I was just thinking how low my kicks were too. I don't remember them being that low either with my son. She always starts kicking at 5 am and wakes me up. I love it!! :)
I had to go to San Francisco early today for work. I was up at 430, but as my husband was dropping me off at the airport at 5 am, she started in. So cute!
We landed on the runway right next to the crash. It was crazy surreal to see the damage just sitting there.
I'm going to check out the exercises tonight, bythe******!
-
Wow that's crazy Lizzie, it would have been a bit frightening in a way.
-
I get kicks mostly low, but have felt them a lot on my right side about mid way up. Almost towards my back. Its odd. I have my US tomorrow at 1 So excited!! lol Hopefully baby lets us see. OK I am not trying to sound rude to anyone that has a lot of boys. I am just sooo worried that this might end up being a boy (have thought from the beginning girl, but may just be because I want it to be so bad). Knowing that we were never having kids again, I was happy with my 1 girl and 3 boys (we tried for a girl on number 4 but got our little man). I am worried that I will be unhappy with my family. I want my little man to stay that way! I just feel so at a loss as to what I am going to do if this is a boy. My 3 boys are seriously crazy! My girl is like an angel compared to them lol. I don't know how I will handle another boy if he is like the other 3. Don't get me wrong I love them and would not want to change them, but I am worried... Sorry to spill this on everyone, just felt like I needed to get it out of my system before tomorrow....:nails::tissue:
-
Does that make me a bad mom??.....
-
No it doesn't make you a bad mom! I've heard tons of people say their boys and harder than their girl(s). It just hasn't been my experience that's all. My DD is just as mischievous as my DS3. My DS1 and 2 have always been fairly easy going except for DS1 dramatic side! If I had to rate them easiest to hardest it would be DS1, DS2, DD, DS3. But again. Just my experience. I wanted another girl this time for DD to have a sister, however we will be swaying boy for number 6!!!
-
You're not a bad mum Zem. It's understandable to be apprehensive when your scan is so close, I remember I was so stressed. But like mommymachine said bubs gender doesn't have any bearing on its personality. I've seen plenty of crazy girls and laid back boys. I do hope you hear girl though.
-
Glad I'm not the only one with sure low kicks! I almost feel like her leg is going to pop out they are so low!! I'm really hoping bub goes early too just because I'm so over being pregnant. Initially i wanted her to be late as timing wise it would be ideal but now I just want her out and I'm only 1/2 way thru... I'm hoping the times flies by!

Had my US today, baby looks good. Weight is 11 oz, what should it be for almost 20 weeks (will be 20 tomorrow)? Also ITS A GIRL :omg:! lol So happy. What are some fun ways to announce it to family? :pickuphappy:
-
Zem congratulations!!! I'm thrilled for you! I just announced mine today, I put up her ultrasound picture with her name on it and just wrote a nice message that we were expecting again.

Yay congrats Zem! We sent this out
-
Congrats zem!!!
For our announcement, I made chocolate cupcakes, hollowed out the middle and put pink frosting inside. Then I re-assembled the cupcakes and frosted them white on top with pink and blue sprinkles. Then we told our boys that we had a special dessert. When I served it, I asked them, "He or she? What will it be? Take a bite to see!" The boys are so happy that they're finally getting the sister they've been asking for for years.
For my parents and siblings, we wanted to skype and cut into a cupcake to show them, but with us being stretched across three times zones (and my parents were out of town) and having various activities that night like Scouts, I just had to tell each of them on the phone. But they were all excited nonetheless. DH's family isn't into cute ways to announce, so we just called his parents and emailed his siblings. His mom was so cute... she said, "Oh, the girls are finally coming!" because she has fifteen grandsons and two granddaughters. This will be her third granddaughter.

Hi Ladies - sorry I've been MIA for a while. We've been very busy between traveling and appointments. So my u/s was terrible. I posted in the u/s forum about it but in a nutshell the tech was horrible and said she "forgot to look" for gender, and then checked again and said she "couldn't tell" but "didn't see a penis" when she was scanning before. I didn't even get any pictures and she barely spoke English. I'm going to ask my midwives to refer me for another scan so I can get some pictures and actually see a competent tech next time around. We'll see what happens. Anyway I'm feeling a little nervous but still feel confident I'm having a girl based on my early scan. I just wish the 18 week scan would have gone better. :(
-
I replied on your other thread babygirl4me.
