ceaser but the obs said will see. How is everyone else going?
