have you had your dating scan date come through yet Zana?
I had my booking in appointment with the midwife today but the scan date will come in the post, not long to wait though! I just really want to know that there's actually a healthy baby in there - it's hard to believe until you've seen or heard it isn't it? I still feel like a fake!
Did your midwife try to find a heartbeat today?
I know what you mean - I won't rest easy until I 1) hear a heartbeat and 2) see that there's only ONE baby in there! It's so hard to believe I'm pregnant most of the time, especially since that bit of m/s I had seems to have been a one day thing.
It didn't even occur to me until afterwards that I could have asked them to try to find a heartbeat! To be honest, I think they would have said it's too early. I have to wait for my scan date to arrive in the post so still no news on that front. I'm just pleased DS3 was so well behaved because I was really worried about an hour long appointment at the time when he's usually sleeping! I gave a LMP date 3 days before my real one because I wanted the EDD to be the correct one by when I ovulated - and they still gave me a due date 2 days later than they should have! I'm sure they don't read their little wheel thing right sometimes but my due date will probably be decided by my 12 week scan anyhow.
That's exciting! Most mws in the UK won't even try to find a heartbeat until 16weeks

Really? Here in Canada, they always try to find a heartbeat during the first appointment, after warning you that it's really early and not to worry if they can't find it. Maybe it's to add a little excitement to an otherwise mundane appointment that includes a pap smear and blood work. I'll be 10W1D at my first appointment.
If only they did that here too! I heard Williams heartbeat from 10 weeks as I bought my own doppler, but TBH up until 9 weeks the uterus is still behind the pubic bone so it would be VERY difficult to find the heartbeat anyway?
They didn't find ds3's heartbeat at the first appointment or my twins' heartbeats, so I agree it's rare to hear it that early - as I said, they warn you not to worry if they don't find one.
Hi girls, I'm back.....
CD1 for me, so roll on the next 2 weeks till I can try again! Thinking of doing compressed release this time though rather than daily release as think it is potentially more effective.
Zan, good luck for your scan date. I would very much doubt they would have listened today even if you had asked! They couldn't find DS2's heatbeat at 16 weeks! (was a bit scary at the time but think she was just being a bit thick!!)
Good luck to anyone attempting soon. xx
If it helps ease any of your minds, both of my son's heartbeats were detected at 10 weeks. I was/am relatively thin so this may help?
I'm considering starting licorice root for the PCOS in addition to the saw palmetto and metformin I am taking. I'm not sure it is safe so I have to do some research, but I don't want to be the pear-shaped, no boobs, bearded lady. :D
