Due June/July/ August 2017

Hi all,

I've been following this thread after and invite from GirlieCat to join when I got my BFP. I didn't join straight away as I have had previous losses and wanted to make sure baby would stick before getting to excited.
We are 10 weeks and 3 days and due on the 7th of July. This is our 4th baby and we swayed girl, although it wasn't a hardcore sway I did what I could :) I am worried about my sway the month we conceived as we stopped the diet due to moving states and ate what was available at the time. Hopefully this doesn't effect our sway to much but you never know, I have done a gender maker test well 3 actually lol and all have come back as a girl result but who knows how accurate they actually are. We are a same sex couple and we live in Australia! Congratulations on all your pregnancies and successful sways so far!

That's so awesome that you're 10 weeks now, I think almost everyone here can relate to the trepidation of posting too soon.
Such fantastic news, that Rainbow is getting her Rainbow baby :big hug:
Do you find out officially at the scan ?

Girliecat...have you been sending me your morning sickness?
I've started it a few days ago, just total nausea and back to the first part of the 1st trimester !
On the bright side, I've lost 4 lbs, so my weight gain isn't as humungous.

Have our next scan on Thursday.
It sounds so silly but I am really hoping the skull isn't as boyish - not that that is 100% accurate lol

Our 3 boys got their advent gifts on Sunday: a pink dummy and a scan picture of the baby wrapped in christmas paper. They were all chocked and very happy and have been gently patted my stomac and giving me their opinions on girl names. I booked a 14 week scan next week, so the boys can see their coming sister. Although I got a Harmony test result which says girl, I am still afraid that the scan will tell us opposite. I know I am being silly because I think the Harmony test is as close as stone sure and won't lie about gender. Anyone else still won't believe that they are really getting a girl?

Welcome rainbow! Glad you finally decided to join us and glad you have had a healthy 10 weeks already. Happy to have you with us.

Sparkles, sorry you are sick. I have been feeling better and better with nausea. I still get sick sometimes, but it is more sudden now and not feeling bad for hours on end. Headaches are still daily, which oddly I would rather be nauseous instead but I know I don't get to pick. I hope you feel better. Good luck at your scan. I don't get another till 20 weeks unless I go private.

Dreamsister- how sweet that your boys know now and they got so excited. I believe Harmony is so very accurate but yes, I will be a bit nervous on my anatomy scan to make sure nothing changes with the gender. I waited till 11weeks for my blood test so I feel pretty confident that was long enough for it to be accurate, but there is always a sliver of doubt.

I borrowed a friends fetal Doppler and listened to babies heart beat last night. So glad to have this to check on baby a few times a week since doc appointment are not as often in second trimester. Looking forward to being able to feel her for more reassurance.

Moon phase was girl - although my dd1 was conceived in a boy moon phase so not a huge deal .
I had a pretty nasty cold prior to O :(
1 of our 4 attempts I did not have fertile cm and we didn't use preseed
Not sure we were taking some of our supps long enough to make a difference

We plan to find out in January with the blood test :) I'm nervous as can be !
Praying morning sickness stays away . I swear I believe in the morning sickness theory = girl lol . I know not for everyone but it seems to be that way in my family . I had hyperemesis with dd2 :(

Great sway! Congrats and welcome! In general, 90 days on supps before your sway is ideal but you conceived quickly which is great for blue! We didn't use preseed either. Were you exercising?

I am a blue swayer, after 3 girls. We have one other blue swayer and her sway was successful! So keeping our fingers crossed! Congrats on your BFP!

Girlie, awe so glad you can hear babes heartbeat! I have tried to find this little bean on my Doppler since the 2nd, and I can't pick her/him up, yet!! Ugh, whatta stinker already! haha.

Reading this I got such a big smile, how lovely that they are so happy and part of the journey :)

Please don't worry the Harmony is wayyyy more accurate than any scan, so trust it !

Girlie, That's horrid about the headaches.
But yay for the doppler !
Can totally understand that it would be reassuring, wish we all had more regular scans.
It just doesn't feel like enough !

Still battling nausea and food aversions 24/7 and now reflux has kicked in :( really hoping the nausea will subside soon and not go til 18 weeks like last time! Next ultrasound in 4 weeks time..this waiting is driving me nuts!! Lol. Can't shake the feeling that it's a 5th boy tho :/ I'll probably have a heart attack if they tell me it's not lol

Hi Mummy. If you are 14 weeks a scan can reveal gender by now. Aren't you curious to know? I admire your patience.