-
Zem, yay!!!! So so excited for you!!! Good work. :) You guys are sweet about creative ways to tell. I just called everyone as I was going to burst with the news. I loved your picture, bythwe******!
Babygirl4me, so sorry to hear about your bad u/s. That is terrible. After my son was born we had a terrible u/s experience with him, loooong story but anyway I can't even imagine going through that on your 18 week scan. I did write a complaint about it. I would talk to your midwife for sure.
-
Babygirl4me- I'm so sorry. Don't these techs understand that this is an exciting, special time for the moms? They should try their best to make it a great experience!
-
That's horrible, so sorry for your bad US.... We have had some of those. Last pregnancy I fell down the stares at 34 weeks. That tech acted like I did it on purpose to hurt my little man!! She kept giving me these dirty looks, and when I would ask if everything with the baby was looking ok. She responded "well I hope you are happy, you still get to keep your baby"! What the heck! Anyways he was ok, had some issues with delivery with the cord, but other than that he is now perfect. This time I am so glad, we had the best tech, she even showed me things that I have never been told about on a US. I still have the bleeding spots that we have to watch, we are worried that they may restrict growth in the 3rd tri. So we will have to be keeping extra close watch on the baby. Hopefully nothing happens and they go away. Other than that baby looked perfect, can't believe she was 11 oz, wonder if that is true this time or not lol. Wow half way!! Only 18-19 weeks left for me. That is so crazy. I have so much to get ready for this little girl... Also talked to Dr. yesterday, we are planning on getting my second tubal ligation done about 5 weeks after she gets here. This time they are going to be removing the entire tubes, he said that if I get pregnant after that he will bow down to me lol. He said he has NEVER heard of anyone getting pregnant with having that much done. That's why I have to wait till 5 weeks PP because it is a harder surgery that will require more.. Not quite looking forward to that, but oh well I guess. Hope everyone is well!
-
Also to let everyone know its a girl, we are thinking of getting some non see through, non gender balloons. Putting pink sparkles/confetti or something pink in them, blowing them up and giving everyone one to pop. What do you guys think?
-
Sorry for your bad ultrasound Babygirl4me. It should be such an exciting time not a disappointment.
I think the balloons sound like a great idea Zem
-
Zem - I like your balloon idea and I was stunned to hear about your ultrasound horror story. I probably would have clocked your tech in the head. The nerve of that person!
-
-
Yes it's very quiet on here, I'm doing well had a check up yesterday and everything is great.
-
Good news, bythe******! My next appointment isn't until July 31st and it's the fun glucose test!! haha
Mommymachine, how are you doing? Sorry, I think I might have not said congrats on your girl! So excited for you too.
Are we all done with the gender scans now? Does everyone know? I am so happy it's all over, but it was fun waiting to hear everyone's news!
-
Thanks! My next doctors appointment isn't until August 6th, not sure why she made it 5 weeks instead of 4. Oh well. Then I think she will send me for glucose testing and the rhogam shot. DH and I have paid for another private scan which is August 3rd. We get DVDs of all the kids when I'm pregnant with them. It's just tradition now.
-
Oh Id love to get another scan and a dvd but nowhere near me does private scans. I have to have the glucose test next time too. The midwife told me everyone needs to do the 2hr fasting one too, boo. It just used to be 1hr and you didn't have to fast. Who had 2 hrs to suit there? I'll have to find a good book.
-
I don't know when we have to do our test, not looking forward to it. I have always passed, but it makes me feel sick every time... I would not like to do a 2 hour one either! Anyone else still feeling sleepy all the time? I just can't shake it, never remember that lasting this long with my last 4...
-
My tiredness went away then came back again about 19 weeks for a few weeks. It's a pain isn't it? But maybe it's because you have 4 other kids to look after Zem?
