Anyone familiar with essential oils? Trying to find out if one carrier oil is better than another for clary sage and rose oil..
Carriers oils that are good are jojoba oil and coconut oil :)
Are you planning in using it for any particular reason? It's very good for a number of things especially dispelling illusions and stress related problems when you need some clarity, it is a very good oil :)
Planning to use a combo of rose oil and clary sage when my due date is closer to help things along...But they recommend clary sage in a bath, and i figure if i was going to do such a thing id just rub it on belly instead with a carrier oil and avoid the bath all together lol..same with the rose..and i was thinking coconut would be best but wanted someone with more experience to confirm so thank you very much :) Clary sage is said to help with contractions when your cervix is soft enough, and rose oil is recommended to soften and thin the cervix.
Coconut oil (the one solid at room temperature) is comedogenic- means it clogs pores. I would use Jojoba oil which mimics sebum produced by skin- it is considered low on the comedogenic scale.

Plus, you want something that will better assist the absorption of the essential oil into the skin- like Jojoba oil. Coconut oil (the one solid at room temperature) is more occlusive, meaning it will create a barrier on the skin allowing more of the essential oil to rub off since it will not penetrate the skin as quickly.

If you prefer to use coconut oil, I would use MCT coconut oil (liquid at room temperature). It has a great fatty acid profile that absorbs into the skin quickly allowing a greater amount of essential oils mixed with it to penetrate the skin. Plus it is non-comedogenic (will not clog pores).
