One week today until my scan. I'm very nervous about it, not about finding out the gender, but just finding out whether the baby is healthy or not. I've heard lots of sad stories lately, there has been a lot in the news here because there is a campaign at the moment to make termination legal for babies who have no chance of life outside the womb, I keep hearing these really sad cases and I'm terrified of my scan now.

Yes it is really important to have the baby with you the first hours and I was talking to my dr. She said "its only for a few hours" I think its really silly though and I will countinue fighting for that. Im from a country where they leave the baby with you right away but im in my husbands country right now and everything is so different in that area. People hardly breastfeed here either so sometimes I feel weird haha.

where are you living that they do this?!?!?!?! non of my babies have ever been taken at birth!!! that is so sad :( i think something like that would drive me to have a homebirth... and i am quite against homebirths.. but that makes me sad :(

Hey ladies it's me wannagirl21 , but now have a different name cuz I had to get a new account, well I had my anatomy scan today and shockingly we are having a GIRL!!!!!!! I can't believe it I cried cuz I was so shocked and happy. I made the tech show me twice on the screen and also give me a pick for my sake lol....... she is all girl we are way excited and she is healthy and everything looks great so there is my update and my journey is sadly kind of over but now I can't wait to mee t my sweet baby girl.

Well we had our scan and we are having a beautiful little GIRL :)

No sadness at all, very happy and excited to meet our newest daughter.

I dont think they take the baby right away , I mean they let you hold it first and then they measure and so on. I have to ask good but my husband is not happy with the idea either ( he also thinks its important to be together, breastfeed and we also co sleep with our daughter still so it feels good that he is on my side)
When I see birth programs from usa on tv they often show a lot of babies lying in one room without their parents and I think they said its for observation. It is like that in USA?