MrsSparkles, yes I know I am being silly. The company that took my Harmony test (Ariosa Diagnostics) say the quoted accuracy for fetal sex for the Harmony Prenatal Test is greater than 99 %. I think I still won't believe it before I hold her in my arms :-)

I can totally understand Dreamsister, and I don't think you're silly.
I worry I will hear boy, and be so disappointed that I start to clutch at straws that it could be wrong.
The opposite of you, but similar lol

@MrsSparkles, When will you find out? You are not going to take a Harmony test? I don't think you can tell anything by the shape of the skull. So why do you think you will hear boy? My intuition has not always been right. And with all this gender dreaming mixed in I think you get easily confused. Fx you will get a nice surprise [emoji120]

Dreamsister - We decided not to do the Harmony test as we wouldn't terminate for DS.
And I couldn't justify spending £400-700 on a gender test....although I do kind of wish I had to put me out of my misery !
We find out in 3 and a half weeks :)
Keep thinking of all the things I did right with my sway....but then the SMEP just throws it all for me.

Have you started to buy pink things yet ?
Just did the last of my Christmas shopping, and bought tons of stuff in Zara for my cousins baby girl, and my besties daughter.
Shopping for girls stuff is so much fun !

MrsSparkles, I did the Harmony test most of all because I wanted to make sure babys cromosome was all right and as an add on to the 13 week nuchal fold scan.

No I haven't gone shopping for pink yet. We are low on money this month and I can't justify to spend money on baby when she is not yet born. I rather save our money for Christmas presents and for a future weekend trip for DH and I before baby is born.

Plus I simply haven't had time as I work full time 5 days a week.

But I will defo go shopping one day. I am not just so much of a shopping person also because I am too reasonable about our money.

Shopping for boys stuff is also fun and Zara is nice.

It is a bit of a worry that the scan they do for free here, is so inaccurate regarding chromosomal abnormalities.
So I think you absolutely did the right thing getting the Harmony.


I can understand not shopping yet, it's such an expensive time of year !!!! But if I hear girl...I will probably bankrupt my husband lol
I am such a bargain hunter, I borrowed my friends work discount for Zara so it worked out quite cheap.

I have 2 girls and with my first I conceived after missing a couple bc pills , & my second was conceived within 3 months . This one was the second month . I think I'm just very fertile which I feel blessed to be ! But wonder if there's any truth to how long it takes to conceive theory. I wasn't exercising :( because my go to exercises are cardio and that sways girl .
What was your sway ?? I hope we were both successful! However I just keep telling myself it's a girl lol

What do they say about time it takes to conceive? All 5 of mine we literally conceived after 1 night. Hence why i think this one is also a boy nothing was really done differently...my hubby has already said if its a girl I won't be able to stop him shopping for girls things lol...it would prob makes us poor lol with us both doing it

I think they say if it happens instantly it's a boy, not sure of the science behind it.
Probably because the body is healthy, which sways boy.

We will be so broke if we get our girls All Blue lol

When you say instantly do you mean within the first / second cycle?

I fell preg with DS1 on 3rd cycle and fell preg with DS2 on 1st cycle - (6 months after a D and C). My friend however, tried for ages for a child and was on clomid and lost it, she then went off clomid and tried for almost 8 months and had a son. My bestie who recently had her daughter (3rd child after 2 boys) fell pregnant within first month of trying..

I have read though about good fertility = boy and conceiving fairly quickly = boy :)

Good luck guys with your pregnancies and i hope you get your desired gender!! xx :)

I think it's an iffy theory, as even in a healthy woman they say it's only a 1 in 4 chance every cycle of conception.
But hey I'd love it to be true, took 4 or 5 cycles with this one ;)

It took me 8 cycles to get pregnant last time I swayed girl and got my sweet DS3! It's just a crap shoot!

I'm not sure if they offer private scans here, I've always had to have a referral to have an ultrasound done. I think I'd get a more definitive result if I wait til 18 weeks anyway

Well I had one at 17 weeks with my last pregnancy due to bleeding, and the tech couldn't tell for sure and basically gave me false hope for girl... Had another one done at 18 weeks and there was no mistaking the boys bits lol. I would rather not get disappointed again so I'll just wait til the morphology scan and find out for sure

Gosh, hadn't considered that could happen.
How horrible for you to think it was a girl and then get let down.
Thanks for sharing, as I really did think it was a dead cert at 16 weeks, but might book in for 18 instead now to be sure sure.

I think it can depend on the scaning equipment, where we go i don't think Theve ever been wrong x

I literally just got off the phone, they said they will be able to tell at 16 weeks.
And they'll keep scanning until they get a good view !

Just had my 16wk appointment with the homebirth midwife. Got to hear babies heartbeat for the 1st time 😍 baby had been kicking loads the last couple of days even woke me up last night!

I think it'll be okay, they seem to not rush even on the reassurance scans.

I have just got a scan at 13 week 1 day and we could easily see it is a girl. Normally they can see gender for sure at 14 weeks.

:broken: Found out today at my 10 week scan that the baby died at 7 weeks. I have known deep down that things havent been right for 3 weeks now. Follow your gut instinct ladies. I just wish I had gone to the doctor a few weeks ago. So worried that I have totally ruined my chances of a good sway as I totally reverted to my old ways & gained 6kg in the past 6 weeks :(

So sorry Kc. Very sad for you. Wish you the best of luck as you heal physically and emotionally from this loss. [emoji20]