-
So sorry you are feeling tired. I am guessing it is the pregnancy and keeping up with the others! I was so so fatigued at the end of the 1st tri, but fingers crossed still feeling really good.
bythe******, that is harsh! Mine is still an hour. They let me drink it at home though and I just have to be there 1 hour later to get my blood drawn. Two hours is really long! I am craving so many more sweets this pregnancy. I worry I will fail!
-
So what is the first thing everyone is looking forward to after baby gets here, other then the obvious, baby..lol? I am looking forward to sleeping oh my back and stomach....OHH I wish I could sleep on my stomach. err. lol
-
Would also like to add, I miss normal sex LOL!
-
I'm looking forward to sleeping ony stomach, a hot bath and a glass of white wine.
-
You said it girls! Wanting all that too. I would like some sushi please too!
-
Sounds like you are all doing well! I am looking forward to not having frequent heartburn anymore and losing the baby weight I put on already and feeling less rolly polly overall, lol.
Feel free to pass judgement on me but I do eat sushi while pregnant. Granted, I only eat it from restaurants or the high end grocery store by us because of the preparation, but I still eat it. The fish itself is frozen to kill any parasites hanging out in there before it's thawed out and made into sushi.
Japanese women do not give up sushi while pregnant either. Japan's health ministry is fanatical about public health and if there was significant evidence to back up that pregnant women really shouldn't eat sushi, there would be a massive public awareness campaign and movements to stop women from eating sushi.
Anyway, that's why I still eat sushi while pregnant but anyone who still doesn't feel comfortable certainly doesn't have to - to each their own! It's still a good idea to avoid or have small servings of the fish with a higher mercury content though.
-
I totally agree, Babygirl4me. I should just eat it. My friend started eating it half-way through her pregnancy.
Funny too I will eat soft cheese and deli meats (also a source for listeria). I don't know why I get the guilt with sushi? There was a chance I was going to Japan for work during my pregnancy. I figured I would eat the sushi over there... why not here too? ha
-
I thought it was the mercury in sushi as to why pregnant women can't eat it? I don't like seafood so it's not a hard choice for me. I do eat deli meats. I make sure all soft cheese is pasteurized. I also don't drink herbal teas just because I heard it wasn't safe...not sure if there is any truth to that??? But, I'm extremely guilty of having WAY too much caffeine.
-
I also don't care much for fish, so don't have a problem with not eating it. I don't change really how I eat what so ever. Still get my steaks medium rare, still eat deli meat, still eat cheese, still eat soft serve ice cream. Have with all of my pregnancies so far, they all turned out fine lol. So just now, my cat was laying on my stomach. Well apparently the baby didn't like that, so she kicked right where the cat was at. The cat jumped off me so fast and turned around and looked at me like I just shot it....HAHA!!
-
That's funny about the cat Zem. My boys always used to kick my husband whenever we hugged. This is likely my last pregnancy so Im trying to savour it, that being said In looking forward to having more energy. I basically got no sleep last night with bad weather, baby kicks, reflux, 5yo not sleeping and sick husband sleep just didn't happen.
DH had been sick for a week and not much help even though he's supposed to be on holidays. I've booked him into the dr today even though he didn't want to go.
-
You poor thing, bythe******! I have to do that with my husband. Funny how if I am sick I get maybe 1-2 days to get better, but my hubby drags things on... haha
I usually ending up booking him an appointment because I have had enough too! He got this terrible case of poison oak and dragged him into my dermo to get a shot finally! Why prolong the misery?!?
Zem7, hilarious about the cat, but I'm not supposed to eat soft serve ice cream?? Whoops! Just had a vanilla cone at mcDonald's today. Can't give that up!
I am a big tea drinker (well, I have 1 cup of green tea in the morning and don't drink coffee) I asked my doc about the herbal teas. She said some of them were bad for you?? I still thought it was crazy and when I pushed her on it she said "everything in moderation".I had not heard that in my first pregnancy.
Yes, I am assuming this is my last pregnancy too so trying to enjoy it. Although I went to yoga today and not sure how much longer I can go. It's difficult for me to even lay on my back at the end and relax!
-
She's in labor!! Or labour as they would say... haha. So excited!!! It's gotta be a girl, right?
-
I think its a girl also. Wonder if she will have the baby today or tomorrow....
-
Well I guess it was today! lol I was also totally wrong, its a boy.
